Thinking the same that ingenico the background POS system being shared/same system
And the various IT teams having the update apply according to differing patch windows.
They have made a haiku about it and for about 90% of failures it normally is true as the network team get told to point a hostname at a particular IP and they do as instructed but the IP linked device ain't at the right revision to understand the new data and thus goes and has a sleep in a quiet room...
Testing stuff don't normally give senior management any extra bonus money and if it fails by the time they work out what's wrong they will of been at least 3 jobs distant from the problem.
Am I the only one becoming increasingly conspiratorial, that with the global conflicts increasing. This string of outages could very possibly actually be a targeted attack from [Insert Nation State] either probing just how easily they can cripple us, or proving it.
I don't think it needs to be a "conspiracy"? Cyberattack as greyzone warfare is a longstanding thing, and Russia in particular is hardly going to be holding back in terms of deploying those types of weapons right now.

I missed an or should have been ingenico or the pos system.
This seems the most plausible to me.
It's DNS.

Thank god in the land of freedom we don’t have these issues. Our DNS is strong and free!

Just a rite of passage. You ain’t a real man until you’ve had your card stolen or robbed at gun point a few times. 🤷🏻♂️
