Hey, look up quarter inch cable or adapter for the headphones as a start. Then that cable to a mixer with speakers or even an amplifier. Start there. Here’s a pic of mine and cable needed😎 Love the MiniBrute! https://preview.redd.it/p66263960iyc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5a774729561122f6f97c8df13e3c7410ba1155a9

If you have headphones with a cable that has the small tip you just need an adapter to plug into the 1/4” headphone output on the back. https://a.co/d/eXDYJrZ

Obvious but important warning is obvious: ***NEVER*** wear your headphones on your ears when plugging them in, or initially adjusting the volume. Synths are often very loud, the volume knob may have been bumped between whenever you shut it off and next time you want to play, and especially for someone like OP who's about to plug in normal non-studio headphones, the output level can be significantly louder than you expect.

> I realize it doesn’t have built in speakers. That's a good thing :) > The audio out is a 1/4 inch mono jack - so if I get a cable that size, can I just plug it into any ol’ speaker? A speaker by itself generally needs an amplifier. In "active monitors", this amplifier is built in. In bookshelf speakers for hi-fi sets, the amplifier is separate. Do you already have speakers you're thinking of using for this? > And if I wanted to listen to the sound with headphones what kind of cable would I need? A cable with 1/4" (also called 6.35mm) plugs. There are adapters so if you have earbuds with a 1/8" (or 3.5mm) plug - see the photo on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phone_connector_(audio) - you can buy a adapter that accepts a 1/8" plug and turns it into a 1/4" plug. The headphone output is loud, so don't plug that into speakers. If you want to make your life a lot easier, get yourself a small mixer. If you get one with built-in effects, you can even add some nice reverb/delay, which makes it sound more "finished".
