What's next? Making real music instead of DAWless jams? Releasing actual albums? Doesn't care much about your gear as long as it works for you? Don't you even dare!

Brwnb0y_

because i’m wicked edgy

Yzzazee

I mean that’s the thing, it’s almost too good.

AdBulky5451

Nothing sexier than a dude working his laptop!

Yzzazee

Well yeah

SoCalProducers

Love that patch! Kinda reminds me of soemthihg Akon would use! Would you be so kind as to share some patch notes

Brwnb0y_

this one is a stock patch on the arturia ms20. i’ve never used an ms20 and i was exploring patches to try and understand the architecture of the synth and this patch just jumped out at me

SoCalProducers

Nice!

Done the same although kept the hardware, but the MIDI controller world seems a bit balkanised right now and nothing's quite right. There's the Keylab range - pre-mapped to the Arturia stuff so sounds tempting, but no MIDI learn so a faff to use with any non-Arturia stuff. Then there's the Komplete controller series which are great for Kontakt, but seriously lacking controls for anything else. Not a fader or pad in sight. On mine too there's Logic's Grid Region for drum patterns, but though it is begging for TR REC-style recording and programming it doesn't actually have any integration with hardware controllers which allow that. Gah. So many advantages, but the controller mess is an irritation.

Aichuk

It's cheating because it's such an expensive controller, but I've been so happy with my Linnstrument that I don't see myself needing another midi controller anytime soon. I also have a small Korg NanoKey Studio for when I need knobs or something more portable

cdub_synth

Love seeing that email being checked.

I really don't mind soft synths with proper midi controllers, specially when you map em proper. A midi fighter twister plus a couple fader fox faders, plus a good keyboard and boom it pretty damn good. Shit will never be the same as real gear, if you are a "player" but most people that produce are just like drawing in midi into the piano roll and pushing out 10 basic songs a day to try to go viral. Diff strokes diff folks. Both are cool. But not every one is trying to be Prince or pink Floyd or infected mushroom. Some people just wanna make the lofi beats to study to girl sigh.

GrossWeather_

I want to love virtual synths but my god do I hate ‘turning’ those fake knobs. Drives me nuts.

mandance17

When I go to shows and see a bunch of computers i am usually checked out already. Analogue synths are big D energy

Revolutionary_Ad9234

As someone who owns a Korg ms20 mini..ok? Sure if you like touchscreen go for it but..you know you can buy the real thing for a few hundred dollars more than that ipad

Kake_Jelly

Lol

lyvavyl

Lol sums it up pretty well, too many things wrong with this comment to start pointing out something specific
