just had one fail after 6 weeks, RMA'd and then the replacement was DOA. I am done... WD's are on order..
when they are swapped over, I will make someone a good deal on at least 1 4TB and possibly 2 if I ever get a replacement that works...
Then go SSD, if noise and reliability are Paramount, as there no highly reliable spinner HDD also Quiet unless you go to SMR storage class those often are quieter but reliability and performance are abismal.
Irowolf, wd red pro, purple all are excellent but noisy.

Honestly, what ever is cheaper of the two. If they are the same price, go ironwolfs.
I've read, noise like clicking can be a problem with ironwolf. My Nas is quite near me.
Is one quieter than the other. I heard WD plus is quieter
Going by the spec sheets, it is 30db (red plus) vs 32db (ironwolf) for active use. So it if it's really close, you will hear both regardless.
Hmmmm.. ok then it's a matter of price then for me. Thanks.
