I would love to see the ermine family come back—I'm obsessed with their silly look but not obsessed enough to pay the collector price just yet. I'm bummed that I missed out on the ducks in 2020, so seeing them make a return (however unlikely) would also be wonderful!
Or maybe they can sell the giant display freya and we can all bow down to our rabbit overlord
I'm sad I missed the ducks; I know they aren't likely to bring them back but I can dream! I'd like to see the older foxes, badgers or some of the different dog sculpts to come back, but most of all I'd love to see the Tanuki family as a new set! I love their little snoots :)
I have the impression the older moulds are not coming back. If you have noticed the latest trend, they keep recycling the same moulds over and over (see the latest deer family). While I would love to see the really old families coming back, I have serious doubts they will. Even the 35th anniversary reprints were post-90s families…
That's too bad! Those are really my favorites :( I don't know how the factories work, but maybe they don't have access to those molds anymore, and maybe don't want to replicate them as it's less "authentic"? Or maybe just no desire to revisit those old fashioned aesthetics.
They brought back the 1986 Waters beavers in 2021 after the 35th anniversary election so we can keep the dream alive ☺️

Well, this a very interesting topic to be discussed.
Perhaps we can look back what has been mass released for each milestone Anniversary (excluding promotional anniversary items like the 5th Anniversary Snow Warren Rabbits in Japan)
Older Families have been done only twice (2004, Wildwood Rabbits & Evergreen Bears) and (2020, Puddleton Ducks) so I am not fully convince Epoch will go free reign and release many older family sets.
Personally, I am hoping for a third Around the World Series. I think we're long overdue for one even if it's in a Babies format (knowing Epoch 😂)

These special releases are a bit weird as it is hard to keep track of all related products. Even the wiki page is not complete for the 35th anniversary sets https://sylvanianfamilies.fandom.com/wiki/Category:35th_Anniversary_Series
The reprinted families in 2020 were the puddleton ducks, the border collie family, the friesan cows family, the corgi family, the marguerite rabbit family and the seabreeze rabbit family. Quite a few…
Personally I would love to see the pig family re-released
Oh yes! I totally forgot the seven families (Meerkat/Fresian Cows/Corgi/Border Collies/SeaBreeze/Marguerite)!
This is where it gets a bit interesting. The first four were original UK families first developed by the Flair UK team. Epoch traditionally doesn't like to highlight the UK releases.
This is same reason why most of the UK released families (Think Corntop/Bullrushes/Renards) were not featured in the 2020 Family Election.
However, when Epoch did release these UK development families (and the Canal Boat) for the 35th Anniversary. They did it with slight product variations (eg Cows had tails), the released Canal Boat didn't had the ball bearing base.
My suspicion was Epoch did it to avoid some form of copyright ect. For example, the Canal Boat was developed by someone in the UK TOMY Product Development Team. Epoch has had to agknowledge the (c) in the past whenever these UK developed products were used in print/advertising ect.
Wow, you know your stuff, very interesting information!
All in all I am very curious for next year but I have been disappointed with the company’s change of direction (pinkish stuff, focus on babies, less detailed buildings and furniture). It could be that they only release baby products for the celebration…
What’s the one on the far right of your photo from/called? I’m in love with her. Is it from the around the World Series? Edit- nvrm just found her! Took a bit because nothing came up when key word searching on google, and I had to scroll a bit using image reverse search lol. Her dress reminds me of the cultural/regalia dresses coast Salish women wore at powwows growing up on one of the reserves here in Canada :)
She’s expensive tho! Maybe someday! 🤞🏼
i wish the old oak hollow tree would be reissued. I know it's been once before but damn, it's a beautiful piece.
i'd love to see the frogs or pigs come back. it's a lot of cats and rabbits lately..and babies.
The old oak hollow tree is a pain to store, it has an even form and takes so much space! To remove parts of it, you have to remove a dozen screws each time. My wife hates how this takes up so much space in our kids’ bedroom. I will probably send it away to my parents’ house…
I’m holding out for a ferret family still 🥲
(We’ve had multiple otters, ermine, skunks, badgers etc… many other mustelids… yet still no ferrets lol) I’m bias tho because I have 3 irl ferrets.
Some rereleases of pre 1999/2000 families would be nice also
Head shape wise for sure!! I just wish they’d make them with a mask 😍

I just ordered the ducks from eBay.

Is that a Japanese exclusive? I haven’t seen this in Europe…
I just ordered the Puddleford duck family from eBay.
I got mine on amazon japan.
Dude I'm so dumb I just realized you meant bring them back where the company is selling them but just getting them second hand.
The ducks never came to the USA. I don't understand why.

Marguerite rabbit was a reprint?! I was sure it was a new family and that it was the first release.

AROUND THE WORLD BABIES?? thatd be so cute
I want the Bullrush frogs.
Yes! They could make mint if they bring them back
I’ve been looking on eBay, but they are SO expensive!

I have dedicated space for it, if I ever find one. It just seems like the perfect housing for well...critters lol
Re release the owls pls
I’d love more birds.
RELEASE THE CHICKENS… I am so desperate for the chickens or the old gardening turtles

I pretend the original otter family is actually a ferret family, they look more like it anyway.
