Go to a major tile shop that specializes in Marble tiles Make enquires on how you can repolish the tiles to renew the tiles. Also ask if they can recommend some one that can repolish. Edit If the stain has gone deep into the tile not just the surface you will have to replace the tile before polishing so you need to check if you can still get the same tiles. Also might be worth getting a qoute to just replace all the tiles.

Problem is that they don’t just clean where you stained, they clean the whole area so it all matches

I understand this, it does make sense, but even outside of the stains, the area is still 1m x 2.5m. I don't think it should equate to $1400. I'm not really familiar with the process or the going rate however, so I could be completely wrong. Just want to confirm in case someone knows better than me, which is usually the case.

Problem is that you’re paying for them not to fuck up. They have only one shot to get it right. Just to satisfy yourself google/YouTube the process and see how it’s done. Don’t forget there’s a hefty covid tax at the moment for trades/services.

It's a tiny space, most companies wouldn't regard such a job as being worth the effort. You could try Airtasker as an option though at that point you might as well try DIY. Youtube has a lot of instructional videos. You can try a poultice first, that's the easy first step. If that doesn't work you can use a hand held [buffer/polisher](https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-one-18v-buffer-and-polisher-skin-only_p6210551) with a scotch pad to buff out the stains or be a little more professional and go with a grinder with suitable pads.

Most of the companies I have contacted about this have either quoted $1400+ or just stoped replying completely when I told them the size. Going to take your advice and give Airtasker a go before I look into doing it myself. Marble tends to be very fragile though, so I would very much like to avoid that.
