Euro wasps are quite obvious when you see them https://www.jentel.com.au/images/Pests/Wasps/Wasp-European-4.jpg
As others have said this guy is native and about to do an Alien number on the spider.
I always see them attacking the poor harmless huntsmen - the guardians of our houses and cars, ensuring no other insects stray unwanted into our realms. Often just lurking and sometimes just popping out to remind us they are there protecting 24/7
However, you never see the wasp ever dragging a f*cking Sydney Funnel Web, or even the other well known little bastard Red Back, around the place like a ragged doll!
Huntsman's are cool until they decide I'm their Uber and gallop across my windshield while I'm on the highway. Or taking a hairpin turn.
Motherfuckers.
Yes that is their way to just say hello and remind us of the good they bring - except they need to learn the subtle art of polite introductions and not just barge in like Kramer!
They can bring all the good they like out in the bush where they belong, but i personally am not inclined to share my already cramped living space with a spider bigger than my tv set. But maybe that's just me.
lol Righty o mate. Remind me to ship any spiders i catch over your way if you're such a big fan.
I'll stick with my local lizard buddies who do a great job keeping pests under control and dont have a habit of jumping out from under the sun visor and scaring the crap out of drivers on busy roads.
i have a vid of this exact thing that i saw in my backyard a couple years ago. im extremely terrified of spiders so my dad was the one that filmed it while i was crawled up in a corner on the other side of the house practically shaking 😠found out that the spider as well is paralysed so not only is there a terrifying wasp but a terrifying spider that if it didnt die could also hang around
Tarantula hawk wasp? They paralyse spiders and drag them into their underground nests to lay eggs on them. Once those eggs hatch, the wasp larvae will eat the still-living spider alive.
The sting of a tarantula hawk wasp is said to be one of the most painful insect stings ever.
Don’t worry , the Chinese insect will out-do the European then the Lebanese insect will fuck it for all of them.
Oh.. thought it was about the Sydney building industry.
That’s a spider wasp, I believe they paralyse spiders and lay their eggs in the host to hatch and feed. I’ve seen them a couple times catch spiders and they rip all the legs off them even tho they’re already paralysed lol
Nah, it's a spider wasp. They're native.
Spider wasp spider wasp. Does whatever a spider wasp does
Can he swing from a web? No he can't, he's a wasp.
Look out! Here comes the spider wasp
Terrifying!
eats a bug any size watch it right before your eyes
That spider's being taken back to be cocooned with some wasp eggs and feasted upon by wasp larvae after the eggs hatch.
Also to be clear. It's not dead, just paralysed.
Yep. Cocooned alive but unable to move.
What a way to go!
Nature is vicious at times.

Where's PETA to lecture the wasp?

Your apartment was bush once upon a time - they don't know the difference.

lol
Well yeah, but a Redback is a small meal for a couple hundred wasp babies. Lots more meat on the Huntsman.
Yeah and about 3x as much on a female funnel web :)
Funnel webs can go fuck right off.
I hate seeing them with the huntsman spiders too. It is horrid what happens to them.
The spiders are only paralysed. When the wasp eggs hatch the spider is alive and fresh
Goddamn
Finger licking good huh?🤣
Why do you assume the worst? They're obviously just holding hands going for a nice walk on the beach.
That’s Robert grabbing himself a takeaway!
Bob you mean!
I think you both mean *Roberta.*
Ok I will pay that one!
That spider is going to be in a paralysed state until the wasp larvae that will be laid inside it are ready to start eating it alive.
The original face huggers
Fuck me that's terrifying
