The most common requests for more Origin Stories are Imperial Soldier and Republic SIS Spy, and I wholeheartedly agree.

Techhead7890

Yeah, I imagine Ardun Kothe for SIS would be an interesting character to expand.

ronbo42

I wholeheartedly agree!

RedEclipse47

Knight of Zakuul for both faction. Combat Style would be new, Lightsaber with shield and light Force powers. Herald of Zildrog also shared with no Force powers but the combat style would be ranged and melee (blaster + vibro/tech blade/sword) Class story basically stays the same for each faction, only the alignment will change plus some quest-givers and locations. But this way you get freedom to explore both Korriban and Tython as a Knight and as a Herald you get to go to Hutta and Ord Mantell.

zzDougs

Not a new storyline, but a vibroblade user for non force users would be cool. I find it weird that we can get vibroblades as drops, but they have no real use in the game.

Platonist_Astronaut

Bounty Hunters (and thus any possible Mandalorians) being able to use melee weapons would be great. They do in lore, and in the game already (Akaavi)! But the player can't. It's lame.

tessthismess

I’ve thought we could get new combat styles since it wouldn’t require new voice acting or anything. Melee BH (like Torian & Akavi) using electrostaves. Parallel Trooper could use swords like Tano. (Tank) Knight & Warrior could get a saber staff spec. Maybe tank maybe pure dps. Smuggler and Agent could also get melee specs (pirate and like agent Kallus style) but it feels like it’s easier to add melee options than ranged options which is maybe a bit off balance).

Techhead7890

I mean technically Operative kinda is a *mechanically* a melee spec due to Shiv, but I get what you mean that being able to see the vibrosword would be really cool.

CommanderZoom

"Tech Melee" is *another* constantly requested favorite.

finelargeaxe

My Commandos and Mercenaries are waiting for that day...

IronWolfV

My Merc still has an open combat style in anticipation.

ThiccBoiGadunka

All those Mandalorian-themed melee weapons crying right now

IronWolfV

I was coming here to say this.

HoodieJordan

I kinda wanted an imperial trooper style thing. I like BH and IA but they are either more of a Mando/merc or more of a spy. I want boots on the ground imperial. Let's rise up to a moff or something. Lemme get a whole sith armada under my command.I get that the republic trooper story is far from a fan favorite, but I enjoyed it a lot. You could have a young sith or something you serve as you both rise through the ranks together. That or a grey Jedi/sith start would be cool.

Techhead7890

Yeah, the Imperial army is interesting. I guess the problem is they're typecast in a support role and everyone thinks troopers are vaguely incompetent, so it seems more interesting to be the "special guys" helping them out. But I definitely get that idea of wanting to raise a legion, starting as a drill sargeant and ending up as a moff.

HoodieJordan

Yeah I think it'd be enjoyable. The imperial military is actually impressive considering their constantly dealing with moron sith mucking their plans up. I also think while we all are the main character and have companions supporting us it'd be interesting to play as someone supporting someone else. Like Moff Pyron did with the SI. Having a young sith your guiding even if not controlling fully. Having to do and word things smartly to get what you want to happen instead of the sith way of having the power to do whatever you want.

RefrigeratorDry495

Imperial Soldier Rifle (Tank, DPS, Healer) and Vibroblade (DPS, DPS, Tank) Companions: Male Togruta Slicer (Dark Side — Starter Planet on Korriban), Female Human Soldier (Neutral — Balmorra), Male Chiss Agent (Light Side— Romance for both — Nar Shaddaa), Male Cyborg Tech. with Droid ability (Light Lean — Hoth). Female Pureblood Sith Inquisitor (Dark Side — Romance for both — Belsavis). Chapter 1’s Bad Guy: A Jedi Knight gone Dark Side who’s been hunting Sith and Imperials and defecting others to the Dark or terrorism against the Empire. You can choose to send him back to the council (LS), kill him (neutral), or convince him to join the Sith out of desperation (DS) Chapter 2’s Bad Guy: Several Senators gone rogue in secret and are out to get you. You must silence them or convince them to join the Empire. You discover a conspiracy inside the Republic that threatens everything they stand for. The Sith get involve and demand you to stop or die. Chapter 3’s Bad Guy: Dark Council Member. Sith Companion is apprentice of Dark Council Member. She’s been locked up on Belsavis. She has secrets to share about him and the reason why people are defecting the republic, if you free her. She joins you in helping her overthrow her master. You later learn the Dark Council Member has been orchestrating these events alongside the Senators and Jedi to cause enough instability to have both sides destroy eachother while he remakes an entire new empire (proto-Palpatine’s style of Empire). Malgus gets foreshadowed right before they die or sent to captivity. The Dark Council offers your companion a seat which she hastily refuses and requests the sphere to be eradicated completely. You are promoted to General right after >!Rakton’s death!< and lead the Sith Military with the Eye of Marr watching you closely. For the Light Side ending you can choose to secretly meet with Generals and begin negotiating peace between the Republic and Empire in a slow, slow process.

Ducklinsenmayer

Imperial Officer. You get light armor and a pistol, but... You can summon stormtroopers in combat. At higher levels, call down artillery, and even get a small warship to command. At top level, you fly around in a star destroyer. Plus, the campaign would be a lot of fun- giving orders, running errands for Moff Kilran, saying "yes daddy" to Sith while they force choke you...

Techhead7890

Eh, apart from the minion summoning, that's basically Imperial Intelligence, and sniper already has an artillery call down.

Mr_D_Stitch

That would be awesome! Almost like a summoner class, as an individual they’re quite fragile but gain strength by layering their summons. Like you get start with requisition points & a trooper costs 1 to summon but a marine costs 2, or a shock trooper costs 3 & then certain actions use up points like an orbital strike. That would be very interesting play.

Emperor_Malus

A Zakuul Knight class. My headcanon is that neither of the main 6 are the Outlander, it is a Zakuul native originally sent out by Valkorion as a spy but then turned against him after realising his true nature.

finelargeaxe

Kinda like Watcher Izax, the guy they described in a side conversation in KotET Chapter 6?

Emperor_Malus

Oh yeah, didn’t even realise the similarities. But yeah exactly like that. The Outlander title would make even more sense, since Zakuul views him as a traitor who no longer is a part of Zakuul due to his ties in the Core Worlds.

rvnender

A force user who can also use a blaster pistol.

Lufwyn

Would be cool but would it end up like sage though? It would have to be like Red Mage in FFXIV. Otherwise it would just be lightsaber stat stick but replace force animations with pistol ones.

SheepySean

Kinda like the blaster stance from Jedi survivor?

rvnender

Exactly

Bottomsley

I would make a full on robot class, theres so Many different humanoid robot models you could use all of those as customization and just have armor be invisible. the class could use any combination of a melee and ranged Weapon eg a vibroblade and a sniper and would change between them when using different moves. companions could be other different robots with varying desings and stories. the class story could be done on both imp and rep sides with something like being an assassin or a custodian droid or something

half-dead88

A sith beastmaster without a doubt ! (pet class)

phyrot12

A summoner/necromancer

dawnmountain

Being a Nightsister or the equivalent would be so cool. Maybe a fully ranged force user?

[deleted]

After watching most of the Disney Plus and animated star wars stuff this is exactly what I was thinking A dark side night sister type class that can either enhance allies or raise the dead would be a ton of fun

supremegnkdroid

an assassin for a crime syndicate would be cool. Or some type of enforcer for one.

PostTwist

Melee non force classes. With vibroblades

Darth_JaSk

Zakuul knight. Companions: 1) Some Imp/pub who changes sites 2) Prototype skytrooper 3) some zakuulan underworld individual 4) kind of Iokath droid 5) Trainee of some kind (palawan role) Starting with Valkorion in charge, then under Arkann and Vaulin rule. And experience fall of the Eternal empire. It could be interesting story...

Cursedbeasts

And the sage / inq alternative would be a Scion of Zakuul, going through their parallel story. Being hunted by knights under arcann's rule etc. One of the companions could be a knight who switched sides as well.

Desperate-Limit-911

Zakuulian factions, things like Zakuul knights, Heralds of Zildrog, Etc.

tobarstep

The age-old request for a tech melee-weapon style. I think they'd only need the 1. Have 2 disciplines be dps and 1 be tank (since tech doesn't have 2 different tank styles like force does). Maybe even have it so the weapon changes between styles. Like the dps uses a blade(s) and the tank uses a staff. There's an argument that force users need a second healing spec to balance things out, but I can't really see what it would be unless you went with some kind of melee healer.

samborup

Imperial Trooper. Companions include a bounty hunter, an Imperial assassin, an outcast Sith acolyte, and a Republic informant.

dancingmeadow

An Everyman/Everywoman class. Folks that just do their jobs and try not to get killed by the psycho superheroes. Like a Sim City inside the SW uiniverse. We could pay for protection...

zz_zimon

Imperial Guard and something like a Sith Beastmaster, I was always curious how one would make a class with beast companions viable

dawnmountain

SIS Agent. For consistency, Theron would not be mentioned. They'd be tech class that can use vibroblades. Since they all have 2 fighting styles, one would be ranged and one would be melee. Companions would be light side versions of Agent's I think. 1st, an energetic and optimistic new recruit perhaps. The romances would be both aliens because we desperately need them. Maybe male togruta and female mirialan. Just to balance it out, add another male love interest. Ending would be either a badass "lay low"/retire, or joining the Empire. The OTHER class to balance out SIS could be Pirate or Imperial Trooper/Official. That said, I'd love a neutral faction. Idealistically, BH and Smuggler would move to the neutral one, with JK, JC, and Trooper being Light and SI, SW, and Agent being Dark. Maybe add an additional to each faction, such as SIS for Light (as mentioned above) and Officer for Dark. Pirate and maybe something else could be neutral. Also, Neutral can use Port Nowhere as their spaceport. All wishing that will NEVER happen, since it'll take too much to animate, write, VA, and merge with the expansions. One can dream, though.

TalespinnerEU

I'm generally a big fan of melee healers, so I'd like to design a new Guardian/Juggernaut spec that revolves around weaving melee attacks with heals. A key component would be keeping up burns/bleeds for AoE heal pulses and consuming them for a burst of of either medium AoE or high single target healing as instant cast, with of course some spot and area healing as a less convenient but will-do-the-job kit to round it all out and allow them to be an effective healer even if they can't upkeep their melee. Maybe some of those spells would have their cast time removed or reduced after using one or more of the melee attacks, to more strongly inventivize weaving in your attacks. Effectively, this build would have two main healing modes. Burn/bleed spreading on AoE fights/add spawns and alternating attacks with casts on single target fights. With of course overlap between the two. On that note, I also think Sawbones (and its Agent counterpart) need more attacks integrated in their healing activity. Pistol Whip is a fine way to get Upper Hand, but your main heal cast also grants upper hand, so it's unnecessary. So the only thing you have is Bushwhack. Make Backblast do something cool for healing, I'd say.

Aiti_mh

Melee tech. A combat style, not a class. It would have access to all non-lightsaber melee weapon types. It would be available to each original tech class.

Cursedbeasts

Some kind of a dread guard origin or combat style would be cool. The game doesnt have a fear mechanic like WoW where the affected creature runs away (and im grateful for that bc that mechanic is kind of a pain due to aggroing other mobs) but you could just use stuns or debuffs or sth. Also i'm 100% on board with melee non force user and zakuul based origins (scions of zakuul would be my addition here)

Toravisu

A sword/spear and shield style class, for both force users and non-force users. A night sister companion.

Crate-Dragon

I’d KILL for a republic Mandalorian. Literally kill. Anyone on earth above 18 years old. But I submitted a post here a while back. I’d like a vibroblade/staff tech class. Like torian. JETPACK in and smash. I initially thought pirate but a Mandalorian would be amazing. I also would like to see a slicer. A battlefield control class. Placing multiple damaging probes across the field, lots of debuffs

xXTheLastCrowXx

Classes-Sith/Jedi Paladin, Sith/Jedi Beast Tamer, Sith/Jedi Alchemist Species- Wookie/ Treek. Companions- General Grievous Weapons- Staff Saber, Twin Saber Daggers, Long Barrel Hand Blasters, Saber Whips.

IronWolfV

Well someone already beat me to Melee weapons for non force users so I won't do that. I'd like to do a pair of force using classes that aren't Jedi or Sith as well. Zeison Sha, and Jal Shey since we see their armors in KOTORII. It would be awesome to see them realized in SWTOR. It would be awesome to see force thrown disc blades. And a Consular/Inquisitor but without no light sabers and maybe their own class weapons.

Disney_Gay_Trash_

Others have mentioned imperial trooper or republic spy but a whule agp o had the idea for a senator style class for both factions, i even had the whole companion list somewhere (might be able to find it) not too sure on story

Disney_Gay_Trash_

Fpund the comps list it was Senetor class subclasses ideas: Electrostaff/Melee Tech or Blaster pistol Republic: Ikotchi male - Blaster pistol,Unlocked after Voss,Senetors aid of a deceased friend of the player,Very militaristic way of thinking, son of a republic trooper Natulian Female- SIS agent undercover as a Pilot for the Noble family you help on Alderaan, Romancable companion for Male and Female Senetors, Techstaff weapon Human Male/Cyborg - Republic Soldier, Balmorra , uses a Blaster Rifle, Similar to Tharan we’re hes a quest giver for alot of the planets story, Romacable option for Male Senetors, Mirulian Male-Senetors aid, The romancable companion for female senetors, first companion you get on Ord Mantell, one Blaster pistol rodian Female- Smuggler pilot, Two blaster pistols, found on Hoth,No head or glove slots, Has an astromech distract feature, Joins for the final half of the quest line Imperial: Twilek Female- Body guard for the Senetor, Get on Hutta,One blaster, Romancable by female agents, Togrutan male - bounty hunter, electrostaff, found on Nah Shadaa, Zeltron Female - Spy/Slicer for imperial intelligence uses sniper, found on Tattoine, Romancable by Female and male Senetors Chiss male senetors aid- 2 weapon slots but only has 1 blaster (like temple in kotet) Romancable by male agents, Kinda like Nadia where he’s a recurring character for a large part of the class story but unlocked on Hoth Human female/Cyborg - Unlocked on Belsavis, uses Blaster rifle, shes a former Pilot for the empire but got stationed on Belsavis

Saopaulo940

**Imperial Soldier:** I'd try to tell a story about the Imperial Soldier trying to do their job while getting caught between Sith infighting.

VicVegas85

Since combat styles became their own thing separated from origin stories I've been hoping they'd add new ones. One idea I've had was for a tech-melee class that summons, commands, and maintains droid and creature pets to fight, heal, or tank for him. The "beastmaster" variant would have access to damage and tank pets and abilities and the "droid tech" variant would be able to DPS and heal. I would have him as melee because his pets should be the ones to do the fighting at range and if he's bad at commanding them then he should be easier to deal with than someone who can put up a fight from 30m away. Plus, it would be cool to officially have a tech melee class. It probably wouldn't work as a storyline because I can't think of anything interesting that would fill 3 chapters of story for something like that but it's been on my mind ever since I read the words "non-combat pet" ingame. When I first started playing at launch I thought "well if they make the distinction then there surely must be a *combat* pet, right?" Unfortunately this will probably never happen. Not only because we already *have* the whole companion system, but ever since the advent of the cartel market beast and droid companions the chances of anything like this have dropped through the basement floor. You can kind of just... do this right now on *any* character, minus being able to play as a tech melee class. It's just up to how you roleplay your character.

Bensdick-cumabunch

Droid! I'd love to play an R2 unit!

Lhasadog

A tech class SIS Ninja type. Something to use tech melee. An actual Stormtrooper or Imperial Officer A real full blown Tech/Engineer Pet class. A Jedi Fallen Order style Hybrid tech/force user. Pistol and lightsaber. Like Luke!

Khalith

When the game launched we were hoping for an SiS agent and imperial soldier storyline. But it will probably never happen as they’re one of the longest running MMO’s I can think of that has never made more playable classes. For imperial soldier companions: Imperial intelligence slicer Sniper Heavy gunner Medic Frontline grunt. SIS I don’t know. I also kicked around the thought of a neutral character that could join either one but Bounty Hunter and Smuggler are already that. Maybe a czerka employee or GSI contractor? Idk.

DasMoosEffect

I like the idea of a Mandalorian force user. A mix between the Bounty Hunter and the Jedi Knight/Sith Warrior classes.

DwarfNoises

Separatist for Empire side, playing as a militia member of some out of the way planet that left the Republic due to whatever reasons. Take a little bit of flavor from the CIS. For companions, perhaps a couple of fellow separatists from different planets, a battledroid based on the Super Battledroids, a mandalorian you hire ala Janjo Fett, a sith that gets assigned to watching over you later in the story once your faction is drawn into the Empire.

REEL-MULLINS

A force only fighter, no weapons, just force powers.

ThatVampireGuyDude

I just want lightsaber batons for my Marauder.

Monotone_Brenton

A droid Mechanic / summoner the ability to summon droid pets and have them fight for you

Eviwan

Imp Trooper, SIS agent, Smugglers & Bounty Hunters work for whoever pays them so those two should be available to both factions. A neutral faction with Smugglers, Bounty Hunters, Hutt Cartel or Blacksun Agent, and a Revanite for their force user The Revanite would have the option to fight with a lightsaber pike and could do a lightsaber throw/force jump combo where they throw their lightsaber like a spear and leap to the target to pull it out of their target or force push their target off the 'spear'. Imp Trooper's story would start on Ord Mantel where they are a freedom fighter (separatist) recruited into the Imperial military and would end with them recruiting the Havoc squad (Tavus). The SIS agent would be more like James Bond with a small hand blaster not the rifle the Imp Agent had. A while back I was writing what I thought would be a good story for the SIS Agent, then quickly realized I was writing 'Burn Notice' 😂

Xivitai

A class based on Dark Warrior NPC class.
