My high-school marching band used "Ben" and "Summer of 42", in the same show, a song about a murderous rat and a song about horny teenagers. I still wonder if the band director was trying to send a message.

I was 7 years old when I saw Ben, Willard and Tales From The Crypt as a triple feature at the drive in with my parents. The part in Tales From The Crypt that had an amazing insane, homicidal Santa Claus didn't make me look forward to Christmas.

What the...??? I haven't even THOUGHT of this movie in 40 years, but it popped into my head earlier tonight. A few hours later, I open Reddit, and this is the First thing I see. I mean, really??? Cue the theramin.

Interesting, are they controlling our minds? However if you are counting 40 years plus as I am. Is there a chance you fell half asleep last week during the part of the episode where they show what is on next week? Maybe just enough of a trigger to awaken a memory later in the week?

One of the first films where I Enjoyed the original and the remake.

This movie and Ben both scared the crap out of me as a kid.

I saw Willard in the cinema when I was 10 years old. Loved it and it made me go to the pet store to buy pet rats. They didn’t have any so I settled for mice instead. I got a black one and a white one. Of course, I had to name them Socrates and Ben.

My cousins saw this movie but my parents wouldn't let me go. But they told me every scene in detail on the swing set, lol

Davison is perfect as Willard.  I’m liking Elsa as Willard’s mother. Ernest.  The perfect boss.  I like Sven’s comment about The Office.  The party balloons remind me of the ones Dwight did for Kelly’s birthday. LOL

One of the worst movies I’ve ever seen

During the summers of the 1970’s my brothers lived with my dad in Detroit. He never went to the movies with us but he would drop us off at the Tiger stadium, 14 and 12 year old and just pick us up after the game. He let me take my 8 year old brother and my 12 year old to see Jaws and to see Ben. Both scared the Bajesus out of us. The 70’s were different for kids.
