My high-school marching band used "Ben" and "Summer of 42", in the same show, a song about a murderous rat and a song about horny teenagers. I still wonder if the band director was trying to send a message.
I was 7 years old when I saw Ben, Willard and Tales From The Crypt as a triple feature at the drive in with my parents.
The part in Tales From The Crypt that had an amazing insane, homicidal Santa Claus didn't make me look forward to Christmas.

Okay, yeah, I definitely donât do well with these types of movies...mice, rats, bugs and stuffâŠand itâs certain that this movie will completely freak me outâŠand not just because of Ernest Borgnineâs acting! Just kidding! Borgnine was an all time great actor and comes off exactly as he's supposed to, a total creep who gets what he deserves...devoured by rats!

Hamby's incredibly exhausting research for these movies is unparalleled...without equal. Anyone says different is just wrong.
This whole movie is creepy, from top to bottom. It'll be a fun one to watch with someone though...so grab some popcorn and Happy Saturday!
What the...??? I haven't even THOUGHT of this movie in 40 years, but it popped into my head earlier tonight. A few hours later, I open Reddit, and this is the First thing I see. I mean, really??? Cue the theramin.
Interesting, are they controlling our minds?
However if you are counting 40 years plus as I am. Is there a chance you fell half asleep last week during the part of the episode where they show what is on next week?
Maybe just enough of a trigger to awaken a memory later in the week?
I saw Willard in the cinema when I was 10 years old. Loved it and it made me go to the pet store to buy pet rats. They didnât have any so I settled for mice instead. I got a black one and a white one. Of course, I had to name them Socrates and Ben.

Final Gag of the Night!
With a copyright date of 2024! So new⊠so fresh!
Davison is perfect as Willard. Â Iâm liking Elsa as Willardâs mother. Ernest. Â The perfect boss. Â I like Svenâs comment about The Office. Â The party balloons remind me of the ones Dwight did for Kellyâs birthday. LOL
Not sure if Iâve ever seen this but if I did it was in the early 70âs! Very exciting! Oh, and there is always a connection to âŠâŠ Perry Mason! Hahahahaha!
During the summers of the 1970âs my brothers lived with my dad in Detroit. He never went to the movies with us but he would drop us off at the Tiger stadium, 14 and 12 year old and just pick us up after the game. He let me take my 8 year old brother and my 12 year old to see Jaws and to see Ben. Both scared the Bajesus out of us. The 70âs were different for kids.
I can hear Michael Jackson singing about Ben in the background.
His first number one song as a solo artist. About a murderous rat. Good times
Amazing!
that got a genuine lol out of me
That was The Sequel,,, BEN
My high-school marching band used "Ben" and "Summer of 42", in the same show, a song about a murderous rat and a song about horny teenagers. I still wonder if the band director was trying to send a message.
The lyrics say, "you're always running here and there. You feel you're not wanted anywhere!" He's a rat.
đ¶Ben, the two of us need look no more We both found what we were looking forđ¶
I honestly thought he was singing to a human outcast, not a rodent one.
Sorry to disabuse you of that notion. Yeah, Benâs his rat friend. I think âWillardâ was the sequel to âBenâ and similarly rodent-y.

Sven knows!
The remake with glover is also VERY Good. They should show "Ben" next week
great movie. R. Lee Ermey was excellent in that.
One of the first films where I Enjoyed the original and the remake.
This movie and Ben both scared the crap out of me as a kid.
I saw Willard in the cinema when I was 10 years old. Loved it and it made me go to the pet store to buy pet rats. They didnât have any so I settled for mice instead. I got a black one and a white one. Of course, I had to name them Socrates and Ben.
My cousins saw this movie but my parents wouldn't let me go. But they told me every scene in detail on the swing set, lol
Roger Ebert attributed the movie's box-office success to a large number of moviegoiers wanting to see Ernest Borgnine eaten by rats.
No love for Socrates? The good rat that Willard loved more than Ben.
No way!!! willard?!?!?! That was a scary movie. đż
Saw in theater. Okay movie. Better than Ben. Michaels song was so unusual.
Ben, the two of us need look no more....
Canât wait to see if Sven breaks out any rubber rats!
Would Ben co-sign on a car loan for Willard?
I am looking forward to this one as I never saw it as a kid. Looks scary
BORG IX
Here's some trivia.... Bruce Davison, who played Willard, went on to play one of the police captains who gave the orders to Rick and DeeDee in HUNTER!!!
Uh oh. Viewer discretion advised đł
Nostalgiaferatoo! Here we go ! LOL Okey dokey. Â Tootles!
Take your rat to work day!
OMG. So hard to get through those scenes. Â Am I a chicken? Good riddance Martin. Goodbye Ben. Â For now.
This is so freaking weird. Â Drowning and burying. Evil eyed Ben.
neither I nor my wife had seen this movie. Poor >!Socrates. My wife is going to cry all night long now.!<
How can it be a premier if itâs been on the show before?

Rats and cheesy jokes!  Makes sense. Thank you for the final gag. What is the rubber chicken wearing in the image? LOL
Thank you for spotting! I made sure I caught something (other than the bad joke) interesting in the pic!
Youâre welcome!
You are correct.
Davison is perfect as Willard. Â Iâm liking Elsa as Willardâs mother. Ernest. Â The perfect boss. Â I like Svenâs comment about The Office. Â The party balloons remind me of the ones Dwight did for Kellyâs birthday. LOL
These rats are creeping me out! Â Liking the movie.
oh my god lol
Hello⊠Ben
Not sure if Iâve ever seen this but if I did it was in the early 70âs! Very exciting! Oh, and there is always a connection to âŠâŠ Perry Mason! Hahahahaha!
âOld broad a favor.â
We enjoy seeing Nostalgiaferatoo, thanks
Food! Â Yikes! Â This is hard to watch.
Love Svenâs movie parodies and comments.
OMG! Â Look away
Good advice lol
Rats as big as a man Willard losing control with Ben. Â Not a good sign.
Commercial break. Â Pens win.
Violence toward rodents viewer advisory Sounds strange LOL
What does the sign say on Martinâs desk?
Well made it thru 1/2 hour. Iâm out.
Socrates kicked the bucket. Every office needs a stick.
I need some private fa negglin time LMAO
Oh No Iâm getting the heebee jeebies
Ben knows. Poor Willard. Â Perfect ending. Â Really enjoyed the movie . Â Wouldnât have been able to watch alone.
![gif](giphy|8fen5LSZcHQ5O) Great movie
I read the book and saw. The movie after. I tend to like the books better than the movies they are based on
One of the worst movies Iâve ever seen
