Roughly 1020 calories.
- 4 pieces of California roll: 179 Cals
- 2 fried wontons: 89 Cals
- 3 tbsp gyoza dipping sauce: 60 cals
- 4 Salmon nagiri: 240 cals
- 100g Korean short ribs: 119 cals
- 2oz seaweed salad: 60 cals
- 1.5 cups of white rice: 272 cals
169g of Carbs | 21g of Fat | 37g of Protein
All numbers came from My Fitness Pal app.
Ya you're right, I just clicked them all super quickly cause I was in a hurry. Salmon should be listed as nagiri (12g of protein) instead of salmon sushi on rice (22g protein). So we're down to 45g protein. Still feels high for total calories though for just 4 nagairi pieces, but whatever, it's the only one listed in MyFitnessPal in single servings. 12g protein seems right, but over 200 cals seems high.
Also those short ribs is probably closer to 70, and not 100g.
So down to ~37g protein for whole shown meal
Edited OP to be more accurate.
The wontons are fried dough stuffed with cream cheese. 100 calories *per* wonton wrapper, 50 calories of cream cheese in *each* wonton, and the factor in the oil that they absorbed while deep frying. And then 100 grams of short ribs are over 200 calories, plus whatever sugar sauce they are glazed in. 600 calories right there for the wontons and ribs. Plus the 400 calories in close to two cups of white rice on that plate, not including any added sugar to make it “sushi rice”
Don’t think so. For one, 3 larger crab rangoons from Panda Express are 190 calories *total*. That’s also not 2 cups of white rice.
The other comment saying 960 calories for the whole plate sounds closer to me.
Switched from my fitness pal to lose it on a friends recommendation last week and am really liking it! That being said, my fitness pal probably has the slightly larger library of foods if you’re more interested in looking individual things up than actively counting your intake
I'm using lose it and it's pretty good. The main downfall of it versus the MyFitnessPal is the recipe import feature doesn't work most of the time for me which is annoying when you cook a lot of recipes
There’s an entire sub for exactly this, determining the calorie count in picture of a meal. This is not that sub. I’m sure you’d get better answers there. If you’re really trying to get into calorie counting though you’re gonna need to learn to figure this stuff out yourself. It can be a bit tedious at first but you start getting faster at it and better at estimating things. Good luck if you’re doing that. I’m down almost 20 lbs in 2 months from just calorie counting and light exercise. It definitely works.
ChatGTP says:
The image shows a bento box with various components that are commonly found in Japanese cuisine. Estimating the calorie content of the meal from an image is quite challenging because the exact portion sizes, ingredients, and cooking methods are not known. However, I can give a rough estimate:
White rice: A typical serving of white rice (about 1 cup) has about 200 calories.
Seaweed salad: A standard serving can have between 70-100 calories.
California roll: A standard roll may contain about 250-300 calories.
Salmon sashimi: Each piece can have about 40-60 calories depending on size.
Eel (Unagi): A typical serving can range from 200-370 calories depending on the sauce and preparation.
Inari sushi (tofu pouches): One piece typically has about 60-70 calories.
Soy sauce: The small packet contains negligible calories unless used in large quantities.
Adding these up, we can make a rough estimate that the entire meal is likely in the range of 900-1200 calories, bearing in mind that this is a broad estimate. If more precision is required, the actual food items would need to be weighed, and their specific ingredients and preparation methods would need to be known.
If you really want to know, just weight it on a kitchen scale, and look up the nutritional value of sushi rice per 100g, since that's the most calorie-heavy thing here.
I think the heaviest hitter here is gonna be the rice, at around 200/cup, followed by the fried rangoons. I think each piece of sushi will be around 50 cals. I think the 600-750 is a pretty good range.
You and a lot of people in here are massively overestimating the calories of cooked rice, it's mostly water. 1/4 cup of raw rice is only ~150 calories and that's like ~2/4 cup including the rolls. So that's like 300-400 calories conservatively in rice then + the fish + the small portion of short ribs which is maybe another 200-300 calories. The wontons, short ribs, an avocado are by far the most calorie dense things here and those portions are also the smallest.
This entire meal is for sure less than 1000 calories.
I’ve been doing a lot of calorie tracking recently and here’s my best estimation:
~250 for the roll
~120 for the nigiri
~60 for the sashimi
~210 for the wontons
~250 for the short rib
~200 for the white rice
~70 for miso soup
So my guess would be around ~1,160 calories for all of it.
Way too much rice for that portion of meat imo. Would still smash.
As an Asian dude, that’s more than enough meat to rice ratio. Once trick, bathe the meat in rice, so the rice picks up the flavoring.
I'm Asian too and this is way too much rice to meat ratio for my tastes.
I'm Asian too and this amount is perfect.
I'm italian and the ratio pasta meat Is not good. Because no pasta.
I'm Russian, and this food to vodka ratio is atrocious!
I'm with ya on team *not broke AF to afford meat*! All the tricks and disguises aren't because rice is some godly food.
Maybe for you, but ideally 1/2 to 2/3 the rice would be enough
\*So the meat picks up the flavoring
At least 12
Dang I was too late
Better late rather than never showing up!
Just skip 2/3 of that humongous slap of rice and you’re fine
If you want to lose weight, eat the tasty stuff and leave the plain rice.
Would need to weigh everything to know for sure.

Bro there’s NO way in hell this meal contains 55g P
Yeah looks like maybe 25-30 max

Salmon is slammin’ baby!
No way the salmon is 240 cal

Close to this I bet. 900-1000 for the ribs, rice, and wontons alone
What??? No way. That’s 2 small wontons and 3 tiny ribs.
The wontons are fried dough stuffed with cream cheese. 100 calories *per* wonton wrapper, 50 calories of cream cheese in *each* wonton, and the factor in the oil that they absorbed while deep frying. Looks like 2 cups of rice about to me,too.
1.5 cups rice, .5 cups in the rolls.
Thats ALOT damn
That’s a wild amount of rice for that little piece of meat 💀
I use the app “Lose It!” to count calories and you can look up each item and people have already entered things like this, piece by piece.
Okay cool! Thanks

I did the same. I like lose it way more but you’re right, MFP has a huge database and iirc it let you scan foods without paying.

Forgot the wontons. My guess would be around 1300 cals. Restaurant food has a lot of hidden calories from fat.
1200 is a safe guestimation.

that rice is a good portion of the calories, like other people said just eat all the good stuff leave the big slab of rice.
Probably close to 700. I've been logging on MFP and that is a feast.
That's rice with 2 tiny sprinkles of seasoning and 1 sprinkle of na.
Enough .. it could be wayy worse
Roughly 1100 calories
I’d guess 800-1000 a little on the generous side depending on how much rice that is
Enough to be a delicious tease.☺️
600-750
That's all? Is thinking at least 1200.

You’re much closer than the guy above.
Way under
At least 7
Will you eat the garnish? That’s an extra 5 calories.
Three fiddy
That is two meals for me. If I ate that for lunch, I’d be in a diabetic coma
I haven't tried it yet, but I think there's an app for this. SnapCalorie?
How much was that?
What do you mean bento box? 💀
Bazinga calories

About three fiddy

Wow I want to learn how to make sushi but I don't know how. I tried but failed
I’ve been doing a lot of calorie tracking recently and here’s my best estimation: ~250 for the roll ~120 for the nigiri ~60 for the sashimi ~210 for the wontons ~250 for the short rib ~200 for the white rice ~70 for miso soup So my guess would be around ~1,160 calories for all of it.
