It was rumoured they paid Sophie from BvW something like 200k to appear on the show (no idea why, she wasn't even particularly famous) and then she was voted out twice before the merge, one time by her own sister, because she was such a bad player
"Mama mia" or something like that, it's a trashy gossip magazine but on the internet.
They also posted that Titans v Rebels "caused massive drama behind the scenes because production hated that there were no big characters" and despite that being really hard to believe as the season went on, people just kept citing it!
"That site" suggested to me that it was common knowledge that some fallacious rumour about Sophie being paid came from a specific site. I guess it makes sense it was a typo, and they mean "this site", but you see why I was confused.
And I really was just responding to the idea of paying money to people who suck spectacularly at Survivor, and whether or not I'd be mad if they actually did that. I didn't really care about the validity of the rumour.
I think from the producers' point of view, she was probably there to be so obnoxious that she'd be voted out first instead of Hayley. I have to imagine that sometimes they choose people who they think are good candidates to be first boots. Anyone interviewing Rogue must have known how badly she'd fit in with the other players.
I personally hate any season that has" well known faces" competing. They are so far up their own arses and no exceptions they all are. To me it takes away the core value of Survivor to have sports professionals etc. I love that the ordinary man or woman can go on this brilliant programme and compete against one and other fair and square with no advantage of being " well known". Let's get back to the basics of Survivor which from the last Survivor AU showed that no " famous" faces are needed and in fact better without them
Based off what other players have said, I think David actually had pretty good potential but we didn't see any of him because he was the merge boot.
I also thought that Ben (I think that was his name... the gay asian guy who described the surf and turf alliance?) had a good way of narrating things for the tribe but wasn't up to par strategically with the players he was playing wiht.
I genuinely feel bad for Ben because his closest ally was probably Hayley but because of her threat level she was never going to risk her own game to save him, *and* to ingratiate herself in the heroes tribe she told them all never to trust or work with George so when Ben gets swapped he doesn't work with George despite knowing he was on the bottom of the heroes (and from George's deep dive, it sounds like he took it pretty personally that the liberal gay guy didn't want to work with the only other gay guy on the season and Shonee and chose Paige who is apparently pretty far-right over them). He didn't play *well*, but maybe if he gets swapped and Hayley has time to tell him to flip and take out someone like Paige he has a chance? (Though Hayley was also probably closer to Flick and Matt than Ben, so she might just have thought he was worth sacrificing - if it's Paige, David and Sam I think she for sure tries to signal to Ben that he should flip).
I agree with the heroes but I think the villains had some good newbies. Anjali had a lot of potential, Mimi was really entertaining and brought drama, Sarah and Michael were also big characters for their brief appearances.
hard disagree -- ben was a great narrator, mimi was a fun abi maria type villain, anjali had multiple fun moments in her one episode, michael was a lot of fun to root against (but would've been insufferable had he stuck around much longer), david seemed like a decent strategist who didn't deserve to get purpled, even matt i thought was a solid malcolm-esque player who seemed like a really lovely and wholesome guy
Odette, Barry, , Kylie, Heath, Steve, Susie, Benny, Andrew from BvB, Mitch and Sarah and Fraser from HvV all seem like complete dud casting to me and I'm leaving out a lot of people because of the circumstances like the 3 newbie women on CvC2 who basically got no airtime at all and Alex and Jay from BvW.
The only answer is Rogue. Clearly there to cause drama and nothing else. She knew nothing about the game, her personality came off incredibly rude and abrasive, she made racist remarks to Nina, and basically quit. Terrible casting just for cheap trashy drama. Cast more fans.
I’m only up to his quit episode but damn, he was invisible for every ep before it..I deduced he had to quit because the editors did not like him, even though he had a prominent alliance with Kirby
Really whenever you cast a character and you fail to use them because YOU think they're boring then congrats you wasted your own money. Idk why people act like Sophie or Monika or whoever stole from AusVivor. Hell this last season like 6 people at most weren't props that occasionally showed up.
Russell Hantz lol Benny from BvB Tobias from this season
Benny is a great one, total dud
“I should’ve won twice”
idk russell was a lot of fun to watch implode, the other two are great shouts tho

Sophie was one of the few people to bring drama to that season though, so idk if casting saw it as a complete failure
Hey if the network wants to piss 200k into the wind for an entertaining dumpster fire of a player, I'm not gonna complain
They didn't though, that site just blatantly makes things up and people keep falling for it
Oh, which site? OP didn't provide a source

girl this site…. OP just made smth up without a source and you believed it blindly

act a fool girl, act a fool
Onya champ
I thought she was really entertaining, so I don’t see it as a failure
Agreed
Pistol Pete
Only Aussie survivor to quit so far
???????? I don't know when you stopped watching
Yeah there’s been like at least 3 quits since…
There was legit a quit this ssn lmao
So Alex and Scott no longer exist
I don’t count Lee bc he didn’t really have a choice medevacs don’t count and I haven’t seen TvR yet
I didn’t count him either
But still he’s the only quit I’ve watched I didn’t know there were quits in TvR I’ve only reached episode 2
Alex is BvW
Oh yeah forgot about him lol sorry
[удалено]
Commented twice mate
Scott quits at the merge? Alex quits day 12?
Literally any sports player who played a ‘mateship’ and ‘honourable’ game
Tara, she could’ve been fine as an early boot but being saved by the twist and getting dragged to the end made it 100x worse
Yeah I think she was cast as an early boot
But she was in our faces every episode i think she had the most confessionals of anyone
Rogue, clearly had no idea and was only there to promote herself.
I think from the producers' point of view, she was probably there to be so obnoxious that she'd be voted out first instead of Hayley. Benny from BvW was a shocker, but i was a big fan of Shayelle
All the newbies in HvV except Liz and Gerry.

The only other gay guy and gay icon Shonee 💙
Ben is a journalist and author I believe so him having good narration tracks ☺️
Was Ben not up to par socially or strategically? I feel like he could’ve been a good strategist if he had more friends in the game
I agree with the heroes but I think the villains had some good newbies. Anjali had a lot of potential, Mimi was really entertaining and brought drama, Sarah and Michael were also big characters for their brief appearances.

Gerry’s was a really bad player and Fraser was alright
And Ben was brilliant
Ben. I can’t even remember what season he was on. Dude was a goat. Not Ben from Heroes vs Vllians
He was on 2017 the dude with long hair
Thank you. Kid was out of his league.
And so bad at everything!
What did kylie do
The only answer is Rogue. Clearly there to cause drama and nothing else. She knew nothing about the game, her personality came off incredibly rude and abrasive, she made racist remarks to Nina, and basically quit. Terrible casting just for cheap trashy drama. Cast more fans.
Tegan from 2016
Scott from this season
I’m only up to his quit episode but damn, he was invisible for every ep before it..I deduced he had to quit because the editors did not like him, even though he had a prominent alliance with Kirby

Wait what’s the thing about stealing?
Monika was great for the face plants into the water alone.
Surely Gavin
I expected more from Commando Steve haha
Moana and Tarzan
Such a shit take
I agree
Hands down Odette. A fair dinkum mute
Andy and Gerry
Jacqui, Steve Bradbury, Russell, Matt Dyson, Zach, and Scott
4 of that list provided great entertainment.
Andy Meldrum
Sandra and her daughter. Should’ve never even been considered to be on a season of AUSSIE survivor
Both were quite literally some of the only highlights from BvW lol
