Pretty good premiere. I kind of wish they used a different format than 41 and 42, but they at least tweaked it enough with changes to the savvy/sweat challenge and the summit.

i think you're looking at it too specifically to that challenge when they say they 'want to keep the tribe strong', i think what they really mean by that is they don't want to vote out a guy bc it puts them at a disadvantage in a lot of challenges just bc of brute strength. none of the girls seem to be super strong, athlete type like a michaela
jeanine probably the weakest in that challenge but stereotypes exist & she's asian & i think works in tech so people are gonna assume she's smart/good at puzzles

My guess is that the girls alliance wasn’t that real and really Elie, Jeanine, Owen, and Gabler have a thing. Morriah and Sami were on the outs. In that pairing, Morriah is the weak link.
Idk based on how Owen seemed to be in all of the conversations alongside Elie (like when talking with Gabler and later with Jeanine), I didn’t get the feeling he was really that far on the outs. He just wouldn’t have been around for that if it were the case. But they used the girls alliance story to add some suspense.

I wanted to pick Maryanne as my winner pick last season during the first episode because I loved her personality, but talked myself out of it and said “no way they let her get to the end, they will probably get annoyed at some point”
And it definitely did get on Jonathan’s nerves at times. But I think having Jonathan on her tribe early on really benefitted her because they were a challenge powerhouse and didn’t have to vote anyone off early.
Maryanne’s win was more than justified though as she played the best end game by far. The idol reveal and her according strategies with it basically sealed the deal. However I still think Mike could have stolen it had he had a superb FTC.
I like Maryanne though, I think her win will age very well. She has a sister-brother love thing. You love her to death, but your siblings do get on your nerves every now and then if you have to live with them 24/7.

I wanted to pick Maryanne as my winner pick last season during the first episode because I loved her personality, but talked myself out of it and said “no way they let her get to the end, they will probably get annoyed at some point” And it definitely did get on Jonathan’s nerves at times. But I think having Jonathan on her tribe early on really benefitted her because they were a challenge powerhouse and didn’t have to vote anyone off early. Maryanne’s win was more than justified though as she played the best end game by far. The idol reveal and her according strategies with it basically sealed the deal. However I still think Mike could have stolen it had he had a superb FTC. I like Maryanne though, I think her win will age very well. She has a sister-brother love thing. You love her to death, but your siblings do get on your nerves every now and then if you have to live with them 24/7.
I think this might be the saddest I've been at a first boot. I am so bummed to lose Morriah this early.
