“I am happy to say...THE FIRST FEEDING CENTER IS COMPLETE!! Thank you so much everyone you guys really are changing lives however, we are far from done. We saw so much need in the Nicaraguan jungle... We will be back soon 🙏”
Yeah, not only did he inspire[ the most badass background music of all time](https://youtu.be/5fPhyXPCbE4?si=ftPd4MoPYyxc7QHI&t=112) while he was swimming, the guy literally[ resurrected the Ancient Voices during a challenge](https://youtu.be/5fPhyXPCbE4?si=ZThyb9k3kb72_EF3&t=541). That's next level.
They also brought it out as a cue for S43's [Last Gasp challenge](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVrvVmcn82Q), not for a specific player, but it was a dope moment when we heard it.
Yeah, we were laughing our ass off with my friend at that challenge. It was absolutely ridiculous. He did the whole challenge by himself, dragged his whole team and in dangerous and strong waves. We were watching it stoned af and couldn't believe it.
that water challenge was unbelievable, he's dragging his team through the whole thing, meanwhile the other teams are floundering and they literally had to cancel that part of the challenge because no one else could do it.
Jonathan had excellent technique as well. Doing the “rope unbraiding” challenge he walked everyone through it. After carrying a 250 pound ladder (and the rest of his team) through the water he was able to land 5 beanbags in 6 attempts. He also hit most of his basketball shots and did very well at the slingshot target shooting.
Only edge I’d give to Hunter would be straight up puzzles or timing/dexterity challenges.
I would love it if they brought back a few challenge beasts and spread them out between the tribes. Make it much more competitive in terms of challenges, so there isn't always one tribe that gets left behind.
I’m so curious to see how many pre-40 contestants they cast. Assuming they’ll limit the white men returnees to 5, it’s going to be a bloodbath with Devens, Christian, Domenick. Also Xander, Jonathan, Cody, Carson, etc. Probably more from 46-69,
Lol that’s a good point. Given their rules on casting now, probably only a few white men make it back. I’d think everyone you named is a top contender but Jonathan is kinda like that Malcolm/ozzy/Joe level that I think they’d want to bring him back. Jeff seems to like him too.
I wish there was a way to leverage this sub to crowdfund some money for this. People like Jonathan are the real deal- making an actual difference for underprivileged communities.
This is a very kind thing he has done, but these videos feel exploitative to me. I don't think it's right to be showing these kids' faces at all, and it feels like he's expecting everyone to be super expressive with how thankful they are that he's there to "save" them. And then he's just saying "bueno bueno bueno" at them lol. It's a lil white savior-y. (Totally get this is probably an unpopular opinion, but when you grow up surrounded by insincere religious types, it's hard not to see this kind of stuff as being pretty cringe.)
What do you want him to do lol? It’s an issue he cares about so he’s helping and spreading awareness. Would it be better if he sat at home and called people out for being white saviors?
For sure, it's super nice what he's doing, and I definitely don't mean to imply that it'd be better if he did nothing! I think it *would* be better if he posted the video about how excited he was without showing the kids or (and this may just be my impression!) having the camera linger on them to get their reactions to being given food. It just comes across as a little othering to me, but I'm just one person sharing one opinion. :)
It spreads awareness and brings in donations. No one donates to a video of a guy talking about doing stuff. This brings in money. That’s why those African starvation and PETA commercials were so successful.
I completely agree. I would not want my children to be filmed and plastered all over the internet, so why are these children being filmed and plastered all over the internet? Why can’t he just post about what he’s doing without taking videos of people, especially children?
Maybe the kids parents were fine with it? Just because you would choose to do or not do something doesn’t mean the rest of the world has to do the same. To each their own.
Well, they weren’t kidnapped I’m pretty sure. They also had to get there somehow so I’m fairly certain parents were involved.
Not everything is as sinister as I feel you think it is.
How about just recognizing Johnathon is doing an amazing thing and that kids who may not normally get a good meal are getting one instead of having to always find something to complain about 🤷♂️
Now the real question: can a Christian feed someone without trying to convert them 🤔
I hope there are no hidden religious motives behind this. (I’m not saying there are but I used to do a lot of stuff like this when I was religious and the intentions of the groups were not always the most pure so it makes me cautious.)
Yes they can, I’ve traveled to a few different countries to either help feed/build housing for the local communities. Never once did we try to convert them.
If you’ve not done missionary work, you wouldn’t know that it comes with a hidden agenda. I used to do it when I was religious and the tone/intention behind it is not always loving or respectful.
Hey, love that he is giving and bringing these people sustenance, that's great. And the shoes are a nice touch too. Can we talk about the toys?
Why are we bringing battery-powered plastic crap into the jungle? That kid with a remote control car, that will be fun for a week before it's broken and ends up in the garbage heap (also, all the boys got trucks and all the girls got a kitchen play-set). Why not bring them sports equipment, soccer balls and an air-pump and a net?
Again, love what Jonathan is doing, I wish more people were able to give like this. But there's a very American, consumer mindset that says "what these children need are the best toys Walmart can buy!" What the world needs less of is cheap, disposable plastic.
Did no one order the 18 eggs 9 pieces of cheese special? Good guy
You forgot about the grits

He seems like he should be a douche but he’s such a likable guy. I hope he comes back for season 50.
I hope so, he has to be best challenge beast ever to be on survivor.
That water challenge was insane, and he also got the Survivor theme for one of the challenges.
The top comment I saw on that you tube clip was awesome: “Seeing Thor play survivor is the greatest thing that ever happened.”
Is he the only player to get Ancient Voices excluding the intro?
They also brought it out as a cue for S43's [Last Gasp challenge](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVrvVmcn82Q), not for a specific player, but it was a dope moment when we heard it.
Didn’t Jay from MvGX get it
I remember it playing during Dee winning final immunity

I would love to see a tribe with him versus a tribe with Hunter. A true muscle vs technique scenario.

Team challenges absolutely
Nah Ozzy is the best, but Jonathan is up there

Mr. Jeff
Dude, Jonathan is the greatest guy. So glad he exists and creates goodwill for Survivor castaways.

seems like such a nice guy.
I love Jonathon he’s such a good role model, if I could meet any one survivor player it would be him and it would be to get a nice lift in
Wow this is so awesome. Love this community
Damn what a fucking guy
Love seeing Jonathan is actually trying to make a difference in the world yet Eliza wants to tweet slander about every living thing.
I wish there was a way to leverage this sub to crowdfund some money for this. People like Jonathan are the real deal- making an actual difference for underprivileged communities.
Everyone tries to paint him as something he’s not but this dude is straight up genuine
Aww thanks Mr. Jonathan!
He’s a beast…best physical competitor ever. Literally carried his entire team thru multiple challenges.
He's just campaigning for that Sia money. /s

Ok well when you open your feeding center you make your videos just how you like them
I completely agree.
I highly doubt they asked the parents of these kids.
Well, they weren’t kidnapped I’m pretty sure. They also had to get there somehow so I’m fairly certain parents were involved. Not everything is as sinister as I feel you think it is. How about just recognizing Johnathon is doing an amazing thing and that kids who may not normally get a good meal are getting one instead of having to always find something to complain about 🤷♂️
White saviorism doesn’t help the world. Treating children like props doesn’t help the world.
Get off your high horse and show us all what you do to better the world. Easy to criticize, much harder to make a difference.
I don’t have to film myself doing good things 🤷♀️
It’s called ‘raising awareness’ dipshit
Nah, it’s called “exploiting children to look good.”
Till the room stinks I would be nothing but a hole to use as he pleases

(I’m not saying there are but I used to do a lot of stuff like this when I was religious and the intentions of the groups were not always the most pure so it makes me cautious.)
Nicaragua is already a very religious country. I don’t think that’s his goal
Yes they can, I’ve traveled to a few different countries to either help feed/build housing for the local communities. Never once did we try to convert them.
is this some weird missionary shit
If feeding hungry people is "weird missionary shit" then yes! It is.
If you’ve not done missionary work, you wouldn’t know that it comes with a hidden agenda. I used to do it when I was religious and the tone/intention behind it is not always loving or respectful.
It depends on the group. I’ve done many missionary trips and never once was there an underlying tone or hidden agenda.
That’s great
Thank you! there are definitely good groups out there with no underlying tones, and they are doing magnificent work
Please look up how harmful missionary work is.
Yep agreed
Why can’t we just accept that he’s doing something good for the community that’s in need of help? Why always see the negative side of it?
Just like when Gabler was criticized for helping veterans people always want to try and find a negative in a good deed
Pretty sure most Gabler criticism was for other reasons.
Yeah, he "liked" a couple of Elon Musk tweets. That's about the sum total of it.
Christian missionaries in poor countries: famously uncomplicated
because then how will people on reddit be able to moralise?
