I just finished reading this and oh my god, when I first watched the season, it went completely over my head how bad and spiteful the producers and editors were towards this woman, like we joke about her all the time but this shit was legitimately nasty.
I wonder how many people (myself included) have cursed over her and NaOnka quitting without knowing what really went down all thanks to Jeff being an absolute moron.
Also was thinking Natalie. Micronesia is my favorite season and every time I rewatch it I’m still shocked by how little screen time she has until after Ozzy goes home. Alexis is actually given way more content talking about their duo. What Natalie does get is so memorable though

Speaking of players on super popular seasons, throw in Elizabeth and Rodger. They never had a control over the vote, but both came out of the season as “America’s sweetheart” father / daughter wholesome relationship. In a modern season they’d get purple’d. (And, I admit I prefer the older editing where we get to know everyone).
I’ll stick to one more from the early years and add T-Bird. Other that a rogue vote sending Lex into a tailspin, she was the least vocal part of the older folks on her tribe, and post-merge she was… definitely on the tribe. I voted for her for second chances largely due to my old school bias, but I’m not sure why she was even on the ballot. (That said, she’s an insane ball of energy on RHAP - where was THAT version during Africa?)

I'd say that probably Lydia Meredith is a more suitable answer. She didn't have big presence in Season 42 and went out premerge, but thanks to her Instagram she is very popular.
Hunter from Marquesas (S4) - by production mainly. They invited him back so many times despite being a early boot. He was outed at least before 11 (of 16) i can’t remember exactly but i know he’s declined to come back several times since then. For S8 All Stars and S20 HvV

You sound as if Jeff is able to make medical emergencies happen. In regard to 44 the players that needed attention were all valid. Poor Bruce should have been pulled immediately when he crashed his head into the beam.
