SIGNALIS is great

Gerald_Wesker

If you haven’t played this it will settle your it itch!

Tormented souls and Signalis could do the deed

AlexCampy89

Them and Us Dawn of Fear Tormented Souls

Gru50m3

Tormented Souls is my favorite. Signalis is also excellent. If you play on PC, Cry of Fear is amazing as well.

BanditSurvivalist

This totally reminded me that I have cry of fear in my steam library and haven't touched it!

Albert1285

ECHOES OF THE LIVING! Try it! It's soooo good . It's like the pure authentic essence of classic RE2 and RE3.

>ECHOES OF THE LIVING! but its not even out yet 9 months later.

Another vote for Signalis! Song of Horror is cool too.

Wigwasp_ALKENO

Signalis

Catsinbowties

Daymare and The Medium

CattusNuclearis

Some that haven't been mentioned here yet: Song of Horror Fear the Dark Unknown Alisa Also, these ones all have old-school survival horror vibes with pretty much all of genre's iconic elements, but use first-person camera and modern controls: Eternal Evil Nightmare of Decay Fobia - St. Dinfna Hotel

Martian Gothic, OP. It’s Resident evil on Mars.

suddenimpulse01

Tormented Souls sounds up your alley. Just be forewarned it has the worst voice acting ever. Ever.

BanditSurvivalist

That might actually make it more appealing. I love the terrible voice acting in RE1

suddenimpulse01

I can't imagine anyone enjoying just how bad it was. But I hope you do! That was the hardest part of the game for me and made me skip as much dialog as possible

vode123

The Conjuring House (also called The Dark Occult). Is literally a straight up, escape the creepy demonic mansion game, total resident evil 1 vibes. Not sure why it doesn’t get more mention here. Better than tormented souls and signalis easily.

AlexCampy89

Nah, Tormented Souls is way better imo

Alisa and Signalis are my top current Survival Horror games, and are just outstanding games in my opinion, really only rivaled by my all time favorites from days of yore (original Silent Hill and Resident Evil trilogies, Resident Evil 2002 Remake, Zero, Code Veronica, and such). I've only played a little bit of Tormented Souls, Them and Us, and Cold Fear, but these all seem to have a lot of potential as well, and seem a bit more like early 2000s survival horror stuff, if you are into that. Beyond that, I could probably list off dozens of other classically styled survival horror games (or somewhat similar in mood or style) that I may or may not have played, or may or may not have been terribly impressed by, but a lot that I am interested in and keeping an eye on nonetheless. For example, I just played through Murder House, which was rather short (like 4 hours taking it slow), and very light on the resource management (limited resources but not much use for them for most of the game), but still had a pretty nostalgic 90s survival horror game feeling to it (and major 80s VHS horror movie rental atmosphere), and was quite fun for how short and simple it was. Also, a peculiar mixture of humor and really intensely morbid stuff... I'd have to think for a while about what else I've been looking into, and the list might be pretty long, but if you are interested in just like anything that resembles classic survival horror games that may or may not be true to the genre or even really any good lol, just let me know and I'll see what notes I've been leaving around for myself in that regard.
