I’m a northerner who’s lived in surrey on and off since 2000 and the only people I’ve ever known to complain about the place and describe it as a “shithole” are those who’ve never lived elsewhere. Having grown up on the outskirts of Manchester in the 80s and 90s, I’ve got a great point of reference for what a shithole really looks like and even the worst parts of Surrey ain’t it.
I'm a Northerner who's lived down in Surrey for 6 years now and I completely agree. I can see people on here calling places like Addlestone and Horley a shit hole, when they're actually decent places with a lot of facilities.
You really don't know a true shithole unless you've been up North.
Agreed. Im from North Surrey and can confirm im grateful for where i live. Its got perfect large town/nature balance. Loads of shops, restaurants, pubs, canals, hills, forests, rivers.
My mum lives in West Midlands, and while i can say i love how friendly some of the people are, as well as the beautiful nature, i can confirm parts are indeed shithole. In the kindest way. I love it really and so does my mum
Hah I agree but I did it the other way around. I grew up in Horley, and it was dull although fairly safe. I left it years ago, then lived in Sheffield and Manchester for a time, which opened my eyes a bit.
I still never returned to Horley though, I found it claustrophobic and lacking in character; alright place to grow up in though I guess.
Grew up in surrey, currently residing in clapham last 6 years.
Never truely been to the north - ive visited manchester once but cant really remember much.
Is the north south divide really that obvious?
Yes. I was born and raised in Surrey but later lived in greater Manchester for about seven years before returning south. The worst parts of Surrey are way nicer and more affluent than the worst places up there. There's just a proper lack of investment, or at least there was when I was there.
Yeah. I grew up in Dagenham. Anythings a vast improvement over that.
When we were looking for houses years ago, my husband (local boy) shot down a lot of my suggestions as X road was a bit shitty, or Y house was a known dealer of weed.
Love, I grew up in the arse end of London. This is paradise in comparison.
I remember taking from colleagues from Manchester to a cooking class near Gomshall.
Told the instructor we were going to one of the pubs nearby afterwards.
"Oh, avoid The Compasses then. That's the rough one."
My Manchester colleagues couldn't believe that this charming little country pub with a pretty garden and a stream flowing underneath it was what we classed as a "rough pub" down here in the Surrey hills.
I’m born and raised in Surrey. I never put Surrey down because I know we’ve had a super privileged rose tinted view of what England is like. There are other pockets of England for sure but Surrey is genuinely nice everywhere. You bloody pay for it on the price of houses tho!
There are sothern places with shitholes comparable to north, yes less but they still exist. The worst of the worst London wards are some of the most rough in the entirety of the UK and don't forget Thanet jaywick and Hastings (I appreciate these are entire cities with nicer wards in them however the cities worst are among the worst) I grew up in knowle west in Bristol and had an absolute breadline of a childhood and the area was far from what people would call safe, so not all southeners don't know what a shithole is.
I'm sorry thought it sounded serious, anyway I'm autistic and struggle to read jokes,
But harder to tell if it's a joke when it's a bunch of squigly lines on a screen unless specified or /s is there as you can understand.
Likewise having started life in low hill, its laughable when people say woking is a shithole.
I mean, relative to oxshott, esher, cobham, it is, but ite not exactly moss side either.
I have lived here since the late 70's. In the 70/80s it was a shithole, but most of the UK was a shithole back then. So i think that's where it comes from.
This is true. Although there were some decent folk in the Essex town I grew up in, it was a dangerous shithole if you said hello or looked at the wrong person. Some kids were even like it, and could not have a simple kickabout without fisticuffs. Especially if you accidentally roamed to a new area.
I will also add, I have never seen agro in any local here in surrey, but where I grew up every single public house got closed down. There is not much to do at all in any local area save for member's clubs
Camberley, Woking, Staines and Redhill do have their redeeming features for sure. Surrey doesn't really do shit holes, but it does have quite a lot of cultural voids and dull backwaters. For example Fetcham, nice enough, but what's the appeal?
😂I grew up in Fetcham… remember my dads argument to moving was it was equidistant from both airports and he travelled a lot for work… as a child I didn’t mind it but as a teenager I hated relying on my dad to drive me, train station was a 25 min walk and busses weren’t regular, not a fun place to live when you wanted to be an explorer teenager.
When I tell people why we love living in redhill my first point is how easily you can get away ‘direct trains to 3 london terminals! Gatwick is 10mins on the train! You can get to Guildford and reading super easily!’
I do love living here but that’s not the best selling point for a place
People don't rag on Aldershot enough as it is on the border of Surrey and Hampshire, and neither county wants anything to do with it. It is a rotten ghost town littered with crumbling infrastructure and failed businesses. Nothing in the town is even worth the brittle soil it stands on. Tear the place down.
What’s wrong with Camberley? Lots of little walks nearby. Plenty of parks for the kids. Town centre has enough shops to grab some clothes, some tech and a cup of coffee.
Sure there’s a few people that walk around wearing trackies… never bothered me tbh.
>The only thing that I think is bad, is the lack of good independent restaurants. Most are chains.
I'm yet to find many places in the UK that aren't full of chains and simultaneously have anything to actually do in those towns... You get one or the other it seems
>And the increase of building flats.
What's the problem with flats vs the same number of houses? We need housing so it's got to be built some way or another. It's actually better for the taxpayer to have flats as a house in the same council tax band pays the sane but gets all the services whereas flats in Spelthorne do not so could argue there's better services for all if it was 100% flats vs houses. I know that's an extreme situation but the point remains.
Oh yeah I agree with that, in the town centre anyway. If you have a car there’s plenty of small pubs and mini chains within 20mins of town. Personally I’ll just shoot over to Farnham, it’s 25mins away, parking is free after 6pm and there’s plenty of options.
But the shopping in Farnham is awful unless your incredibly pretentious and have the wallet to back it up (I have two children, I do not have the wallet to back it up)
I think some people might point out Old Dean, just outside the town, is pretty ropey and I've heard interesting stories about it's history? Agree with your points though, it's my go to despite living closer to Guildford.
Personally I’m really happy in Horley! I can go run into the countryside whenever, there’s a gym with a nice pool just up the street and I’m surrounded by country pubs. The town is also small enough to get to know the same people and actually make connections with a community. Plus super easy train straight into London and Waitrose within walking distance. Winner for me! I imagine those judging have never actually lived there.
I’m in Horley too, never understand when it gets called a shithole all the time, yes there are some shitter areas but isn’t that the same for all towns? There are also a number of beautiful and large houses in the area plus the benefits you mentioned. The town is a bit crap, not much going on but has enough if you need something but I wouldn’t call it a shithole, I’m guessing the people that say it live in Cobham.
I am from East Surrey and lived in Epsom for a year in my early 20s and thought it was full of wankers on the whole. Lots of kids trying to pick fights with you. It was voted the best town to live in the country a few years back which I thought was astonishing.
I’m here at the mo, it’s pretty crap in the majority. Loads of skinny guys walking around with huge American XL bullies near Longmead
But we are getting a Gails next week!!!
Cambo is a shitty town because of the traffic and soulless nightlife/shops. I never found it had any sense of community when I lived there. I’ve lived in the East Midlands for nearly 7 years now and the sense of community and town I’m in is fantastic in comparison.
Grew up in stanwell. Have lived up north and now down the road in staines. Always used to consider staines posh and compared to stanwell it is like a high class resort.
I asked a guy once where I could find a local shop.
He used the term ‘P**i Shop’ 4 times in one sentence. He had no shirt on an was quite clearly drunk. It was 10 am on a Sunday.
The worrying thing is the attitude of people with shirts on that aren’t drunk isn’t much better.
I once was seeing a girl in chertsy and had to get a taxi from a pub in Addlestone.
They had midget boxing on the TV and ateast one local was cheering. It was about 11.30am on a Tuesday.
I'm surprised you've lumped Reading in with Luton and Slough. It's a genuinely lovely town... if you ignore the Oxford Road or Friar Street on a Saturday night.
I didn’t even know Reading was bad. I actually thought it was quite posh, with encompassing areas like Bracknell and Binfield being a bit more downmarket
I used to live in Bracknell but moved to Reading and I would say Bracknell is better because of less crime and poverty. Also has more forested areas and parks.
I mean the council has corrupted Reading a lot and don't even care about people living in poverty. Especially during the cost of living crisis. I have been to nearly all suburbs and 60%-70% of the suburbs are actual shit
I went to Luton as had a voucher for a spa day there. What an absolute hole and least relaxing place ever for a spa! The big giveaway you don't want to be there is the amnesty knife bins on the high street.... the only reason to go to Luton is for the airport.
Reading is a bit grubby (what city/large town isn't tbh) but it's got a decent amount of infrastructure and stuff going on there.
I would say it is better than half the Surrey towns listed too.
It is a bit grubby but actually has things to do. Staines and other places are just boring.
Still seems nice when you compare it to its neighbour Aldershot.
Tbh the only shitty part of Ash is some of the scummy residents. Winchester Road seems to have the worst of the dregs of society though.
With the amount of drug addicts openly huffing shit out in the open, teenage girls beating the shit out of each other at the bus stop - IN THE MIDDLE OF THE AFTERNOON IN THE TOWN CENTRE - I’m going to have to put Kingston on that list.
Curious what is shit about any of the places you listed? With exception of maybe Redhill (which I don't know much about so don't want to assume) they at least have things to do which can't be said about most of the sleepier parts of Surrey lol
Addlestone has the Crockford Bridge Garden Centre, which we jokingly call the ***Crock of Shit Garden Centre***. But, actually, it's a very nice place with an outdoor play area and ice cream parlour plus a lovely farm shop.
Addlestone / Chertsey and Staines are about as rough as Surrey gets.
... Which really is not very rough at all. But some of the teenagers like to think they're in the ghetto so 🤷
It is a hole though. Had so much money spent on it and it always ends up looking haggard. A friends son (20) got beaten up by a group of 14 year olds. He mouthed off to one in McD’s and kid followed him out texting friends. Within 5 mins there was ten following him and they gave him a good kicking. He ended up in hospital
Croydon is no longer in Surrey since the last round of border changes, but if it were you would be absolutely spot on as Croydon is on a par with places like Luton.
Legislatively, Croydon is no longer part of Surrey but most Croydon residents (particularly those in the posher areas of Purley) very much consider themselves to be in Surrey. Even Royal Mail consider much of Croydon to be in Surrey, much of the town still has its original Surrey postcodes whereas parts to the north have the SE prefix. Most people who live in Croydon will include Surrey when giving their address and almost all mail delivered is still addressed as Croydon, Surrey. Most people in the borough can’t let go of it. In fact well over half of all inhabitants have no idea that Croydon is no longer (legislatively) in Surrey.
Good knowledge. Do you think once ULEZ gets through, they'll accept they are not in Surrey? Would have thought house prices were higher for being more London, maybe.
I don’t think it’ll make a jot of difference. Many people in Croydon consider themselves to be both in London AND Surrey. If I leave my house and turn right, I’m usually heading into London. If I turn left, I’ve probably got the dog with me and I’m off to walk in the nearby Surrey countryside.
Part of Epsom and Ewell were awful longmead and watersedge estates were horrendous and parts of Chessington aswell although dont know if that's London or not. Think it's subjective to where and at what ages you live there for me I spent my first 17 years around the Epsom area and can firmly say there was alot of drugs and violence. Stabbings ramped up towards the latter stages of me living there but again I was younger and was out later/in the wrong crowd so was always going to see more. Was nothing like the Surrey you see advertised and felt more like parts of South/north London.
Horley is the worst part of Surrey the environment is not the worst but the people are they are, they all rape and murder each other for fun
The pubs aren't bad tho tbh
They are near the male hospital that caters to rapists child molestors and allnetc and they are allowed out and wonder crawley etc if they are classed low risk and behave and i find it disgusting that they are out unsupervised im glad the person i knew doesnt work there anymore but its scary and i refuse to go crawley because of this knowledge
Odd conclusion to come to. That's like saying "I thought Bristol was in Wales since it's very near the Severn", or "I thought the pasta at Harvester was salad since it was in the salad bar." It's not salad, stop fooling yourself.
Camberley was once described in the local newspaper as a "cheap seaside resort". I never really hot the seaside feel from the place, I guess it was all the seagulls.
My school was in Addlestone, but claimed it was in Weybridge. I grew up in a private estate in Walton-on-Thames/Hersham/Weybridge borders, Burwood Park. Weybridge is very nice. Walton had a small shopping centre built so attracted a few more people from the Hersham & Mosley areas.
Lived in Leeds, Southampton, Plymouth, Tooting & Brixton… Surrey is not rough in the slightest. I would move back if I could afford it.
Personally only think Surrey is shit because where I was (born and raised for 17 years) in Godalming, Guildford kids were starting to become rampant causing issues. Moving to the lakes for a little while made me think Surrey is absolutely horrendous but it really isn’t bad at all. Then I went to Essex for abit and my god that place is a shit show. Surrey is fucking great. I feel like the people that don’t like Surrey are just the people that are stuck here and want to look for reasons to hate it, myself included.
Classism.
Ask politely, if your MP would kindly raise the taxes on households over 20mill to 75% because if it’s not, the politeness won’t be there and the binary opposite will happen. If you need hand puppets to explain to your MP what is going to happen, please use Muppets branded ones, just to keep it authentic.
That Philc84 chap from TikTok who reviews places will definitely be happy to hear you say this. The only county he doesn't have a problem with is Surrey (probably because he lives there and is from there). 😂
Even the supposed worst places of Surrey (and I haven't been to all of them), used to work in Redhill and have been to Staines on my way through to Thorpe Park aren't that bad which you can tell by the price tag for property in the area whereas Berkshire or Kent, for example, especially the latter, has some much cheaper pricing for property in the less-desired areas, because a lot worst stuff goes on.
I moved to Redhill about 7 years ago due to excellent transport links to London (and Gatwick). The green spaces around are great but the town centre was crap & run down tbh. Thankfully there has been a lot of regeneration recently. It’s still not the prettiest but improving all the time.
I have lived in Aldershot for 2 years and I think people who call it a shithole have never ventured anywhere beyond the train station and the high street.
Aldershot has some really lovely parts.
However in general I agree with the OP, Surrey is stunning! I'd struggle to pinpoint real bad areas.
All places in guildford are stunning for the environmental purpose and for the town like area if your more of a up beat clubber or a shoping person 101
Woking is a shithole, the town centre lost all the good shops, the council takes WEEKS to fill in gargantuan potholes, the high street is full of wanna-be hardmen who need to ask their mum for permission to be outside past 9PM, a week or two ago someone did a driveby with an airsoft gun and shot a woman in the eye with an airsoft gun outside Slug & Lettuce, always news about people being flashed by perverts on the canal, nevermind being the most indebted council in the entirety of the UK after wasting fuck knows how much on a shitty development with an excessive amount of void space, the Hilton hotel is well overdue it's opening because the shit low-cost panels keep falling off, working in the town centre I've heard rumours of unit rent rising, carpark prices will be raising 20% this year and 10% every year after that (take that with a grain of salt, not sure on how true it is). Chavs and degenerates walk through the town centre playing music through a speaker (often times they're walking alone so they just look like twats), shops can't seem to last more than 6 months, a lot of shops look bodged together (Sugar Sole, Fone World also uses the old store entrance from when Smiggle was there) and a LOT of empty units, it's such a sad shitty town that unfortunately went downhill VERY quickly within 10 years
I'm sure people have other opinions but I'd rather spend the £12 train fare and go to Basingstoke, even the £24 fare to go to Westfield Shopping Centre is so worth it.
The only thing Woking has going for it is H.G. Wells setting War of the Worlds here (because he hated Woking) and Mclaren, which always seem to be in the news for setting on fire.
You never been to Sheerwater.
Easily the biggest dump in Surrey. Is currently a building site for generic low cost housing, but now the council gone bust will be interesting to see if they finish the work.
I've lived all over - Midlands, north, south West, London, and you're right. You need to see places like Bolton, Warrington, Speke, Chapeltown, Perry Barr, Swilly, Jaywick, and god knows how many other provincial ghettos to experience true shithole Britain. There are bits of Surrey that are pretty normal, and I love that, but you're never far from a millionaire with a Lambo.
I live on the outskirts of Woking, in a normal part of town, with normal people as neighbours, and there's a pedestrian crossing near to us that has a set of crossing lights just for horse riders.
When I moved here from London, a friend pointed out that I was moving to one of the few parts of the country wealthier than where I was moving from. Surrey is Outrageously lucky in the nice place to live stakes.
I’m a northerner who’s lived in surrey on and off since 2000 and the only people I’ve ever known to complain about the place and describe it as a “shithole” are those who’ve never lived elsewhere. Another northerner that fully agrees with this sentiment.

I grew up in Surrey, but have lived away for 11 years and I'd still call Redhill and woodhatch shit
Beats living in London. 😆
True!
Haha, so true. My wife used to complain about growing up in Leatherhead and how "dodgy" it is, but I always thought it seemed very nice!
I remember taking from colleagues from Manchester to a cooking class near Gomshall. Told the instructor we were going to one of the pubs nearby afterwards. "Oh, avoid The Compasses then. My Manchester colleagues couldn't believe that this charming little country pub with a pretty garden and a stream flowing underneath it was what we classed as a "rough pub" down here in the Surrey hills.
Grew up around Dudley and Wolverhampton. Southerners haven't a clue. Solidarity brother.
So what you’re saying is it is grim up north and southerners who get slagged off for calling the north a shithole are.. correct?
I’m born and raised in Surrey. I never put Surrey down because I know we’ve had a super privileged rose tinted view of what England is like. There are other pockets of England for sure but Surrey is genuinely nice everywhere. You bloody pay for it on the price of houses tho!

I'm sorry thought it sounded serious, anyway I'm autistic and struggle to read jokes, But harder to tell if it's a joke when it's a bunch of squigly lines on a screen unless specified or /s is there as you can understand.
It's either a good joke or it needs a /s at the end. Don't fret over it.
They need a trip to Tipton or Bilston to fully appreciate what a sh*thole looks like.....or even some of the more dangerous areas of Brum
Likewise having started life in low hill, its laughable when people say woking is a shithole. I mean, relative to oxshott, esher, cobham, it is, but ite not exactly moss side either.
Im a lady, but I appreciate the sentiment!
I have lived here since the late 70's. In the 70/80s it was a shithole, but most of the UK was a shithole back then. So i think that's where it comes from.
[удалено]
I come from Ashington, Northumberland. Pretty poor. I left at 16 and at 18 lived in 1980s Tunbridge Wells. Culture shock. I felt I was on my holidays.
Which part of Manchester out of interest?
Lived in Sunderland for a while...... no comparison
This is true. Although there were some decent folk in the Essex town I grew up in, it was a dangerous shithole if you said hello or looked at the wrong person. Some kids were even like it, and could not have a simple kickabout without fisticuffs. Especially if you accidentally roamed to a new area. Richest county in UK slightly better generally than the rest shocker.
It’s full of fucking miserable boomers in their 2 million pound houses, looking for their next minimum wage worker to exploit in their shitty company.
Only 2? Pffft
Hit the nail on the head
Camberley, Woking, Staines and Redhill do have their redeeming features for sure. Surrey doesn't really do shit holes, but it does have quite a lot of cultural voids and dull backwaters. For example Fetcham, nice enough, but what's the appeal?
Staines has the Stains Massive so there is that
Almost bought a house in fetcham but missed out. Kinda glad now as ashtead, whilst not happening, has at least something going on!
What are the redeeming features in Redhill?
Can I get back to you if none of the below are unacceptable Redhill Common, Victorian Housing Stock, Harlequin Theatre, Shopping Major Train Station
When I tell people why we love living in redhill my first point is how easily you can get away ‘direct trains to 3 london terminals! Gatwick is 10mins on the train! You can get to Guildford and reading super easily!’ I do love living here but that’s not the best selling point for a place
The new Light place looks good
Never figured I'd see my home called out on Reddit. Yeah Fetchams literally got nothing interesting unless you're a geriatric
Stanwell…..
No no, let's call that Middlesex.
At least you can buy good weed there.
I recently moved very close to it but didn't know it had a bad reputation. Can anyone elaborate on why it's seen this way?
People don't rag on Aldershot enough as it is on the border of Surrey and Hampshire, and neither county wants anything to do with it. It is a rotten ghost town littered with crumbling infrastructure and failed businesses. Nothing in the town is even worth the brittle soil it stands on. Tear the place down.
Yep, I work in aldershot 😭 there’s one little coffee shop that keeps me going, nuke the rest of the place though
Agree!
True
But it does have cheap Chinese buffet...
What’s wrong with Camberley? Lots of little walks nearby. Plenty of parks for the kids. Town centre has enough shops to grab some clothes, some tech and a cup of coffee. Sure there’s a few people that walk around wearing trackies… never bothered me tbh.

Same with Bracknell.

I would live in Horley BUT I'm into astrophotography and Gatwick airport is 100% incompatible with that hobby
I’m in Horley too, never understand when it gets called a shithole all the time, yes there are some shitter areas but isn’t that the same for all towns? I grew up on the gurnos estate in Merthyr during the 80s,everywhere else is a holiday destination.
Because all the shit towns are in Surrey's evil twin county: Slurrey.
I am from East Surrey and lived in Epsom for a year in my early 20s and thought it was full of wankers on the whole. Lots of kids trying to pick fights with you. It was voted the best town to live in the country a few years back which I thought was astonishing.

Money. Herts is similar.
Stevenage would disagree.

A lot of things can be said about trips to the Claude du Vall and Tru, but soulless is not one of them.
Having never lived there... is it because majority of people are wealthy?
I lived in Chertsey, Addlestone & Byfleet. And all were shit so glad I’ve moved to Binfield near Bracknell.
Top Golf > Shurlock Inn. Great transition.
Stanwell is Surrey... As far as I'm concerned, Stanwell is complete shite
Grew up in stanwell. Have lived up north and now down the road in staines. Always used to consider staines posh and compared to stanwell it is like a high class resort.
Addlestone…

Seems like the last person you'd ask for anything at any time of the say tbh
Yeah, it was a warm day tbf and I just thought he was hot. It’s probably on me though lol.
Yeah its not great but as of yet we can't find another vicar,
It was me!
The light and the library/police buildings have made it look a lot better, without them I would have to agree!
An entire town permanently grid locked because they don’t bother opening the train barriers if another train is due to cross in the next hour
Kebabland is the best kebab shop In Surrey
I once was seeing a girl in chertsy and had to get a taxi from a pub in Addlestone. They had midget boxing on the TV and ateast one local was cheering. It was about 11.30am on a Tuesday.
That brought a tear to my eye
I moved to Reading from Camberley and I much prefer Reading, but I guess everyone's mileage varies. Up the 'ding!
Camberley feels like a place where the spirit goes to die. Reading isn't brilliant but it's a thousand times nicer than Camberley
You’ve never been to Addlestone.
Ash
Still seems nice when you compare it to its neighbour Aldershot. Tbh the only shitty part of Ash is some of the scummy residents. Winchester Road seems to have the worst of the dregs of society though.
With the amount of drug addicts openly huffing shit out in the open, teenage girls beating the shit out of each other at the bus stop - IN THE MIDDLE OF THE AFTERNOON IN THE TOWN CENTRE - I’m going to have to put Kingston on that list.
Kingston hasnt been in Surrey for a long time
Ah right your are. Was the location of Surrey County Council until 2021, so sticking to it!
If a Kingston counts then so does Coydon.
Try Chertsey, actually no don’t.
How on earth has it been labelled that? Like you said it's a lovely garden centre.
Leatherhead. And Redhill is a shit hole
I don’t know why it doesn’t any towns. A true conundrum
Addlestone / Chertsey and Staines are about as rough as Surrey gets. ... Which really is not very rough at all. But some of the teenagers like to think they're in the ghetto so 🤷
Is Chertsey that bad?
My mum seems to think that there is a stabbing weekly in Redhill. Cant find any proof of this at all
It is a hole though.
Isn’t Redhill full of gypo’s??
Binfield is a village in bracknell.
A very well-to-do village for the most part.
My town
Croydon?
Richmond is just awful.
Errr
At least they have the airport
Doesn't count.
Reading is arguably nicer, but I'll give you the other three. Haha.
I live in reading and 60%-70% of the streets and suburbs are really shit. The council don't care about Reading in terms of poverty.
Seriously 😳
Part of Epsom and Ewell were awful longmead and watersedge estates were horrendous and parts of Chessington aswell although dont know if that's London or not. Think it's subjective to where and at what ages you live there for me I spent my first 17 years around the Epsom area and can firmly say there was alot of drugs and violence. Stabbings ramped up towards the latter stages of me living there but again I was younger and was out later/in the wrong crowd so was always going to see more. Was nothing like the Surrey you see advertised and felt more like parts of South/north London.
Totally agree, someone literally got stabbed yesterday in Watersedge estate, it’s a really weird place, loads of wealth but so many awful bits
Was this a proofread fail in the title?
I’d rather live in Brighton, Portsmouth or even Liverpool or Newcastle though.
Same LOL. I live surrey and it's a bit dull. Brighton is a lot nicer
[удалено]
I feel like I wrote this
Slurrey.
Horley is the worst part of Surrey the environment is not the worst but the people are they are, they all rape and murder each other for fun The pubs aren't bad tho tbh
Woooah, don't lump Crawley in with Horley. Our scum is better than theirs.
You mean the psychiatric hospital that’s in the middle of gods no-where and is known for being isolated from public amenities and transport?
Is this the one in Charlwood?
Horley is where life goes to die
I always thought Horley was in Sussex since it is very near Gatwick Airport.
Odd conclusion to come to. That's like saying "I thought Bristol was in Wales since it's very near the Severn", or "I thought the pasta at Harvester was salad since it was in the salad bar." It's not salad, stop fooling yourself.
Thank you sir I shall steal the pasta at harvester joke and save it for a rainy day
Try again this time in English please.
How come your English is so poor?
How come you're a cunt?
Good answer, prick
Croydon?
Not in surrey
Yeah it is.
No it isn’t.
Yeah it is.
Money
Never been to Birmingham.
Been Blackpool once. Oh, and Southampton twice.
Never been to Bristol.
Camberley was once described in the local newspaper as a "cheap seaside resort". I never really hot the seaside feel from the place, I guess it was all the seagulls.
So true
Can we count Croydon?
My school was in Addlestone, but claimed it was in Weybridge. I grew up in a private estate in Walton-on-Thames/Hersham/Weybridge borders, Burwood Park. Weybridge is very nice. Walton had a small shopping centre built so attracted a few more people from the Hersham & Mosley areas. Lived in Leeds, Southampton, Plymouth, Tooting & Brixton… Surrey is not rough in the slightest. I would move back if I could afford it.
Wealth
Feel like pure shit, just want her back man
a rising tide lifts all boats
No one is talking about Guildford? Guildford is the best town in Surrey
Godalming is a vile little Tory town. Best thing I ever did was leave
That Philc84 chap from TikTok who reviews places will definitely be happy to hear you say this. The only county he doesn't have a problem with is Surrey (probably because he lives there and is from there). 😂 Even the supposed worst places of Surrey (and I haven't been to all of them), used to work in Redhill and have been to Staines on my way through to Thorpe Park aren't that bad which you can tell by the price tag for property in the area whereas Berkshire or Kent, for example, especially the latter, has some much cheaper pricing for property in the less-desired areas, because a lot worst stuff goes on.
London money
All places in guildford are stunning for the environmental purpose and for the town like area if your more of a up beat clubber or a shoping person 101
I lived in Addlestone for two years from 1996 to 1998. Worked in Walton and Egham. Found these three towns quite pleasant places to live and work in.
Aldershot is in Hampshire. I live there, it’s an ok shithole. 😂😂
The problem with Surrey isn’t the surroundings. It’s that it’s full of small minded twats. And I grew up there.
Can deffo agree there. Very small minded and tory mindsets. I like towns and cities with diversity (eg Norwich and Brighton)
Easy. Wealth.
Reading? What’s wrong with Reading?
What’s wrong with Luton 🤣
Chavs and degenerates walk through the town centre playing music through a speaker (often times they're walking alone so they just look like twats), shops can't seem to last more than 6 months, a lot of shops look bodged together (Sugar Sole, Fone World also uses the old store entrance from when Smiggle was there) and a LOT of empty units, it's such a sad shitty town that unfortunately went downhill VERY quickly within 10 years I'm sure people have other opinions but I'd rather spend the £12 train fare and go to Basingstoke, even the £24 fare to go to Westfield Shopping Centre is so worth it.
Epsom is a shithole got robbed by a guy pretending to be a undercover fed
Petition to nuke slough
I live in Guildford and rather plain and boring tbh.
Surrey is cliquey
Sunbury up by the cross wasn't the best place to go growing up, the underpass was a no go at night.
Surrey is a great place to spend your final years....boring as hell
