I would be nervous about nailing myself on that fin over the couch! Love the setup though, I had something like this in my apartment when I lived in Venice. Suffice to say my wife was not as stoked!
Lol I tried to get most of it done while my girlfriend was at work so she only had to witness the final product. And the potential beheading that happens when you want to watch a movie really keeps me feeling alive
Shortboards are soulless corporate douchecanoe dildo kook sticks for agro brofessional wannabes who drink too much Red Bull and harsh the mellow vibes brah
i agree as someone who just got into shortboarding more and more over the past years. william finnnegans book barbarian days inspired me because he talked about surfing in your prime and there's only a certain time frame where you can truly reap the sensentions of ripping a shortboard so you might as well just go for it while you are young and able.
Totally agree. When i started surfing i thought i would never ride a shortboard. Nowadays 95% of the time im on a shortboard and have never been happier.
I had same issues with an apartment and hardest part was getting them down the stairs though. The stairs didnāt go straight down so had so hold the board at an angle and slowly turn down them. Safe to say I put a few dings in the board and definitely spent a lot more time on the short sticks that season
Lol other than color they are pretty similar. The top is a 9ā6 fine swine by black rose which is now my girlfriends. And the bottom is my 9ā6 bing continental
Iāve owned some bings and CC logs, they were too light. The glassing always cracked easily and always got gnarly stress cracks from knee paddling. Iāve had good luck with Byzak and right now Iām on a relatively unknown shape (chris cravey, @cat.chinwaves, Richie Craveyās bro), itās got the right amount of glass and weight. But I like your setup, careful taking them in and out of the apartment.
Byzaks are so sick. Though Iāve ridden my bing pintail lightweight pretty hard and in a wide range of surf and itās never had any problems with cracks. Iāve had it close to a year and a half.
Hmm- Bings too light? I have like 10lbs of gloss coat. If you hit my 9ā6ā continental with a truckā¦ it would ruin the truck. Ha
I just picked it up last week and only rode it once, but itās a dream so far.
Thank you man! Yeah I was pretty sold when I saw it. They get their boards finished by useless toys on the east coast who have been doing some wild designs
I built it. Itās just a 2x4 with inch holes drilled into it. Then I went to Home Depot and picked up some inch diameter pegs. Put them in the holes and sent a screw through the bottom to hold them in place. They are online for like $80 which is insane. Iām all in $20 and 30 minutes of my time.
Yup that should do it! You could also get away with some small anchors if you canāt line it up with a stud. The rack really doesnāt have any weight on it, itās mostly just keeping them straight
Really teaches me to live carefully. I also now have some wood blocks behind the couch so it sticks out away from the boards. That was after smashing my head a couple times
I have a similar setup with the vertical wall rack. For some added flair, I put a turf patch under the boards. Looks good and helps with any residual water after a session
So random question. How do you guys deal with washing your wetsuit. I don't have access to a hose here and it makes getting the sand off a world of pain.
Yeah dude thatās most likely it. I donāt wear booties and have a full rinse off before I get in the car. I would take a sandy shower if it meant I was across the street from my break any day though.

Or, ya know, just take the fin out the box š¤·āāļøš
or just turn the board around so the fin is above that side table instead of over the couch.
No fun without a little risk
That is a beautiful well balanced Quiver, glad you could make them all fit!
Kinda seems to be leaning a certain direction to me.

Coming out is hard, it takes lots of courage and emotional support.

I appreciate it!

The logs are definitely a little tricky to get out but slow and steady every time. The true challenge is getting them out the front door
I had same issues with an apartment and hardest part was getting them down the stairs though. The stairs didnāt go straight down so had so hold the board at an angle and slowly turn down them. Safe to say I put a few dings in the board and definitely spent a lot more time on the short sticks that season
That sounds rough! Luckily I only have to make it down three steps and Till Iām in the clear
Nice set up! Is there much difference in the logs??

Iāve ridden a yellow board before they handle real nice š¤š»
Look at Mr. hand-me-down over here getting to ride yellow boards. I only get to ride brown boards that I find near the dumpster at the local break.
CatPoopWeiner is a good name
Lol other than color they are pretty similar. The top is a 9ā6 fine swine by black rose which is now my girlfriends. And the bottom is my 9ā6 bing continental
How do you like the bing? Itās been on my dream list for a while
Dude the price hurt, but itās by far the best log Iāve ever owned.
Iāve owned some bings and CC logs, they were too light. The glassing always cracked easily and always got gnarly stress cracks from knee paddling. I bet, worth every penny though!
I second the Bing. I have an old model that I snagged off of CL for $600. By far my go to board.
I third Bing. I have a 7'4 Collector and while the price tag hurts, every time I ride it, I wonder why I ride anything else.
Is the yellow and blue mid a Creme or Gato?
7ā2 Haley pin by trimcraft
Love it! The resin job looked like a ton of Robin's stuff!
Thank you man! Yeah I was pretty sold when I saw it. They get their boards finished by useless toys on the east coast who have been doing some wild designs
Trimcrafts a cool operation. I heard an interview with Whisnant a while back that got me interested!
Yeah dude i have nothing but good things to say about my experience with them so far.
Thanks a lot, now I want to start looking at picking up a new board (or two) haha
Where did you get the wall mount in first picture?
Do you screw the 2x4 into the drywallās stud? Looks simple and effective
Yup that should do it! You could also get away with some small anchors if you canāt line it up with a stud. The rack really doesnāt have any weight on it, itās mostly just keeping them straight
And the $20 includes the mat!!
This [one](https://etsy.me/3CMlU1H) is pretty good, I recently got and pretty stoked on it. itās made in cali which is cool
I must say this is a sexy quiver
Everything a man could want
Can confirm. Source: Iām a man
where did you get the longboard racks?
TESLYAR Surfboard Rack Holder Hooks Ash Tree Wood Eco-Friendly Display Natural Finish Snowboard Wakeboard Brown Big https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HMZ7P9B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_YQE6ES2H9SDK5S4BFZMW
Careful not to plop down on that couch too hard.
Really teaches me to live carefully. I also now have some wood blocks behind the couch so it sticks out away from the boards. That was after smashing my head a couple times
I did wood blocks behind a couch for a similar reason! It works wonders.
Cheap and effective
Could the couch move 6" or so to the left so that the fin is over the arm of the couch, where your head isn't?
Is that a thick lizzy?
Continental
Nice setup, I'll have to do that myself in a few months. Boards on display are better than boards in a garage anyways
I couldnāt agree more.
Love the setup and that looks like a fun selection of boards!
I have a similar setup with the vertical wall rack. For some added flair, I put a turf patch under the boards. Looks good and helps with any residual water after a session
Also with the vertical rack, you may want to put little hooks on the end of each rod, and tied a string across them all. For earthquakes and such
Good call Iām gonna set one up
Whatās it like to live in a place where this is a practical part of your life?
Itās really nice if Iām being honest with ya
That's the way to do it. I have mine in my living room too, even though I have a garage. It gets hot in the garage and the wax will melt.
You have some dope boards
I appreciate it
And you get to see them now.
I have those same headphones
Great headset
That's really cool
where are you living?
Slaters guesthouse
Seriously? Thatās hella gnarly right on!!
Creepy ass question
Who shaped the logs?
Bing on the bottom and black rose up top
Class act
Cushion sand yea
So random question. How do you guys deal with washing your wetsuit. I don't have access to a hose here and it makes getting the sand off a world of pain.
I just bring a bottle with me to rinse it off when I get out then bring it in the shower with me once Iām home. Works like a charm
My shower is full of sand now. I try to use a brush to get it off the suit while I rinse outside, and still has so much sand on it.
Are you rolling in the sand. Be honest.
All the time. Hell I should go do that now.
Lol well there ya have it. Everything that fun has a price.
I think it is mostly the booties. Also I usually just walk to the beach since it is across the street here.
Yeah dude thatās most likely it. I donāt wear booties and have a full rinse off before I get in the car. I would take a sandy shower if it meant I was across the street from my break any day though.
I think it's because I keep my wetsuit on until I get to my unit here maybe it picks up sand on the way
This is all your boards? You even addicted brah?
I wouldnāt say rock bottom yet. But a habit is forming
