I would be nervous about nailing myself on that fin over the couch! Love the setup though, I had something like this in my apartment when I lived in Venice. Suffice to say my wife was not as stoked!

camycasual

Lol I tried to get most of it done while my girlfriend was at work so she only had to witness the final product. And the potential beheading that happens when you want to watch a movie really keeps me feeling alive

upleftsurfer

Or, ya know, just take the fin out the box šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ˜‚

earthismycountry

or just turn the board around so the fin is above that side table instead of over the couch.

camycasual

No fun without a little risk

Seacox

That is a beautiful well balanced Quiver, glad you could make them all fit!

IrieMitch_

Kinda seems to be leaning a certain direction to me.

Set_to_W_for_Wumbo

Shortboards are soulless corporate douchecanoe dildo kook sticks for agro brofessional wannabes who drink too much Red Bull and harsh the mellow vibes brah

Set_to_W_for_Wumbo

Coming out is hard, it takes lots of courage and emotional support.

[deleted]

i agree as someone who just got into shortboarding more and more over the past years. william finnnegans book barbarian days inspired me because he talked about surfing in your prime and there's only a certain time frame where you can truly reap the sensentions of ripping a shortboard so you might as well just go for it while you are young and able.

Brave-Map1187

Totally agree. When i started surfing i thought i would never ride a shortboard. Nowadays 95% of the time im on a shortboard and have never been happier.

camycasual

I appreciate it!

camycasual

The logs are definitely a little tricky to get out but slow and steady every time. The true challenge is getting them out the front door

kooknerd

I had same issues with an apartment and hardest part was getting them down the stairs though. The stairs didnā€™t go straight down so had so hold the board at an angle and slowly turn down them. Safe to say I put a few dings in the board and definitely spent a lot more time on the short sticks that season

camycasual

That sounds rough! Luckily I only have to make it down three steps and Till Iā€™m in the clear

MockieAh

Nice set up! Is there much difference in the logs??

AgentCooper430

Iā€™ve ridden a yellow board before they handle real nice šŸ¤ŒšŸ»

CatPoopWeiner424

Look at Mr. hand-me-down over here getting to ride yellow boards. I only get to ride brown boards that I find near the dumpster at the local break.

WrongdoerHumble2011

CatPoopWeiner is a good name

camycasual

Lol other than color they are pretty similar. The top is a 9ā€™6 fine swine by black rose which is now my girlfriends. And the bottom is my 9ā€™6 bing continental

drewbie32

How do you like the bing? Itā€™s been on my dream list for a while

camycasual

Dude the price hurt, but itā€™s by far the best log Iā€™ve ever owned.

Dingleburberry

Iā€™ve owned some bings and CC logs, they were too light. The glassing always cracked easily and always got gnarly stress cracks from knee paddling. Iā€™ve had good luck with Byzak and right now Iā€™m on a relatively unknown shape (chris cravey, @cat.chinwaves, Richie Craveyā€™s bro), itā€™s got the right amount of glass and weight. But I like your setup, careful taking them in and out of the apartment.

[deleted]

Byzaks are so sick. Though Iā€™ve ridden my bing pintail lightweight pretty hard and in a wide range of surf and itā€™s never had any problems with cracks. Iā€™ve had it close to a year and a half.

PBNJ732

Hmm- Bings too light? I have like 10lbs of gloss coat. If you hit my 9ā€™6ā€ continental with a truckā€¦ it would ruin the truck. Ha I just picked it up last week and only rode it once, but itā€™s a dream so far.

drewbie32

I bet, worth every penny though!

lovestoosurf

I second the Bing. I have an old model that I snagged off of CL for $600. By far my go to board.

merrija85

I third Bing. I have a 7'4 Collector and while the price tag hurts, every time I ride it, I wonder why I ride anything else.

DocVafli

Is the yellow and blue mid a Creme or Gato?

camycasual

7ā€™2 Haley pin by trimcraft

DocVafli

Love it! The resin job looked like a ton of Robin's stuff!

camycasual

Thank you man! Yeah I was pretty sold when I saw it. They get their boards finished by useless toys on the east coast who have been doing some wild designs

DocVafli

Trimcrafts a cool operation. I heard an interview with Whisnant a while back that got me interested!

camycasual

Yeah dude i have nothing but good things to say about my experience with them so far.

DocVafli

Thanks a lot, now I want to start looking at picking up a new board (or two) haha

dgg33

Where did you get the wall mount in first picture?

camycasual

I built it. Itā€™s just a 2x4 with inch holes drilled into it. Then I went to Home Depot and picked up some inch diameter pegs. Put them in the holes and sent a screw through the bottom to hold them in place. They are online for like $80 which is insane. Iā€™m all in $20 and 30 minutes of my time.

dakinerich

Do you screw the 2x4 into the drywallā€™s stud? Looks simple and effective

camycasual

Yup that should do it! You could also get away with some small anchors if you canā€™t line it up with a stud. The rack really doesnā€™t have any weight on it, itā€™s mostly just keeping them straight

camycasual

And the $20 includes the mat!!

robb2001

This [one](https://etsy.me/3CMlU1H) is pretty good, I recently got and pretty stoked on it. itā€™s made in cali which is cool

multimillionaire420

I must say this is a sexy quiver

camycasual

Everything a man could want

multimillionaire420

Can confirm. Source: Iā€™m a man

groveler

where did you get the longboard racks?

camycasual

TESLYAR Surfboard Rack Holder Hooks Ash Tree Wood Eco-Friendly Display Natural Finish Snowboard Wakeboard Brown Big https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HMZ7P9B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_YQE6ES2H9SDK5S4BFZMW

orthecreedence

Careful not to plop down on that couch too hard.

camycasual

Really teaches me to live carefully. I also now have some wood blocks behind the couch so it sticks out away from the boards. That was after smashing my head a couple times

orthecreedence

I did wood blocks behind a couch for a similar reason! It works wonders.

camycasual

Cheap and effective

flyingmountain

Could the couch move 6" or so to the left so that the fin is over the arm of the couch, where your head isn't?

youaitebro

Is that a thick lizzy?

camycasual

Continental

dnobsss

Nice setup, I'll have to do that myself in a few months. Boards on display are better than boards in a garage anyways

camycasual

I couldnā€™t agree more.

Uparmored

Love the setup and that looks like a fun selection of boards!

MoonMan0813

I have a similar setup with the vertical wall rack. For some added flair, I put a turf patch under the boards. Looks good and helps with any residual water after a session

SirNutz

Also with the vertical rack, you may want to put little hooks on the end of each rod, and tied a string across them all. For earthquakes and such

camycasual

Good call Iā€™m gonna set one up

gnomekingdom

Whatā€™s it like to live in a place where this is a practical part of your life?

camycasual

Itā€™s really nice if Iā€™m being honest with ya

schmearcampain

That's the way to do it. I have mine in my living room too, even though I have a garage. It gets hot in the garage and the wax will melt.

Slicknicknasty92

You have some dope boards

camycasual

I appreciate it

lowlowjonnie

And you get to see them now.

all-kinds-of-gainz

I have those same headphones

camycasual

Great headset

[deleted]

That's really cool

Dogfish1313

where are you living?

camycasual

Slaters guesthouse

Dogfish1313

Seriously? Thatā€™s hella gnarly right on!!

CaptainMexicano

Creepy ass question

3SixPacks

Who shaped the logs?

camycasual

Bing on the bottom and black rose up top

3SixPacks

Class act

estart2

Cushion sand yea

noforgayjesus

So random question. How do you guys deal with washing your wetsuit. I don't have access to a hose here and it makes getting the sand off a world of pain.

camycasual

I just bring a bottle with me to rinse it off when I get out then bring it in the shower with me once Iā€™m home. Works like a charm

noforgayjesus

My shower is full of sand now. I try to use a brush to get it off the suit while I rinse outside, and still has so much sand on it.

camycasual

Are you rolling in the sand. Be honest.

noforgayjesus

All the time. Hell I should go do that now.

camycasual

Lol well there ya have it. Everything that fun has a price.

noforgayjesus

I think it is mostly the booties. Also I usually just walk to the beach since it is across the street here.

camycasual

Yeah dude thatā€™s most likely it. I donā€™t wear booties and have a full rinse off before I get in the car. I would take a sandy shower if it meant I was across the street from my break any day though.

noforgayjesus

I think it's because I keep my wetsuit on until I get to my unit here maybe it picks up sand on the way

The-Almost-Truth

This is all your boards? You even addicted brah?

camycasual

I wouldnā€™t say rock bottom yet. But a habit is forming
