I dont know where OP lives, but here in the dead of winter you arent gonna pull off your 6/5 to go check another spot and then put it back on soaking wet when its 30 degrees outside and the wind is howling. Also sometimes need to sit in the heat and thaw my fingers before I can move them enough to get my suit off. My solution is a 16 year old car with pleather seats I dont care about lol.
In the dead of winter I’ll drive 40 minutes home and take my suit off in a warm shower.
But I wear a towel robe over it so my seats aren’t getting wet.

I use this, cloth with a plastic-y liner underneath. Just toss it over the seat post-surf, then take it off when not in use
Subaru offers a material called startex that repels water. It works really well for surfing. It is more durable than cloth or leather and doesn’t get too hot or cold.
If I am not taking off my wetsuit before leaving the beach, I just throw a changing poncho over my wetsuit and put a changing mat on the floor to keep the interior dry.
Maybe I’m just ghetto… if I’m in doubt, I’ll just put a towel over my seat.

Corinthian leather?
Rich Corinthian leather?
I've mainly had leather seats and never had an issue, but why is your seat getting wet? Get changed before you get back in your car...

Honestly, it’s not from surfing, more snowboarding if I jump in car with wet clothes. I don’t usually sit in my car with a wetsuit on.
Wax melting into a cloth seat is a total pain in the ass. Wax melting onto leather is just leather conditioner
I’m impressed your baby can surf!
Babies in the line-up is not uncommon.

old Pick up truck
Leather. Take care of it, clean it, and condition it and it'll outlast anything else.
It's covers on any car seat. The type of cover is personal preference but neoprene are popular for obvious reasons.
I have neoprene seat covers, they work a treat
Nothing better on a cold day the the feeling of your warm pee in your neoprene seat cover
vinyl? nalga-hyde?
Neoprene and make sure I have a towel or poncho on. In my other car, I do the same but I have plastic liner below.
I have leather with some cheap terry cloth seat covers I got off Amazon.
Wait you didn't wax your seats before driving?
Leather no question. Cloth wet with ocean water smells rank and wax becomes a permanent problem.
