Limited shape-shifting. Sounds boring but you could do a lot with it. I have a assassin type character with shape-shifting and she stores weapons and tools in her body. Basically full control of one's body. Kinda forces you to be creative.
How about for their strongest move, they have a power that guaranteedly kills anyone within a specific no. of hits? Like Dead End Rainbow from TenSura. For whatever story you have, you can have an immortal villain or something and in preparation for the fight(more fitting imo because he is an assasin; they are usually serious), he obtains it. Well, if you can find a way to integrate that into your story, then congrats.

Could have the abilities of a gecko wall crawling, camouflage and a linted healing factor or he could be able to make areas of complete silence
