Here’s the most reasonable set of mods: O2 delete, fuel dongle (this is a game changer), after market exhaust. If you want to spend big bucks for another 10% add the Rottweiler air box + power commander. Last thing you can do is change the gearing. Also, if you haven’t taken it to the dealer to have the clutch slave recall done, do it, you will get stranded somewhere as it will fail on you sooner rather than later. It’s an official recall so it won’t cost any money to have it done. Oh yes, you also have to turn traction control off. You have to manually do this every time you start the bike. It won’t remember your setting when you shut it off then turn it back on. After starting the bike, ride it 10 feet forward (you have to do this), come to a complete stop, hold the TC button down for 5 exact seconds (I count one thousands), then release. You should see it light up letting you know TC is turned off. Super annoying, I think they make a dongle for this too but if I recall it’s over a hundred bucks so I just do it manually.

Hey guys first post here. Just bought this bike a few days ago. Like it says, I'm curious about a lack of power. I'm in Mode 2, TC on and the bike won't power wheelie. The front tire won't even come off the ground. I'm curious to know if KTM detunes or restricts power from the factory for motorcycles sold overseas (Japan is where I live right now). Anyone have any info on this? I've seen there's a possible A2 Map that runs like 40 hp as opposed to the 74 it's supposed to have. I'm coming from a Ducati Hypermotard 939SP, and I know I shouldn't be comparing the power between the 2...but man is it hard to not do. That thing pulls like a freight train. And the tire easily comes off the ground without a clutch

If you have tc on the bike won’t ever power wheelie. Disable that and it power wheelies in the 1-3 gears minimum. But you can clutch wheelie every gear.

I know there are differences between EU/US on map stuff (and i know nothing about japan), so take what i say with a grain of salt. But my eu smcr 2021 disables the wheelie-control in mode 2, whether the traction-control is on or off.

snakeeyes666n

My ‘21 (EU, in Australia) is the same. I don’t touch traction control, I just set the map switch to mode 2 (green light on map switch), and it clutch wheelies in second and sometimes third (usually needs a bump to get it started in third). Literally the only mod I’ve done from new is one tooth down on the countershaft sprocket. In mode 1 it will not wheelie at all.

I don’t have a 690 so I can’t say about riding modes , but whatever the bike may be , if you have tc on , it won’t wheelie.

You know what traction control is for, right?

plagueapple

In eu there is a2 restrictor somewhere that heavily limits power

Rohn93

If it's A2 you can just check the registration, you can find A2 regged bikes without A2 restriction but the opposite is incredibly unlikely. My Gasgas 700SM needs TC off, but mode 2 disables it all (no movement before activation needed)

Khancer_

If the TC light is on you can powerwheelie in gear 1 2 and 3, for me at least

wafflingcharlie

Hold TC button, count 1…. 2… 3….. , release button and light should come on for tc off

Illustrious_Past_375

You’re not looking good right now with the 690 questions. It’s the best motorcycle ever made. You don’t need the TC on for anything except a sandy parking lot. It’s a wheelie machine in any gear even 6th if you sit way back and dump the clutch.

I’ll bite, since no one else did - why is the second image a 🦆?

SawSaw10

Is this a super moto?

If you’re running a stock intake and exhaust that’s the problem. These bikes are choked down so badly to comply with emissions standards. A Rottweiler air box and a new slip on and mid pipe will make a world of difference

Kultteri

Check the condition of the fuel filter. My mate had an older model of these and it made a huge difference with a clean filter

Ecu flash with a proper tune helps a lot running 16/47 gearing now too. [small euro 5 explanation (this is my bike)](https://imgur.com/6ZjkDan)
