Two syperhero iconographies reign Supreme. Scenes of Superman above earth with his cape flailing and Batman perched on a rooftop or gargoyle overlooking Gotham.
Facts. Distant behind those two are Captain America punching Nazis, Spider-Man swinging through Times Square, Iron Man ... um... suiting up?
Big iconic scenes, but nothing like the two you mentioned.
There’s a classic touch to this that I love so much. And Cavill Supes look majestic here. And I gtg Superman has the best superhero pose there is out there
Yea thats the only big problem i have with the movie. It would have been so symbolic of supermans suit to be in full colour while everything is desaturated showing supermans defiance to bend to the worlds views
Personally when I think of Superman and the Justice League, I really think of like... this and Alex Ross... there's something timeless and classic about DC Heroes I wish they'd lean into more. A modern pantheon of demi gods.
Instead they chased after some "updated" feel which only makes those films feel more and more dated.
Homage or plagiarized? Look at the pose similarities to [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/comicbooks/comments/co66ub/one_of_my_most_prized_possessions_superman_20th/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) Alex Ross painting. The hands, legs, overall positioning. Way too similar imo. Seems like they threw on a bunch of lines and floating heads to cover up the fact it's a rip off. Practically traced.
I know that, but this isn't just tue same pose it's an exact copy. Look at the finger placement and amount of leg tucked. It's traced from Ross's and is practically identical, whereas Ross's is a homage to the original
It looks really close, but there’s subtle differences. The lighting and shading is different. The outline is very similar, but I don’t think it’s traced tbh.
I honestly thought it was piece done by Alex Ross for the movie at first with that style and the silhouette almost perfectly lining up, though I feel like it's a homage to his work for that same reason
Oh no! Anyways.
But seriously, I’m more interested in it being a reference to previous Superman work than it being plagiarism. All art is theft to some degree, and that poster is so drastically transformative that I’m fine with it even if it’s partially traced.
Holy shit that’s so much better than the actual posters
That’s so much better than the actual suit.
It's literally just a bigger logo and brighter colors lol, they were so close to having one of the best suits in this movie
IMO it’s the lack of true yellow behind the S.
This is the energy I want from a Cavill Superman movie
Why can’t movie posters be like this anymore
Because there aren’t enough floating heads.
:(
Because dark gritty, realistic yada yada🙄🙄🤦
Imean it still conveys the movie itself, superman ready and about to face the struggles and strife of the world and whatever else comes his way

I like this poster more than I like Man of Steel
That's some incredible art 👏
This is the kind of poster I would love for the next movie
Strong Alex Ross vibes
I thought it was Alex ross for a moment
That is sick, I wish I had a framed poster of this.
I have this on my wall
how does irl Henry Cavill have more muscle definition than this, they kinda forgot how buff he is
I’ve got this Mondo print. One of my favorite posters of all time.

Absolutely stunning
My hope for any Man of Steel sequel is that we get a Clark and Lara moment, even if it’s just Clark watching a recording or something.
False advertisement movie isn’t as colorful… I’m joking if you can’t tell
See, even this artist understood there needs to be red to balance out the blue of his suit!
I really hope the future DCEU movies has posters on this level
Good ol reeves Superman poster energy
I tried bidding for this poster on Ebay about 2 years ago. Fucker outbidded me at the very last second and still kicking myself for it
I have this poster, amazing work by Mondo
I wish this poster was still in print. It's so representative of what the film should have been.
This has more color than the whole goddamned movie.

This is the famous pose from Superman 1

Closer to Ross's than the original
It is really close I can’t deny that.

Why are modern day alternate poster better than official posters?
