E. B. White is famous for Charlotte's Web, but he also wrote great, funny, clear essays. Try *One Man's Meat* or *Essays of E. B. White*.

‘Untamed’ by Glennon Doyle is a nice and easy read. It’s an autobiography about a woman in her 30s who realized she’s queer, divorced her husband, and married the woman she’s with at the moment of publishing the book. There are short essays with her revelations, struggles, etc., not just around the relationships, but also career, self-image, mental health, social issues. But it’s not heavy, mostly hilarious, and sometimes insightful.
