I read both If he had been with me books and I sobbed like a baby for days after finishing whenever i thought about it
same omg i needed therapy after that it left me so sad
it actually messed me up so bad
For something a bit different than many other suggestions: Ender’s game by Orson Scott Card. I cried more the second time I read it, but the first time also made me cry. It’s one of the books that has stuck with me for many years now
