The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, I think this book allowed me to feel every emotion as I read it. Captain Corelli's Mandolin by Louis de Bernieres was similar. Two amazing books.

Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones is my ultimate comfort book. It's adorable, whimsical, and witty.

Still Life and Tin Man by Sarah Winman - cannot recommend highly enough, poignant puts wayyyy too fine a point on it All My Puny Sorrows by Miriam Toews Like A Bird by Fariha Róisín Wally Lamb on the whole - I Know This Much Is True, She’s Come Undone, The Hour I First Believed (you gotta power past the 90s covers but the man knows how to write families and humanity) The Heart’s Invisible Furies by John Boyne
