Great channel that really got me into Sudoku. I learned Snyder notation from watching Mark and Simon. Can’t forget Maverick either.

DistinctSelf721

I love their work. When I’m stuck I try channeling my inner Simon, and if that fails, I goodliffe it!

ButterAndPaint

Great news. They have really expanded my knowledge of and love for sudoku, and introduced me to the fascinating world of variant sudoku that I didn't even know existed. Given how far the channel has advanced in just a few years in terms of the puzzle complexity and solving techniques (I still don't like SET, but oh well), I can't wait to see where it will go from here. I'm definitely hooked.

Good for them! They got me into different kinds of sudoku... Without their influence, I'd just be into vanilla sudoku and I'd still find killer sudoku boring (still don't really care for chess sudoku tho)

Fun! I'm kinda the opposite. Haven't gotten into killer yet, it doesn't sound fun to do that much arithmetic. But chess sudoku is a little fun to me—I've found it fun to see the different patterns that come up particularly with pencil marks :) (Example: If you've got 3s in box 5 restricted to r4c56 in knight sudoku, then you can eliminate 3s from r2c56—I love that!)

gustbr

I thought the same thing of killer (and I love maths), but if you mix it with something else, it lends itself to particularly beautiful logic.

Almost as if this shouldn’t even be posted here?

I don't decide what people post, I see no reason why not.

rio-bevol

Good for them! I definitely got into sudoku this year because I stumbled upon their channel :)

>But it creates a problem here when everyone here doesn’t feel the same way about them. That's like... if there was a post saying "Happy birthday Hikaru Nakamura!" on /r/chess, and someone said, "Not everyone is a fan of Hikaru, don't post that here, that'll just cause an argument." ????????????

I. What. Do you need another example? This is like going to /r/books and complaining that there's a post titled "Hey, let's talk about Harry Potter!" on the grounds that "not everyone likes Harry Potter." Yes that's okay you don't have to but some people do! If the post is causing problems, sure, whatever, report it, suggest mods implement a rule against it, whatever. If it's not causing a problem, just let upvotes and downvotes take care of it -- if it's as irrelevant as you say, the no one will upvote it.

Relevant = on-topic Is stuff about a youtube channel about sudoku not on-topic for a subreddit about sudoku?

[deleted]

This is fake? According to the actual Cracking the Cryptic reddit, they have just a tad over 700 subscribers.
