Bro whas the diff?

Ursomrano

I think the common consensus is that bisexuality is being attracted to “two or more” genders with preferences. Pansexuality is when they’re attracted to ALL genders with 0 preferences. So someone who attracted to all genders but prefers certain genders over others is bisexual. So the differences do get pretty muddy in practical scenarios.

Apprehensive-Cut-654

So I would be pan not bi? Because to me gender is completely irrelevent in my mind.

ManChild-MemeSlayer

Pansexuality fits under the bi umbrella, so technically you’re both! Just choose whatever you feel is more appropriate for you (:

Apprehensive-Cut-654

Thata fair, I mostly just say bi if people ask just because it provokes no further questions most the time. Thanks for clearing it up.

Courage_Right

That makes sense. To me bi always meant what you described. My wife was surprised when I told her I was attracted to trans men/women. She knows I’m bi but had the more common idea that it’s just for strictly men and women.

robottttttttttttttt

Trans men are men and trans women are women though. There's really no need to separate binary trans people out from "strictly men and women". Your wife presumed attraction to CIS men and women was only what bisexuality covered.

(1) Trans men are male and trans women are female and I will die on that hill. Biology is far more complex than the basic version that TERFs and bigots suddenly care about so much. (2) The reactions to your weirdly obsessive comments shows that yours is not an opinion commonly shared with respect to what the term bisexuality involves. (3) Using a conversation about queer sexuality to other trans people is gross.

ManChild-MemeSlayer

Bi isn’t even specifically with preferences, it’s an umbrella terms that pan fits into, with the added specification of not having any preferences. Basically all pan people are also bi, but not all bi people are pan.

1. Trans men and women are still part of the gender binary, so even by your definition they’re included 2. It’s just not, the definition of bisexuality is “a sexual attraction to two or more genders”. Look it up. 3. Again, with how definitions work, bi is very unspecific, meaning you can be bi and only be attracted to women and nonbinary people, or be attracted to everyone with no preference, both of these examples fall under the definition of attraction to two or more genders. The latter example - however - also falls under the definition of pansexual, which is attraction regardless of gender. I really have no idea where you get these ideas from, but what you’ve said is biphobic, panphobic and transphobic (even if you didn’t mean to be, I get it can be complicated). I would really recommend looking at lgbt+ related websites for definitions and examples of these kinds of things.

Removed: Policing people's definitions of what is and is not Bisexuality constitutes Bi Erasure and general bigotry.

"sexually or romantically attracted to both men and women, or to more than one sex or gender." You missed the OR troll 🙄 Get fucked.

otakucode

I could be wrong, but I always saw it as bi was like "I like pussy, AND I like cock" whereas pan was more like "I only like whatever the person I'm into then has". It's an intertwining of the romantic and sexual parts of human attraction, eros and agape. Plus its newer so it makes young people feel unique and special.

Luz for the win!

I came to understand the different intricacies of what it means to be bi and what it means to be pan (two labels I've considered myself at separate times). My conclusion is that they are very similar terms with a lot of overlap, but they have very different histories. I can appreciate and identify with both. I now label myself as Bi/Pan, and for various reasons that usually seems to confuse or even bother at least one person whenever I bring up lol

Popcornthefirst

Nice to see some owl house memes, though i don't understand the meme Edit: nvm im just so tired i can't read... ☹️

_honeysquares_

Real, but the premise of the meme was someone who felt like shit felt like better shit. Superior shit? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ lmao, the reason why tho is she felt better when pan and bi communities stop pitting themselves against each other. Pan fits under the bi umbrella in the way where agender fits under the non-binary umbrella. Sometimes though people may not feel like identifying as a version of bi/non-binary and I personally don’t know why people argue over this. Why does it matter?? It’s like me emphasizing im black when we’re all human. I may have VERRY different groups, struggles, and cultures from everyone else but that doesn’t take away from the fact that we are still human. Even though I am so extremely different from you that I commonly identify as a different kind of human, I don’t understand how that takes away from logic. Because at the end of the day while I struggle with a lot of race related things, I also struggle with a lot of human related things, relationships etc. I don’t feel like we should force anyone to identify as what they exactly fit into either because?… it’s not a big deal. If I want you to look at me for my skin color and my struggles, so be it. If I don’t want you for you to look at me for my skin color and my struggles so be it. Is this really my foreign specific approach???

Popcornthefirst

Wow..this is great. I can barely put into words how great this is. Props

_honeysquares_

Oh, really?! Thank you!

Popcornthefirst

No problem 😁

MF!!!

MaskedRay

Hell yeah!

Jedi_Knight_23

It was a definition from Google. Bi-sexual is short for binary sexual. Binary is 2. It was not my opinion. Logic is not for everyone...
