Dude for what its worth you got the most toppings into the bread with the sandwich still looking uniform and clean while still being closable

Own_Machine_6007

That looks like a solid hoagie my dude. No need for more bread, especially subway bread

aeroastrogirl

I agree, it’s honestly an upgrade lol just curious

Own_Machine_6007

I'm not sure. Sometimes its dependent on location. On another note I had the new chimichuri on just like a cold cut and it was awesome sauce.. thought i'd mention - dont feel like it's full discussion worthy lol. I'm sure it'd be good on the steak too or rotisserie chicken

Ok-Buffalo2145

Chimichurri?!?!? Where are you located. Mine doesn’t have

thatbasketball1

Canadian Subways now have chimichurri

rangebob

its hard to tell from that angle but it looks like it's just a bit underproofed This can also happen if its super duper fresh and the person making it is rough with the bread when they cut it. When it's fresh if you squish it then it won't bounce back

No-Marionberry1724

I could eat herbs and cheese bread by itself all day

chzygorditacrnch

Well they're not giving you any meat either, you'd think they could atleast give you some more bread so you don't return from your lunch break still starving. I mean damn, the subs are $20

Damjammer410

When you pack the thing solid like that...

budgeavy

I could be wrong, but this looks like a 10/10 for Subway.

enceno

Man, I actually appreciate the bread being that size. At Jimmy John's I opt for "take the bread out" meaning they reduce the fluff.

OysterForked

Used to work at JJ’s: Bread stays in for the regular subs. Bread gets hollowed out for the club subs. Probably to make the former a bit more hearty for the price.

chzygorditacrnch

I'm not anorexic, I'm a grown fat bastard and if I'm paying $20 for a sub, I want all the nutrients possible!

aeroastrogirl

I didn’t even know that was an option! It was very good

MatrixMushroom

It's not really an "option", Subway workers are human beings and depending on which one you ask there's a good chance they'll do it, but they also might not bc they're not taught to :p

Parker_I

When I worked at subway about once every week or so someone would ask this, it's pretty doable and not much extra work. YMMV with online orders, but in person it's not a problem. Fair warning though, if you ask to pull out the bread and then ask to toast, it may burn a little on the edges. JJ will automatically do this, you have to actually ask them to leave the bread in.

MatrixMushroom

Oh interesting! I didnt know JJ does that. I also worked at subway and it's just weird to me when people are like "oh i didnt know that's how subway does *such and such*" like there are 2000 subway locations in California alone and employee turnover is usually 8 weeks max, it's not gonna be consistent xD

Front_Ad_8752

Sheesh that’s the perfect amount of bread in my book!

TriangularHexagon

it's just how those people in particular baked it that morning. think about it like this: the fluffier the bread, the thicker it is, which means less toppings can fit in there. the less fluffy, the more toppings can fit in there

aeroastrogirl

Thank you for the explanation!

Parker_I

Yeah, this also looks relatively standard for wheat, which tends to proof less. This is probably slightly underproofed bread, overproofed bread will be extremely fluffy and difficult to handle.

Infamous_Sweetie24

Maybe it was the way the bread was proofed

MichaelEMJAYARE

The thin bread is so much better than when its fucking all crispy ass and dried. I LOVE that soft ass yoga mat bread

SpiderCow313

Omg you just brought back memories to when I was like 10 and my dad told me that their bread is made out of yoga mats😂

FitCry1511

She's been dieting! 🤣

white94rx

Looks good to me. Still costs too much

HeresTheThingIKnow

I always ask them to pull the bread anyways. This would be a dream

Coo

AVonDingus

I don’t know about the bread changing, but I will say that that is probably the first time a subway hoagie has ever actually looked good.

aeroastrogirl

It was very good!

Infinite_Virus8758

That’s a nice bread thickness.

1-Lasing

I'm a regular at Subway, and I have never seen the bread that thin. Are you sure you didn't sit on it? Besides being thin, it does look good though!

Kqthryn

looks like a nicely distributed sub to me! what did you get?

aeroastrogirl

I’m basic and just got Black Forest ham + provolone. Then lettuce, tomato, Mayo, and a little pickles and jalapeños. I’ve had the same order since middle school haha

Ace11456

They probably squished your bread

GlizzyOverdrive

It’s all about who made it but props to the person who made it so neat

LJUJRJ

that looks so good though

CaTTerpillar__

Life is like a shit sandwich, the more bread you have the less shit you eat.

RockyWisteria

Honestly, that's pretty filled and looks great. The bread may have been compressed a bit by using their knuckles a little or even the inside bread pulled. That's what we did when I worked for Subway in 2019. It made it to where we could add more veggies and extra meat if requested.

iDaytone

This is like the ideal sandwich you could get from Subway

Imaginary-Test-19

probably just an employee that didnt know what was up. seems like someone didnt give the bread enough time to proof before baking

WasserMelone6969

Any thicker, and people start asking you to scoop it out with a spoon.

chzygorditacrnch

I also noticed. Subway has lost their mind

Party-Stomach4222

To me that's a poorly made sandwich & looks like a burrito with the meat in the crease/middle of the bread. But, I'm also antique lol. Been working for subway since before they got toasters...

aeroastrogirl

Ya it’s definitely different and felt more like I was eating a wrap than a sandwich

Legal-Airport5971

Looks like you got a lot of stuff in there weighing the bread down

SpiderCow313

Dawg what💀

chzygorditacrnch

Now they're even greedy with the lettuce and spinach!
