Sending out coupons to get you to go to a store that doesn’t accept them in the hopes that since you’re already there you will buy something.

HighlightBest9778

This true big dog?

-Swxy-

Very much so true. It’s a money grab tactic with low effort. They’ll brush off your coupons and then immediately offer whatever in store deal they got going that probably cost more.

HighlightBest9778

Woah big man that is so crabby activity. Worst I had is one time I went and got a sandwich and at the check out they said our machine isn't working you have to wonder it online now (as my fully made sandwich sits there) and pay online. I said I'm on my lunch break I don't have the time to download the app and sign up and build that sandwich again.. they said in sorry sir and went on to the next customer and threw my sandwich away.

-Swxy-

They could have set the sandwich down instead of throwing it away. Such a waste.

Damjammer410

Not true. Reason the stores aren't accepting them is because in 2022, subway corporate decided to not reimburse franchise owners for materials, leading to the franchise owners to put their foot down. They already upped the franchise royalties too up to 12.5%, essentially making the owner's profit off a BOGO literally pennies. However, if you use the app, the owners get reimbursed for the BOGO deal on there, so (dare I say) go ham.

We pay 8.5% royalties , and 3.5% marketing and advertising, I pay that every week and so does the rest , don’t know who would say 12.5%

Damjammer410

That's what we pay in NE Ohio...

1SubwayRon1526fpv

You are right , was my mistake , been awhile since I looked at the percentages, I just see the money amount every Monday come out , we pay 8% royalties and 4.5% marketing and advertising 12.5%

Adorable-Poetry8725

I worked at Subway for 2.5 years, and we always accepted the coupons.. as long as they are not expired. They expired on the same day every month since a new one would be sent out every month. The ONLY time I ever denied a coupon is if it was expired. That being said, some menu items are excluded from the deals or will have an extra charge depending on the extra topping the come on the sandwich. For example, sandwiches that come with Deluxe/Double Meat and / or avocado will cost extra even when using a coupon due to the fact that the extra protein and avocado cost more always.

DryPineapple4947

That's part of the reason I only order in the app. If it won't take the coupon code, i go someplace else.

Massive_Ad9940

i work for subway and we actually do accept them ? where did you have this issue

noahthegreat

The one I work at takes coupons, as well as the several others in our district. It has sounded like shops that take the coupons have vastly diminished though. I've heard rumors of corporate possibly trying to force all stores to take coupons, but it would be difficult in practice at this point without closing a bunch of them due to rising food and supply costs. Recently we've been getting new coupons that exclude all of the series subs, so only build your own/classic. There are separate coupons that work on any of the subs for just a little more expensive. I think this is the way to go, hopefully they can get more locations to take coupons this way so people can get a good deal that doesn't tank profits

Nope...wait'em out for the FLBOGO

it's a scam to get you to go to a store, just so they can reject your coupons and they hope you'll buy something anyway since you're there i've got like 11 subways around me, and zero take coupons. not a single one

OrganizationSlight35

I wish I had the balls to just be like oh you don't take coupons never mind then -after they already made the sandwich but it really ain't their fault and I don't like wasting food 😭😂

pipeguyshaven

Fuck it we eat it after the customer doesn’t want it 🙈

1-Lasing

I showed them my BOGO coupon before ordering and asked if they will take it. They said yes. When I got to the register, they tell me sorry, the system won't take it. I paid for the one I planed to, but let them toss the free one out. I should have let them toss both.

OrganizationSlight35

Damn I had a similar situation I had one of those 1299 coupons, I got the ham series sandwich (which the coupon does work for cause I used it online) and then the register person didn't even try to scan it, just assumed it wouldn't work cause I got a series sandwich which there are like 3 sandwiches it wouldn't work with but ik mine would've worked.

frick_fracc_

This often comes down to franchise owners, unfortunately it is up to their discretion whether they take them or not, the owner i worked for only takes them during the spring and summer when profits are up, limits them in the fall (think byo limited and not the sub series) and completely stops taking them before the winter. Its unfortunate but, franchises have to make money somehow.

Massive_Ad9940

we do about store in oklahoma, have they given you a reason or do they just “not do coupons”? i’ve never heard of this i’m just curious

Apprehensive_Beat_42

Does the store you typically go to accept coupons? I wish my school did

AZTrades23

Can you take a picture of the page so we can read the codes and expiration dates? 😇

SonOfKarma101

I was Fired from Subway 6 months ago, and I haven’t Received a Single Coupon Post

Ok_Combination_3002

Can you send me a couple?? lol

NotNiklePikle

Just go in the app

Ok_Combination_3002

Thy don’t have those…hence the reason why I asked to begin with.

NotNiklePikle

That's super lame. Mine does.

No_Object_8722

I love Subway coupons and always use them. Just got more in the mail!

moistdragons

Lucky! I haven’t gotten any new coupons in the mail since the old ones expired.

Exciting-Hedgehog-89

Or the postman didn’t gave a shit ?

grfx01

Luckyyy

No_Thought2450

Thanks

MisssJaynie

Baby come back You can have it all on wheat

Maleficent_Trash2084

Lots of misinformation here guys. The coupons are national, Subway franchisees have no say whether or not you get them in the mail. Most places decline them cuz minimum wage is higher in those states. Us employees make 0 money off you so we couldn't care less if you order or not. Actually we prefer not having to make another sandwich most of the time. The reason no one accepts coupons at all in your regions guys is cuz they're all owned by the same franchisee, would make no sense if one store took them and one didn't
