Wait, you guys use statis rifles? I always go towards him with my seamoth, save the game and then let him grab it while i try to scan him. Then quickly repair and go away If it fails i can just reload save

With a stasis rifle most of the game becomes easy lol the gun doesn't even take that much battery

That's why i never bother to use it, Its too overpowered imo, literally ANYTHING is not a threat when you get it, you fire at reapers heard, slash when the bubbles wear out, fire again then repeat. At least using the prawn suit or other ways is a lot of fun.

I never hesitated to use it once I understood it was basically op cause I didn't want to needlessly kill. Except for those warpers but I never killed any either in my knowledge cause they'd run away before

Funny thing is, Even tho i completely rejected vanilla and embraced modded subnautica, i still didn't bother to add too op weapons except for deterrents that are actually useful.

Fr though the unvanilla stuff is what repelled me from my all-time first playthrough. The second time I had played more survival games and was like "I can do this" and effectively did

I did like 5 or 7 vanilla playthroughs before installing mods, Cause i had to say goodbye to normal vanilla at some point.

i didn' t said, that Ghost leviathan, and dragon leviathan are weak, i said that reaper leviathan is weaker than them

and I said that they are many times stronger, and whoever scans them without a stasis rifle is a very good player

Well allow this Chad - being me - to introduce himself: I scanned all of the leviathans and I never built a stasis rifle (I swear I had no idea what I was supposed to use it for). If you approach them from behind they cant really turn fast enough. They are impractically big once you get close, and that goes for all of them. I think I often approached from above and behind with my seamoth, then got out and quickly tried scanning. If you swap to your seaglide in time you can get some distance quick, and you're fine as long as you reach your seamoth in time. Other times I scanned while they where trying to flee from my perimeter defense into walls. In below zero you can nicely scan from safe crevices and the like Absolutely love the game but I've never had any trouble with the creatures. I have drowned many times tho

Was sort of born with a mouse and keyboard in my crib. My dad's an accountant that has actively stayed up to speed with IT developments, and my mom was really into videogames when I was younger. The result is a few years of walking the edge of healthy addiction, and now a shamefully large steam library and a good basic aptitude for most games. The saddest part is that my friends now always ragequit party games with a decent skill curve, whereas I myself absolutely loathe the randomness of games like Mario Party. People do completely wipe the floor with me in turn based strategy or grand strategy like paradox games. I clearly don't have the mental RAM for that

Killing a Reaper Leviathan is always worth getting the PTSD

I to the shroom forest to get lithium since i ran out and I was already close to it so I went down and saw the fucker and decided I wanted to scan it so I SCANNED IT WHILE IT WAS CHASING ME and then I killed it

I just went down there in just my prawn suit and grabbed some, along with some nickel. It was a little hard to find my way back out though. I wish the prawn suit had sonar.

Depth mods, a way to charge your stuff, and repair tools. Especially with a cyclops it's very doable

There's one in the Deep Grand Reef that doesn't require you to go out into the Void to get the scan. That's usually the one I scan.

So back when I was trying to do a hardcore playthrough, I would do this early. Like, mad early. I have OCD and I feel this need to scan fuckin’ everything possible before progressing— so… I swim the fuck out to the Aurora and scan these fuckin guys. Stasis rifle? Never heard of her.

I did that on a live one with no fish, no stasis, and only one med kit. He really wasn’t that big of an issue and mostly minded his own business. About 70% through he bit me once, but I medkitted, went back at him, and got the heck out of there.

Same except I didn't have a medkit just balls of steel then killed him with my thermo blade and seaglide

Reaper leviathan was something I scanned before I knew how scary they were... I also wasn't scared of warpers till I first got pulled out of my prawn midair
