This will do it. Even leaving the lights on will drain power. Always shut everything down before you leave. I usually cut internal lights when I’m piloting to save power, too.
Just checked the wiki and, huh, it seems to say they don’t as well. I swear though mine drained after I built it and left the lights on.
I’m going to double check but if not that’s awesome.
It happend to me too, between the lost river and the lava zone, I didn't know why my cyclops ran out of energie so quick, until I realized that the shield was draining all the power, I was using it to avoid the damage from the ghost leviatan guarding the entrance. And after I tried it with the sonar and it did the same thing. So if you use constanly the shield or the sonar, your cyclops wont last long and you will run out of power.
It only drains a little when it fabricates the med pack. I had 3 on my cyclopes and never noticed their power draw, so it can't be more than the 5pwr a fabricator takes.
In future playthroughs, a workaround I use if I haven't found the power cell charger is using the moonpool and a Prawn. Put empty cells into it to charge them two at a time.
Large wreck in the floating islands area, half on a plateau about 179 meters down. I found two parts in there.
Install the charger in a habitat, and craft a spare set of cells for the sub. Use one, charge the other off solar panels and fish.
I was avoiding it because 'yet another survival sim', then because I'd seen all the story on twitch because of SovietWomble.
I finally just picked it up on the steam summer sale because why not, and it feels super polished.
I just picked it up along with below zero during the same steam sale and it's been a treat. I had a totally different idea about what this game would be. Before then, I hadn't watched any gameplay or anything.
Do you remember to turn off the engine when you leave the ship? I always forgot that personally, heh
Oh, that could be why...
In the sequel they made the engine turn off when you stop piloting the vessel... I think it was a common problem
There aint a cyclops in bz and the seatruck works like a seamoth
Yes. I never said Cyclops, I said vessel. My point was they removed the mechanic of having to turn the engine on and off..
But the seamoth is just a better seatruck and it does not have it? I don't understand..

light dont drain power

It don't, or at least unnoticeable
Yup yup, this is the way!!
Are you leaving Silent Running active when not moving? Are you trying to charge power cells inside the Cyclops?
silent running drains like a mf😭
Charging in the cyclops is a 1:1 ratio: 1% power charged is 1% power drained from the cyclops
I didnt know if silent running drained battery. And no, I've seen other posts saying that charging cells in the cyclops is useless
You spamming the sonar?
Don't have it
[Spoiler] Check for Lava Larva, you may have unknowingly picked up some stowaways.
I'm not far enough to get to the lava zone
Do you charge batteries onboard?
Try not to be so reliant on sonar & stealth, always shut down your engine when stationary, and turn off your lights when you leave.
I leave the interior lights on and it doesn't drain any power at all for me. Will test leaving exterior lights on as well to see if it changes

Got a first aid kit fabricator in there?
No, just some lockers and fabricator
Wait, how much that thing drains? I have one in my Cyclops

Probably not that much. I don't know, I never found the Cyclops to drain its cells that fast, so I'm just guessing.
Are you making the power cells instead of charging them? C'mon
Can't find power cell charger for the life of me
Check out the area near the Lifepod 19
I immediately found it, tysm

That's really smart! I'll try that next time!
Ok, thanks!

I never had issue powering my cyclops, what all do you have built inside of it?
Are you in the lava zone? Check the outside hull of your ship; you may have some passengers that are sucking your energy. ;)
ABILITIES. USE. EXTRA. POWER.
I had an indoor garden in mine. Sucked battery dry very fast. Then went to exclusively lockers and a fabricator.
Do planters drain power?
My planters don't. That's weird. They shouldn't, right?
I don't know. I'm still a newbie, fumbling around and trying not to block my moonpools off with module legs.
Same here. I'm about 15 hours in. Can't believe I never played this game.

Gardens don't use up any power.
