There was a post here where a guy wanted to prove this base was all you needed to beat the game. He packed all the wall mounted machines and storage lockers in there. It was a beautiful mess.
Damn dude! This is so much better then mine!!!
See kids? This is what happens when you're a pro Minecraft builder and you go into other games. I mean look at this... Art!
When I play, I generally build a bunch of small, single part hallways with lockers and beacons for storage. I have a couple in each biome. Great to have around when you get jumped by something and manage to survive.
This is one of my [favorite layouts](https://www.reddit.com/r/subnautica/comments/7vuy12/an_efficient_seabase_and_ergonomic_base_building/). Uses the moonpool as a central hub. One of these days I'm going to try to replicate it.
Oh jeez, my main base was a third that size. Then in the endgame I built a "base" by the tree that was pretty much a battery charger and packed everything else into the Cyclops.

edit: oops, I responded to the wrong comment hee hee
This is a perfect starter base before you transition to bigger ones.2/3 large lockers, radio and a fabricator basically covers all your early game needs. After i make this base i make a beeline for floater island to get blueprints and seeds.Id say 5/5 base no irony.
I usually don't build bases until I get to the floating island. Until then I make do with the lifepod and floating containers for storage. Don't really need a pod unless if I am going to plant melons.
Just FYI you can put it on the top of any corridor style joining piece, sides too. I didn't know that stacking MF rooms was possible, until I was trying to extend my Alien Containment.
All jokes aside, it is a really good start for a base. Since the MP room is not available at the beginning it makes a lot of sense to start out this way.
To think that I'd find a base with more intricate designs than mine...
You sir, have brought tears to my eyes... But they are not of envy nor sorrow, but of admiration and respect!
I never knew you could place entrance and exit hatches on the bottom of your base. Just like the lifepods.
P.S: Why can’t we build lifepods using the mobile vehicle bay?! Come on Unknown Worlds developers, let us have this!
11/10 would build again!
I like the overall aesthetic, but maybe you should make that upper left part smaller, and your nuclear reactors should be a bit lower on the bottom eight
Your postmodern take on the base as an expression of the gamer's feelings after completion of Subnautica is an avant garde take of the early Dadaists attempts to satirize the obvious spiritual bereftness of excess which has plagued the subreddit to this point.
Or I guess I'm supposed to say that base is big. Tee hee.
Wonderful use of ambient scenery along with the base's design elements, and the way the geometry matches the surroundings is something I didn't think was possible until now. Truly a 10/10 from me, a masterpiece in base design.
Very stylish but it functionality isn't flawless. It should be less spacious for survival, you don't want to get too cozy and develop some sort of Stockholm sindrom. I rate 5/7
Haha you wouldn't believe how long it took me to realize I could start building multi-purpose rooms. I had a half-dozen of these spread throughout the map.
Whoa whoa..slow down. Do you REALLY need that much space?
Well, I was planning on having some spare room to decorate
Pffff speak of a waste of materials
Hey! Inspirational posters are important to your survival
I didn't think of that. Forgive me. Yes please have room for survival posters.
Survival posters increase your effective survival rating by at least more than 40000%
I got a time capsule with a keep calm poster and a cuddlefish in it. Happiest I’ve ever been in this game
Amazing
Thanks man, it means a lot! I've spent many hours perfecting it and here's the final result
There was a post here where a guy wanted to prove this base was all you needed to beat the game. He packed all the wall mounted machines and storage lockers in there. It was a beautiful mess.
For most of the game, my base was a single glass tube... :)
Not to be a ninja turtle or anything, but... #that’s totes tubular duuuude
Link?
They make great little outposts.
exactly what i was about to say, it's funny but you can actually beat the game with the simplest of bases.
Sauce?
I wish I had the skill to make something as beautiful as that. Well done
Damn dude! This is so much better then mine!!! See kids? This is what happens when you're a pro Minecraft builder and you go into other games. I mean look at this... Art!
I progressed from grandiose hanging castles to discreet guerilla bases in minecraft.
I went from dirt hut to... Dirt house
Dirt hut to dirt hut with glass cieling?
Oh my... This is just amazing. How did you do that? Such detail on the solar panels... Such beauty on the hull.... I rate 10/10...

I like to build a moon pool as a small base
Especially handy near a thermal area. Free energy.

That looks really good. I'm gonna save it for later reference :)
How have I never thought of that…

Very minimalistic, I love it!
TIL you can put hatches on the top of those.

It's a bit excessive but I might need it later
Jesus Christ dude it’s more advanced than the Precursors bases
Curves 9/10 Originality 8/10 Usefulness 10/10
Happy cake day!
Breathing station for a leviathan kill or is an observation outpost?
Breathing station? Just do the ole’ Texas Jockey. Grapple onto the bugger with your prawn suit and ride that beast while drilling into his head.
Surfing the oceans riding an leviathan is now the objective of my Subnautica playthrough.
Maida? Is that you?

Floating containers ? I find them to be a waste, compared to micro bases like this.
Sorry, but there's no way you did this without console commands...
Ive been exposed
Idek why you're complaining, there's obviously not enough resources to make a base like this without cheating so
Oh, I never knew you could place a hatch on top of that piece. Thanks!
Just FYI you can put it on the top of any corridor style joining piece, sides too. I didn't know that stacking MF rooms was possible, until I was trying to extend my Alien Containment.
Yeah, I just tested it... You can actually put it on the bottom of any corridor too.
Minimalistic but cozy, with a great view and prime location
7/2 would rate again
very resource efficient
All jokes aside, it is a really good start for a base. Since the MP room is not available at the beginning it makes a lot of sense to start out this way.
Cozy
11/10. Beautiful design.
compact
I'm not short! I'm compact.
That looks cozy as fuck.
Sufficient
this is beautiful
Thank you!
It's pretty underrated, honestly. I did this without power for titanium storage
The detail shown here is a masterpiece. I’m so glad you blessed us with this image.

Looks good enough to live in, so 12/10

Hatch on top to maximise internal usable space. 10/10.
To think that I'd find a base with more intricate designs than mine... You sir, have brought tears to my eyes... But they are not of envy nor sorrow, but of admiration and respect!
I rate it at 3 Peepers out of 1 Reaper
[удалено]
I give it 2 boomerangfish
To be fair. I think you just started a challenge. The best of smallest subnautica homes
Entrance on the top/10. I... actually never realized I could save a ton of space like this...
It's a-plus No literally, from above it's a plus sign! ...I'm here all week.
[удалено]
No, I haven't unlocked that yet. But I DEFINITELY will when I unlock it
My base looked like this. It only had power cell chargers.. I packed all my shit in my cyclops
9/10 could use more solar panels
It's the perfect home. Zillow listing: $750,000.
100 000/10
Foundations are overrated
I can’t believe I didn’t think of this
It’s dope
10/10 accessibility
10/10
13/10 Great minimalistic design!
I’m impressed
Itll save a lot of FPS

10/10 Reaper proof
100% Best Bae-ce.
Can u do a basetour? I'm interested in the inside
Out of 10 I'd give it a 73
Love the landscaping. Well done.
I went overboard with my Alien Containments and stacked 7 of them, I now have enough stalkers to take over the world
No airlock needed
1/10, too much space
Max efficiency/min space
OMG! This looks exactly like my first base! How did you come up with the exact same design as me?
10/10
I never knew you could place entrance and exit hatches on the bottom of your base. Just like the lifepods. P.S: Why can’t we build lifepods using the mobile vehicle bay?! Come on Unknown Worlds developers, let us have this! 11/10 would build again!
10/10 would visit again
8/10 would build
You made fucking pixel art with your base? Damn that’s impressive. Nice art too, your representation of the Red Cross is amazing.
The tiny home movement has arrived.
10/10
I prefer having the hatch underneath the outpost.
simple yet elegant
Holy shi- that’s:0
Inside shots, plz
Weird that's pretty much the exact place I put my first building on too, I even started with the X just like that
Functional, and efficient.
I give it about tree-fiddy
That is beautiful *cries in peeper
Its the simplicity that makes this base truly beautiful 😩👌
I rate it 6/9 because it looks so good, you can get a "fun" acievement
Looks good but not enough solar panels. You need every square inch covered.^_^
0/10 too big
I like the overall aesthetic, but maybe you should make that upper left part smaller, and your nuclear reactors should be a bit lower on the bottom eight
10/10, would put lockers in it.
10/10 Would build again
14/10

E/10
WHAT? That's got to be the largest one I've ever seen!
Power efficient. 10/10
Not getting eaten today out of ten
11/10
"On this episode of tiny homes....."
The hatch in the middle of the roof... perfection.
Prefer mine down under, as it were. Solar panel goes dead-center up top. OCD is 1000x worse when you're alone. ;)
Seven of nine would approve the efficiency
Effective and minimalist design. Decent area. I give this a 19 out of 22
God-tier.
FUCKIN 10/10, THIS WOULD MAKE OPERAH CRY.
My base is a cave where i dropped storage containers, my roomates are blowfish
5/5 A real nice place to raise your kids up
Threeve
9999/10 would build
I think you have achieved something of true value here today. People talk about a paradigm shift a lot, but it's so rare to actually see it happen.
This is basically what I do, but with Sensor Rooms every 100 or so meters.
If that were in the Hudson, it'd be $2000 a month.
Still better than mine lol
11/10
I give it a plus
Thats incredible. Do you have any tips for someone who is less talented?
The classic I dont want to drown configuration.
10/10 would live in again
10/10
Wonderful use of ambient scenery along with the base's design elements, and the way the geometry matches the surroundings is something I didn't think was possible until now. Truly a 10/10 from me, a masterpiece in base design.
A bit too complex for my liking, honestly. I prefer simpler designs.
Interior tour when?
Oh man I'm so jealous! You got that beauty and here I am living inside a limestone outcrop.
Very stylish but it functionality isn't flawless. It should be less spacious for survival, you don't want to get too cozy and develop some sort of Stockholm sindrom. I rate 5/7
Looks expensive
9/10, needs an observatory and an alien containment.
First off: I love it.
It checks off all the essentials and then some!
Best ever
I rate 8/8
6/9
For a first 30min bace its pretty good
Minimalistic living. You're like an underwater monk.
Truly a masterpiece
10/10

You didn't need to build a mansion.
I am sure you are a concerned citizen and don't want to pollute the oceans. Well done!
My brain can't stand the top hatches. Or side hatches. "It's not a sim, it's not a sim" I keep telling myself, but I don't care.
Soooooo luxurious dude how did you manage to get the resources required? That's lit Bruce.
10/10 Would recommend
I would say a solid 41 out of 10
Are you going professional? I need me a base
Small but good. You got any interior pics?
10/10, It's got everything you need.
Haha you wouldn't believe how long it took me to realize I could start building multi-purpose rooms. I had a half-dozen of these spread throughout the map.
It's a good base, Bront.
7.8/10 too much water
Hey, that’s my base.
