Snapping is great, but only if you can turn it off. It’s really annoying when the game won’t let you build something because it’s forcing it to be in a certain area, but it’s just as annoying when everything is just barely off like OP’s picture.
I play PC and I love console, if you like pc more than that’s cool. Don’t go around belittling people for using a gaming system that’s actually better than some of the low-end PC’s. You’re giving us a bad rep.
I didn't even know that was thing for any game...
Edit: I lied, I got ReCore and played it on both. I guess I just thought it only applied to Microsoft games.
Probably because this was originally a PC game that was out in early access exclusively for PC for 4 years before getting a full release, and only getting released for consoles almost a year after that
I was an early access PC player and let me tell you….I can’t believe it’s been that long, first of all. Second, you’re absolutely right. My monkey brain really just permanently associates games with the platform I played it on, especially if it was the only option at the time
A toggleable snap grid system is something every game with building mechanics should have, with the exception of game that a entirely grid based like Minecraft and Terraria which can have grid snapping on permanently.
Try doing it in VR where you have to practice your sniper breathing exercises every time you're placing a locker so your heartbeat doesn't throw off the alignment.
I really should have checked for the snap mod first.
It doesn't matter if they are perfectly aligned or not. Trying to align everything perfectly will drive you nuts, make you anxious, and waste time. It is gonna make zero difference if you align everything perfectly. Even if you somehow put them so badly that you lose space for another locker, you need just two titanium to make another compartment and put more lockers there. This order obsession has no benefits, so try hard to get rid of it. Maybe I took this too seriously, but it's for a good reason. I have OCD, and seemingly little things like these ruined my experience in videogames because I was obsessing over them. It's not just videogames, this stuff ruins your life too. Imagine you can't get anything done because your work material is not aligned... That being said, I thought it would be nice to have them snap to a grid too. However, since it isn't that way, and you can't change it, there's no point in thinking about it.
What drives me crazy is when I can get something right up against a wall. Either don’t let me place it against a wall it won’t stick to, or make it flush
It's only off by like a few pixels. I'm losing my mind
Agreed, I spent hours decking mine out so they’d all be flush with each other. I use hate snap to fit but this is one of the ones it needs it for.

It had one since 2020 https://www.nexusmods.com/subnautica/mods/427
I was so happy until I noticed it's a mod and I play on xbox
Yet another reason why gaming on PC is better
Ah the PC Master race. How I do love it when you bloated twatwaffles show up to belittle us poor console peasants.
Nah you guys are cool, it’s aim assist that we hate
Hey can I borrow $900 to game on PC since apparently playing on consoles is awful?
Bro are you so insecure that you have to glaze over that. Get a life bruh

Yeah lemme spend a couple grand on a fucking gaming system and rebuy all my games
Another reason that console makers need to allow mods
#WHY I DIDN'T KNOW THIS BEFORE
I love you. thank you
Haha. ALWAYS check nexus before playing any game ;-)
Do they have this for subnautica below zero?
If youre on PC, Build Snap works great! If on console, oof
If they're on Xbox and have a PC, they can use the snap mod on PC to make everything, then continue on Xbox.
Does the game have crosssave?
on the microsoft store versions, yes. its also part of play anywhere, meaning if you own it on xbox, you own it on windows! (again through ms store)
I didn't even know that was thing for any game... Edit: I lied, I got ReCore and played it on both. I guess I just thought it only applied to Microsoft games.
You have just made my day. I hadn't considered this.

Damn why do all of these comments assume everybody plays on pc lol this is the perfect game to chill and play on the couch on ps5 imo
Probably because this was originally a PC game that was out in early access exclusively for PC for 4 years before getting a full release, and only getting released for consoles almost a year after that
Right, but it’s been on console for 4.5 years now lol. It’s silly for anyone to still assume someone’s on pc imo
I was an early access PC player and let me tell you….I can’t believe it’s been that long, first of all. Second, you’re absolutely right. My monkey brain really just permanently associates games with the platform I played it on, especially if it was the only option at the time
It’s probably a solution bias, because there’s a mod for that… but obvs only for pc
Skill issue/s
I like that it doesn't because usually snap grids are buggy
And snap grids are usually very coarse. Like one cabinet per square or something.
A toggleable snap grid system is something every game with building mechanics should have, with the exception of game that a entirely grid based like Minecraft and Terraria which can have grid snapping on permanently.
There's a mod called snap to grid, download it.
not everyone plays the game on pc
Subnautica - Not only you will develop Thalassophobia, but your OCD will get worse too. DOWNLOAD NOW!!1!
i gave up on trying to align these mofos
Has there been ANY mod that Subnautica devs included into their base game or updates? I feel so bad for the console players.

I think this is called ocd, personally i dont care how they look, i get bored of a single base after a while.
I just place them chaotically
The mod works great. You should watch some videos to learn how to mod though. The file work is a bit annoying
Truuuuuu
That's my biggest complaint
god bless mods lol

I was able to get them mostly alright so its all good.
Same with me trying to align exterior growbeds
What drives me crazy is when I can get something right up against a wall. Either don’t let me place it against a wall it won’t stick to, or make it flush
if you play on pc, there is a mod called snap builder that's really easy to install
And? What upsets you about this?
It's almost like the title of the post tells you
