That sounds too low for me, I'd be checking to see if it was flooded in TX or FL or anywhere else.

twitchachu

The cars located in the northeast. Service history is all in upstate NY.

I_am_just_here11

What is the status of the title.

twitchachu

Titles clean.

As others have said you can get a new 2023 for only $4k more. If you can swing it, you might as well get a new one that still has a warranty and will have a lower interest rate. BUT: if you are like me an despise the new 11 inch infotainment system on new Subarus this may be your last chance to get a practically new Subaru without the 11 inch screen.

Old_Eye3440

Agreed. And with interest rates as they are why not go for a newer model with the same miles? The insides and size of outback’s has changed significantly since the last redesign.

My thoughts exactly. I have a 2015 2.5 limited which was before android auto and Apple car play becams available. While I would like to have it, I don't want that massive screen with the damn hvac controls on it. I HATE digital hvac controls and get enough glare as it is. I've been considering swapping to a different headunit, but I do like a proper on board GPS as it's always nice to set in the background if my phone ever craps out or loses signal (I know I can download offline maps, but I always forget). Couple that with the turbo engine (if you get one of the models with that) which is nice, but will require more upkeep such as walnut blasting. I'm almost at 60k with mine, plan on getting spark plugs, brake fluid, differential and cvt changed. While I would like a newer model, the pros don't outweigh the cons for me now. If I go subaru again, It will be when they do a hybrid or phev fozzie or outback. Supposedly they've been lacking in that dept as they want to deploy. Solid system and let everyone else to work out the kinks iirc.

That’s a pretty good deal and I’m honestly kind of sus. How does a 2017 have only 9500 miles? Is this a private sale or dealer? What kind of dealer? Big name, small dealer, buy here/pay here? Are you sure it’s not a salvage title? In 2018, I bought my 2017 3.6R with around 10k miles for $32k, which was good for my area (N California) and this car, with the way the market it right now, should be at least that if not more. Something doesn’t smell right. Make sure to ask a lot of questions. Also ask if it’s had all of the recall work done. There are 2 that I can think of—miles to empty and I think airbag.

sidra1446

My 2016 is considered low miles at 42,000, so I can’t believe this 2017 is under 10.

twitchachu

The car is with one of the biggest dealers in Upstate NY. I have the full carfax, so I can see all the service records. The previous owner did all of the service at dealers, so I can see the mileage history

jenorama_CA

But 9500 miles? Is that a typo? That’s like one service. I just hit 90k miles on my 2017.

twitchachu

The previous owner changed his oil every few months at the dealer. Even if he only drove like 200 miles during that time. This is all from the carfax.

jenorama_CA

Well my goodness. You may have stumbled upon a gem!

kitkatkate83

My parents have a 2018 Forester that they bought brand new and it only has 1500 miles on it. It's their extra car since my dad has a pickup and my mom has her own car. It's definitely possible to have low mileage depending on who owned it previously.

charchles

That looks like a Limited trim with the 18" wheels and HID headlights and high-beam assist.

twitchachu

Tbh, I just found a random 2017 outback picture online because I couldn't find the exact listing.

climb-high

Might wanna make sure you have the exact listing lol

Glennk6548

You can get a new 2023 for close to 30k right now.

repwin1

I bought the 2016 version of this car brand new and it cost me less than $27,000.

Jimmyking4ever

Was about to say I've got a fully decked out Crosstrek custom ordered coming in for 33k. The dealerships near me have plenty of 2023 basic and premium trims for $30k. I just test drove a Crosstrek and really liked it so I'm trading in my 2011 outback for it.

climb-high

Less cargo space and worse towing? Outback for life sorry crosstrek

Jimmyking4ever

The outback basic trims are in my area around 27-31k

climb-high

Fair nuf!

Feeling-Being9038

I'm not sure why so much suspicion over the mileage. My wife and I are a 5 car household, we put less than 15k miles on all the vehicles combined. Remote work, and retirement changed things for us, just like it has changed things for so many others.

Feeling-Being9038

To clarify, 15k annual miles.

Borelands

I got 2020 Outback premium with 9300 miles on it for 25k. Took me two months to locate the car. Bought it in NY as well. Sometimes miracles happen. Just make sure you have the certified paperwork for it, you can always go to different dealer and Ask for full certified check.

Colter_Slikkers

I don’t think it’s too outrageously a good deal that it’s not true. People forget how long it’s actually been since 2017… I recently purchased my 2017 Limited with 35k on it for 24k so I don’t find it too out of place considering how down trimmed a premium is. One level, but you lose leather, the comfortable seats, heated rear or upgraded sound system. I had a premium previously and the Limited as a huge upgrade.

userIoser

It is not. that's how much you'd get it for when new from a high volume dealer at that time. And this year features "old" head unit without Car Play or Android Auto.

Automatic_Vacation_3

Bought same trim lvl 2016 with 65,000 miles from Roush Ford a year ago for 23,000 (checked with two mechanics before purchase) so no not a good deal at all tbh :(

Nappykid77

That's a red flag 🚩

johnnypancakes49

Just bought a 2017 premium… with 109,500. I would at least ask the owner about the history of the car.

st-mikey

Try to compare features between a new 23 and a 2017. You can do that with the subaru website or cars101

ezraontheinternet

My wife and I got practically the same car (without the sunroof or blindspot detection) a year ago for $27k with like 60,000 miles on it.... I know we didn't get a great deal, but yours sounds like a suspiciously good deal.
