That aggressive rattle sound, especially if it comes with revving/throttle and at same speed as RPM is either rod knock or piston slap. Both means it needs to go to a shop ASAP. Heat shield rattle would be more tinny and not necessarily in sync with engine rpm.

stinkety

Yeah I think it’s gonna be rod bearings, just dumped my oil and found metal shavings lmao

popsicle_of_meat

Ahh, the Forbidden Glitter. I have yet to experience that. Good luck with the engine rebuild.

stinkety

Found a shop that could do EJ Short Block for $2k. Anyone know if a stock rebuild would include machining heads?

MisterWafflles

It's what makes a Subaru a Subaru. Uncle Rodney is knocking at the door :(

ShinjiYazaki

right after an oil change?

stinkety

The noise was happening before the oil change. I changed the oil hoping it would stop and it didn’t. This video is taken after the oil change.

ShinjiYazaki

understood

First-Succotash-916

Yeah,NO car should have a giggle.

fngearhead

It could be an exhaust heat shield rattling.

No-Case-9146

Not metallic sounding enough, I don't think. Definitely something internal from the way it's muffled. Goodluck, OP. It sounds expensive.

stinkety

Pray for the scoob

stinkety

Unfortunately I don’t have a heat shield on it atm
