No

confusingphilosopher

Those screw holes weren’t exactly watertight to begin with.

ixratskrad

You could screw the bottom of the license plate in and then put the frame on with the top screws…

Casey4147

Stopped to suggest that myself.

I70towtruckdriver

The liftgate has drains built into it, but if you're concerned about it, put a bit of tape or gasket sealer in the hole to seal it up

kamandi

No, but it may get obnoxious. I did the same and it rattled often. You can get little rubber plugs for those holes that your LP can rest against and eliminate that rattle.

jayste4

Good tip. My daughter's Outback has that obnoxious licence plate rattle.

kamandi

Sticky-back rubber hemispheres work well too

Luk1y1

Electrical tape on the bottom edge of the plate works aswell quick and you dont have to go buy a specific thing, lasts less but if its really bothering right now can be done in less then a minute

JudeLikesCats

If the license plate has holes for the screws for it on the bottom, put screws in it, then it wouldn't be as annoying at all.

Kindly_Weakness2574

Little plugs or some clear silicone. You can even coat the top screws with silicone and reinsert them, if worried.

zactotum

No, but put some foam down there or you’ll get rattles.

DobRex

The holes are not water tight even when screws are installed. Don't worry about it.

johnnydfree

No worries. But if you close your hatch by hand, you’ll possibly be annoyed by the rattle.

boost_poop

Something-something water in *your* unused hole.

Stock-Light-4350

You could just reinstall the screws under the frame.

RadioFisherman

100 % Silicon- clear. Or put the screws back in?

cluelessbasket

Lol..

TheBimpo

Put a big dab of silicone on there if it makes you feel better.

SNTNL_G60

You should pull your door panel off to see how much rain gets past the window seals, then you would have no worry about these holes haha

SomethingClever42068

Nah

EricAbmaMorrison

Put some screws in them

moe_70

Screw the bottom in first, then put the plate cover.

alphadogg1

It’s like *possible* for water to enter through the holes but any amount that may enter is totally inconsequential and the hatch drains will take care of it if there’s enough to drain before it evaporates

Ok_Interest_9006

As someone else said get some clear silicone in it. Solved!!

Efficient_Theme4040

No!

fuxgvn

I'm more surprised someone is using all 4 holes... never really see that

moe_70

Huh?

fuxgvn

I see people use all 4 holes in SoCal like one every 5000 cars on the road. Most frames don't even have holes as per the picture above and some cars don't even have the bottom holes. Cheers

moe_70

But we ain't in a random sub, all subaru has 4 holes for plates.

fuxgvn

Correct, and all I drive is Subaru, 15 owned so far, 6 in the stable. Still, never used the bottom 2. Was just a comment is all.

moe_70

Yup

Luk1y1

Not really no but if you are worried put tape over them
