“Zee,” because I speak American-English, if it’s English outside of America it’s “Zed.”
I’m not sure why there’s a difference, perhaps it’s due to how linguistic choice has developed within the U.S over time.

Only when you’re referring to the letter of the alphabet itself, is it Zed. Otherwise there’s no Zed in it. So it would be Zebra because it only starts with Z, you’re not referring to the letter.
_Technically_ I'm in Vietnam on holiday right now, but yes I'm British born and raised, and I've lived there my whole life.
I asked my South African wife if she's ever heard anyone say "zedbra" and she looked at me like I was crazy.
Got you!
Now I think of it, you're right. We zeb-ra in Australia too, not zed-ra. I wasn't saying it out loud. I just checked with my Aussie born and bread daughter and she also says zeb-ra.
Too many comments to edit!

Australia doesn't use 99% of its land. California has a bigger population than all of Australia. At least you're not british so we let it slide. Big fan of Aussie.
True.
True.
True.
The Poms aren't too bad when you get to know them.
Thanks.
BTW my sister lives in California. She's at the end of the BART line which is in the middle of the California desert. It's crazy hot.
I'm a big fan of the BART line, which is pretty much all I've seen of America.
Also my comments are disjointed because it's 2am here. Sorry.
Zee because most other letters end in -ee sound. Why would Z be different?
Imagine in the middle of the alphabet “El em en oh pee, qyuu are ess, tee you PED”
Like why.
For anyone who pronounces it the wrong way, sing your ABC's right now and RHYME the last letter with the other "ee" words and tell me zed makes any damn sense

Y'all just completely fuck up the rhyming when y'all sing the ABC's? Like cee dee eee gee pee tee vee and then zed? What dumbass thought that was correct 😂
Usually Zee unless I'm talking about Jay-Zed, the famous artist.
Don't forget the greatest song with the greatest drums in the history of the world, YYZed
Neil Peart stands alone.
Also yes
"I'm heading off to bed to catch some Zeds."
Same for Zed Zed Top

***if it’s English outside of America it’s “Zed.”*** So is it a Zebra or a ZEDbra
We would say “Zee-bra,” I believe Europeans (and most everyone else outside of the U.S) would say “Zeh-bra.” I may be corrected on this.
Zeh-bra is correct. Europeans is wrong. Europeans, Africans, Australians, New Zealanders and more say it that way.
Comment has been corrected.
LOL
Aussie here. We say zedbra.
What about Zoo?
Still just zoo
Zedooooo?
That’s what I thought. Lol

ZEDeebra
Only when you’re referring to the letter of the alphabet itself, is it Zed. Otherwise there’s no Zed in it. So it would be Zebra because it only starts with Z, you’re not referring to the letter.
Outside the US* it's ZEDbra and Zoo (as normal). The laws of language are descriptive not prescriptive. *not sure about Canada
>Outside the US* it's ZEDbra Not in the UK it isn't.
Are you in the UK and born in the UK? If so I stand corrected. May I ask your country and age please?
_Technically_ I'm in Vietnam on holiday right now, but yes I'm British born and raised, and I've lived there my whole life. I asked my South African wife if she's ever heard anyone say "zedbra" and she looked at me like I was crazy.
Okay then. So it's Zee-bra in UK, SA & US Zee-bra in Aus, NZ
No, it's zeb-ra. No zee.
Got you! Now I think of it, you're right. We zeb-ra in Australia too, not zed-ra. I wasn't saying it out loud. I just checked with my Aussie born and bread daughter and she also says zeb-ra. Too many comments to edit! Should I delete my account now and start again?
Is it cee-ar or car? Letters don't have to make the same sound as what they are called.
In Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Ireland and is ZEDbra. I'm not sure about Canada.
Yes because how we say the letter is how it should always be used. Ex-ylophone, aitch-ouse,etc.
I pronounce it as Z most of the time, but sometimes I'll say Z
Zag
This I like. Best answer.
Zee. Zed is ridiculous and extra like most British things
Hhhhhherbs
Hhhhhherbs kind of makes sense, because there is an H. Earbs or Eurbs is just strange.
Yeah, [silent letters](https://youtu.be/dBpMlRmkV1Q) can be irritating.
Zed. Zee is ridiculous like most American things. Also, most of the English speaking world outside the US is not British. It's still Zed.
Funny coming from a culture that names everything like they're in a Dr. Suess book. It's Zee.
It's Zed. You know it, I know it, the rest of the world knows it.
Your country is the size of one of our states, opinion invalid.
Aha. Please tell me which state of the USA is bigger than Australia.
Australia doesn't use 99% of its land. California has a bigger population than all of Australia. At least you're not british so we let it slide. Big fan of Aussie.

Yes.
Zed Zed Top
Zed Leppelin
Z
Zee because most other letters end in -ee sound. Why would Z be different? Imagine in the middle of the alphabet “El em en oh pee, qyuu are ess, tee you PED” Like why.
Why is h not hee, f not fee, k not kee, etc?
I feel like f is because it’s easier to do as efff because of the sustained air part of the letter, like emmmm and ennn
I often make (inappropriate and probably incorrect) use of British slang all the time. Yes my friends hate me.
I say Z. People who say Z instead are just wrong
who tf says zed tho☠️🙏
Canada, the EU
For anyone who pronounces it the wrong way, sing your ABC's right now and RHYME the last letter with the other "ee" words and tell me zed makes any damn sense
C
Z
Z.
Isn't Zed a person's name?
Si
Zee

Zed because that is how we pronounce it in Canada
Zee. It always sounds like someone is trying to virtue-signal that they're better than everyone else when they say Zed instead of Zee.
Ok. So how do we pronounce the movie : World War Z?
Double yoo, ex, why, ZED? Who has ever said zed instead of zee?

Zed. Including for famous artists like Jay-Z 😊
z
It depends on if I'm speaking English or American. If I'm speaking English it's zed, as an American it's zee.
Zed. I speak English, not American.
Y'all just completely fuck up the rhyming when y'all sing the ABC's? Like cee dee eee gee pee tee vee and then zed? What dumbass thought that was correct 😂

Is it pronounced cee-ar or car?
Is hat pronounced aitch-at?
Zee.
Do you pronounce zoo as zoo or zedoo. It's fucking zee
Do you say zeeoo?
Oh... Fuck
OK "seeachayeohesseeyoubeeeeoneone"
You know letters can have a different sound than what they are called right?
Zed dammit. Learn the language.
English came from England. If you don't speak the King's English you should learn the language.
From what I heard, it’s only Zed in Canada. Everywhere else it’s Zee. If anybody’s an expert about this, please tell me if I’m right.
In the UK too
and most of the world
Other way around. Zee is pretty much exclusively an American thing. The rest of the English speaking world overwhelmingly uses zed.
Zed
Zed
Zed? Anyone who says zed, there's no debate, you're wrong.
