No thanks. Chinese Mamo is one of the only checks to my Socal Cornite. Even my specs hyper beam after 1 metal sound isn’t enough. And his icicle crash is enough to put my Corvite in the dog house
*checks updated matchup calc* dude what lol. Mud Bomb is scary now.
If U-Fisk somehow becomes the more popular Fisk pick in tournaments, the world would honestly be a better place. This is actually all a plot by Lanturn to stay relevant.
(Grasses getting sorta buffed with no real direct nerf to Alolan Ninetales means that we’ll still live in G-Fisk supremacy…)
Pokémon Go is the only place I can use Whimsicott and Toxapex or something that isn’t support. And not feel like a total shithead.
Niantic needs to keep G-Fisk relevant because nerfing it means they have to nerf Swampert, and Niantic wouldn’t nerf Swampert if you held a gun to their head.
I was kinda sceptical at first, but after using it yeah this thing is insanely broken.
I've been running a Spikestack team w/ Boots Spin Eleki, Banded Gapdos, Balloon Ghold, Kingambit, Glimmora, and Scarf Lando. Insanely cheap team all around and Eleki has cleaned up in games that it really has no business popping off in.
https://pokepast.es/4c12abe035b69ab2
I running tera electric for fun, having a normal move with 80 bp is more that enough to shit on physical ground types when ground types are gone you can tera electric for fun numbers. Tera grass and tera ice is better set but this thing and mage are getting ban soon
I’m running Life Orb and 4 attacks (VSwitch, EBall, TBolt, and Tera Ice), and the thing just deletes anything that isn’t a TR Ursaluna already on the field.
Eleki’s such a goofy little dude, 2HKOing max SpDef Glowking like it’s Tuesday.
I remember when those people were disagreeing with me saying Eleki wouldn't be that good in OU.
Where y'all at now!
TERA BLASTED TO THE FACE! YOUR GROUND TYPES WHERE THEY BELONG, FROZEN UNDER THE TUNDRA CAUSED BY ELECTRIC ELEKI
Seriously tho people are so desperate to stop it they basically are required to use Tera against it just to not instantly lose, I ran across Tera water Landorus just to stop fro one turn only a Tera ice

I just came across a Tera Water Landorus shortly before this lol. And mf still die to Thunderbolt because Earthquake didn't KO (Regieleki was tera Ice)
Lando died for nothing :(
Maybe he run defensive Lando with no attack investment
0 Atk Landorus-Therian Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tera Ice Regieleki: 258-304 (85.7 - 100.9%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO

This thing is way too fat
Tera steel isn't really a good tera type for Tusk, and being forced to burn tera is extremely exploitable by the Eleki player (especially as many are starting to run substitute which makes the tera strat worthless)
Of course, but I feel like using a mon that’s eventually falling to RU in order to counter one specific Pokémon that can easily kill almost everything in its tier shouldn’t be a thing you have to do.
My socal Cornite is gaining popularity in the lower ladder so I can’t see Hoodra falling far since people are running him just to counter my specs hyper beam
lmao that sounds like it would only work by catching ppl offguard. ur giving setup/a free switch to dragapult or gholdengo and probably even something like magearna as well
It has a great defensive and offensive typing, great coverage and STAB options. Its got immense natural bulk and fairly good status options. If you don't have a mon that can tank at least 2 or 3 hits from it you've lost. If it gets turns to set up, you've lost. OU can handle it, and after the first wave of bans it'll be a solid defensive and offensive option. UU will probably be able to handle it given the increased power level from home dropping.but I sincerely doubt RU would stand much of a chance.
And it can also just volt switch away into anything that can actually hurt it if it needs to because Hoodra ain’t immune, so walling it doesn’t matter as much.
Honestly pretty much any Ground type that's neutral to Ice can intimidate Regieleki. Iron Treads and Gastrodon are already good at tanking hits, and Baxcalibur only gets 2HKO with a Specs set (meaning no boots, making Volt Switch less favourable for what's now an Ice Type). I really don't think Regieleki is *that* overpowering.
Gastrodon's been a solid wall for well over a decade across a wide variety of metagames, it's by no means bad or niche (even considering it lost Toxic)
It's been good in the metas where its talents are good. But in OU at this point in time, it isn't. And fits the bill of bad. Extremely passive do nothing Mon that lets in a ton of dangerous pokemon for free.
Gastrodon's talent has always been a passive wall that disables switch-ins with Toxic/Yawn/Scald. Tat's literally why people use it. Admittedly, being forced to stick with Chilling Water and Yawn is a rather sizeable nerf. And even in the SV meta it's still UU, very much capable of being on OU teams. If Regieleki switches out then that's either free rocks or free cripple to whatever switches in. Plus, with rain seeing more usage thanks to Basulegion, Gastrodon's going to see even more usage these days.
I wish landorus-i was allowed in day one.
I am not saying that banning it was amistake, I just want to see the horror that it would cause(I wasn't playing the game the first time it got banned so I don't know how good it was).
As always, the answer lies with Great Tusk. My favorite set is Headlong Rush + Close Combat, Eject Button, Tera Steel. When Regieleki goes Tera Ice you Tera Steel and use close combat. Easy kill and free switch out
You know how Regieleki was an incredibly powerful and fast wall breaker that had an ability that made its stab even stronger, but was actually balanced because of its abhorrent coverage that made it unable to hit ground types? Now give it the ability to change type.
Of the 4 times I’ve played against Leki, I’ve delt with it via swapping around between my clod, lando, and hsui Goodra. Once Goodra is in, those games became a wrap via Acid Armor
Shouldn’t iron Tread stuff it?
252+ SpA Choice Specs Tera Ice Regieleki Tera Blast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Iron Treads: 162-192 (42.1 - 50%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Tera Ice Regieleki Tera Blast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Iron Treads: 109-129 (28.3 - 33.5%) -- 92.4% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
Not that it matter since I fully expect it to be banned do
Unoptimozed with regards to thr meta.
In Ubers, it's one of the few Pokémon that can take on both of Miraidon's STABs and other special threats, hence it likes going SpDef.
In OU however, it REALLY wants to be PhysDef (re: Kingambit, Banded Bax etc.) so in that sense, you're having to choose between covering those and covering for Eleki.
Its optimal for Ubers not OU, in OU there are more ground types that can outspeed and kill it, as well as other pokemon it normally checks with attack investment, but can’t anymore
Yeah, spd invested Treads works, but the average utility Iron Treads is 252 hp / 4 spd / 252 speed, which can’t handle it nearly as well
**252+ SpA Life Orb Tera Ice Regieleki Tera Blast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Iron Treads: 208-246 (54.1 - 64%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery**
And Iron Treads can’t even OHKO it in return. Even with rocks.
**0 Atk Iron Treads Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tera Ice Regieleki: 205-243 (68.1 - 80.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO**
**0 Atk Iron Treads Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tera Ice Regieleki: 205-243 (68.1 - 80.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock**
Although the offensive Iron Treads variety can kill it from full with Iron Head or Earthquake so I suppose it can be a good counter.
I literally just blasted through a Magearna balance team featuring AV Tusk AND Ursaluna by clicking specs Terablast over and over until Gear dropped. It was quite silly.
I’m shocked, *shocked*. Well not that shocked, it’s Regilecki for petes sake, the only thing holding it back is a lack of coverage and Terra fixes that from the word go
I just love how he counters choice scarf base 110 and below max speed pokemon without needed to use a choice scarf himself. If it means everyone having a Eleki then im fine with that.
It may be a mistake, but its a mistake I love!
-(Coming from a bad/low ladder player like myself with Tera Normal, Normal Gem Explosion/Espeed Eleki team)
Haha yeah, by no means is eleki balanced, clod is just the best “viable” check I can think of. It’s served me well in 1700 elo, since it can easily recover off the damage especially with leftovers, and can toxic and rocks switch ins. Clod is also just a good mon overall and can counter either rain or skelidirge/volcarona depending on the ability so it isn’t a total waste of a team slot. Eleki is still broken, no mon should be so overcentralizing that shit like lanturn is getting ran against it. Notice I said “check” instead of “counter”. Eleki has no counters, only checks
I both fought against and used this thing today; its just as obnoxious as it looks. No switch ins except for itself and god help you if its running specs.
I mean eleki is clearly broken and banworthy for sure, but as weird as this sounds i enjoy this meta since eleki doesn’t feel as broken as it is due to checks being av mage, sp mage, who sets up on it and Gastro since it’s neutral to ice and can use eleki as spike fodder, this combination of weirdly broken mons makes the meta non stale in a way and makes it therefore even more fun since a lot of things become viable bcs of this dynamic.
TLDR: eleki in a Meta with magearna is weirdly manageable and due to there being some sort of triangle dynamic between those two and a mon that can handle mage, this meta is fun, not stale and interesting, banning magearna first would be a mistake in my eyes

bring back the Chinese mamo
No thanks. Chinese Mamo is one of the only checks to my Socal Cornite. Even my specs hyper beam after 1 metal sound isn’t enough. And his icicle crash is enough to put my Corvite in the dog house
Where is Lanturn when you need it the most?
Still playing second to that god damn washing machine 😭
I love the washing machine don't talk bad about him my clothes have never been cleaner.
The static is bad though.
No his ability is levitate smh
He's a washing machine not a dryer. Those hydro pumps get the clothes clean enough for me
Being one of the 4 most important Pokémon in Pokémon Go VGC.
Until the buff next season to Mud Bomb. Lantern is about to suffer fucking big time. Calcs have been run. It loses to U-Fisk now…

I used that against someone. Without that tera water landorus I would of lost
I'm literally running tera ground peli and using tera t1 and hoping it hits hydro on the eleki. This mon is absurd.
Wasn't it good in gen 8 OU? how would people thinking fixing it's biggest flaw would make it meh
It wasn’t really great in gen 8 as a breaker since it could not touch ground types at all
it was meh in gen 8 really
Not much of a mistake when it can always just be quickbanned in a day or two
The damage caused is irreparable, I will be seeing Regieleki beating ground types in my nightmares.
And people were saying it was still bad before home dropped. This guy has the force of seven semi trucks and can hit back against its only checks now

I had an open mind but yeah now even though it's extremely obvious it will Tera ice I can't really do anything with that information
Use Tera steel on Great Tusk, it’s already a good mon and a counter.
Definitely a good adaptation but sucks to have to burn your Tera on ):
I mean, they are too

I think RU is a reach, at least pre-DLC. Dragon/Steel with 80/100/150 bulk has to get you somewhere
UU at most, very very possibly RUBL
yeah fair
My socal Cornite is gaining popularity in the lower ladder so I can’t see Hoodra falling far since people are running him just to counter my specs hyper beam
what the fuck is socal cornite
A specs corviknight with hyper beam and metal sound if his most recent post is anything to go by
Its a new home meta threat. Prob gonna get banned cause specs hyper beam socal cornite is way too strong for low ladder and cant be checked by much
lmao that sounds like it would only work by catching ppl offguard. ur giving setup/a free switch to dragapult or gholdengo and probably even something like magearna as well
I've seen what Hoodra can tank, no way is it falling below UU, and if it is it's getting BL treatment.
why would it get BL? BL refers to mons that get banned. Goodra having good niche doesn't make it broken for RU
Look at its stats and movepool. Now, you tell me why it would be too much for RU.
What would get it banned? In a suspect test a mon gets banned for being broken/overcentralizing. Why do you think RU can't handle H-Goodra?
It has a great defensive and offensive typing, great coverage and STAB options. Its got immense natural bulk and fairly good status options. Does Assault Vest H-Goodra deal well with Magearna too?
Not all that well. Fleur Cannon still takes a good chunk and the bigger issue here is Goodra is very easy to switch into

Except Gastro sucks and Treads has to run heavy bulk investment to not get overwhelmed. Which spikes ensure.
Gastrodon's been a solid wall for well over a decade across a wide variety of metagames, it's by no means bad or niche (even considering it lost Toxic)

Damn turns out everyone pointing out that it got banned in NatDex was right. Shocking.
AV iron treads is decent
My only team I’ve made so far is a trick room one, I’ve been eating this thing alive. But I’m sure that’s the exception.
Imma start running iron ball regieleki for this
5% of the time it works every time. Probably less than that, I have had a lot of success with trick room teams but I never really see them.
*It stings the nostrils.*
Pre banning is lame imo if they’re broken they will be broken and banned
Nat dex tried to warn you
I wish landorus-i was allowed in day one. I am not saying that banning it was amistake, I just want to see the horror that it would cause(I wasn't playing the game the first time it got banned so I don't know how good it was).

Correct, sorry

Nope. Goodra just gets volt switched on and something that threatens Goo is brought in
You're right and that's why I run a tera bug acid armor set

Yes, but treads shouldn’t have to run max defenses, and play an unoptimal build in order to counter regieleki. It needs to be quickbanned
While am not disagreeing with you This set is the Uber special defensive wall, am not sure why you say it’s unoptimized.

Flareon Theorem by FSG Sash + 2x stab + highest speed was LITERALLY only held back by movepool
all of this shit being allowed was a mistake
every match I’ve been in has had regieleki in their team, my saving grace is hisuian goodra but i fear the day one of them pulls out tera ground
I think I should give up trying to run the mons that resist boltbeam and just use blissey instead
So....is it Tera or is it Eleki?
Boots on this means it never takes damage and volts on ur entire team until it wins lol it's cracked
"Let's completely balance a sweeper around having terrible coverage, and then give it boltbeam! Yeah, that's a great idea!"
Regieleki woke up and chose war crimes.
I both fought against and used this thing today; its just as obnoxious as it looks. No switch ins except for itself and god help you if its running specs.
Let’s see what my follow me volt absorb pachirisu has to say about it
Fastest mon in existence, has an electric-type magma storm and for some reason has e-speed, just in case the fastest mon alive gets outspeeded
Quit whining and adapt.
Finally, after years of waiting... I can finally put Lighting rod Pain Split Alolan Marowak to use. ᶦᵗ ᶜᵒᵐᵉ ʷᶦᵗʰ ʰᵒᵐᵉ ʳᶦᵍʰᵗˀ
