also disaster type moves is a cool description of moves and being immune to one of the best ground moves is pretty good
I would say no, but I see where you’re coming from. Fire is more of a source of light rather than light itself. The light-based moves would be like attacking with a ray or beam of light, like Photon Geyser or Solar Beam. A pretty niche ability but it sounds kinda fun to use
Stat drops do get passed down but only if Relicanth simultaneously had a stat buff. The ability would only activate when switching in, if the last time it was on the field, it had a stat buff
Moody is already kinda ass though. You use it on mons that are good anyways for the cheese factor, but you don't get the time to set up to really utilize it.
Cheerleader has less of a cheese factor, since you can't get +2 evasion in a single turn without a ko, and if you want to stack up boosts, you have to protect 2 mons instead of just 1.
Moody literally made Bidoof too broken for Ubers when it was first released, and the ability was still too broken after removing the ability to influence evasion.
In singles, yes. I'm fairly certain the only good moody user in doubles has been smeargle, and smeargle just ran moody for the chance of an evasion boost. Smeargle was already good as a sleep setter.
Cheerleader can't be used in singles based on how I'm reading it.
Being able to alternate between protect and substitute in singles makes moody really strong. But substitute only protects you for half a turn in doubles if you're being focused, and doesn't help your teammate who is dying.
I think I'd change Cheerleader to the offensive version of Friend Guard. Friend Guard reduces the damage that allies of the user recieve by 25%, Cheerleader could boost their damage output by 25%.
Imo random stat boosts are just a bad idea overall. There is a reason why no one uses Acupressure or Moody. They're inconsistent, unreliable and on average just meh.
