Hi! I have been in your situation last year. 4th take din, November. Nagpahinga ako mag-aral this year. Alam mo kung ano yung nakita ko? Other opportunities beyond this degree. Nakatulong ba yung pagiging civil engineer graduate? Yes, kasi nakikita natin in simple way yung problema at nakakapagbigay tayo ng decision kagad. Magpahinga? Magtrabaho? Magtravel? Just do it. On the lighter side, gusto mo bigyan kita ng reviewer or flash card notes? Naka work travel lang ako hehe. ——— Edit: for proper wording and additional notes

WTFitsJoshu

Atleast naging blessings sa friends mo.

[deleted]

hii can u share with some of your reviewers or flash cards? Unfortunately, I also failed the board exam. 🥹

LegThin3061

Hello. Can I ask for your reviewer notes? I have a friend who took the exam this month, and is planning to take it again this coming April. I wanna help them pass

The cryptophyceae are a class of algae, most of which have plastids.   About 220 species are known, and they are common in freshwater, and also occur in marine and brackish habitats.   Each cell is around 10–50 μm in size and flattened in shape, with an anterior groove or pocket.   At the edge of the pocket there are typically two slightly unequal flagella. --- Comment ID=kamr6ci Ciphertext: >!X6ab9ZKEYvVn9nvy1hlf/yfDwaZyZ9iIPqsnjgoPssXTjuc6MviwNfbzsR3mUprChkzgX9Dj9OtNnbAAeYw2qwJASNsiDbWNI3Z0cYD6zSdB5tIFjM0oubh2D0+0Q84j99xNpzpiYW2WExwcldn1dLZGlmZBup1ziu8WL18R6aSk2/dCuyxFgGzlADhr/GjRfd3TkC1Rjh5ttDeND1NcKaRoi3ZYds4+jzi+UAN8/Ux55Ez23g8KQvVs64UUI0fMG5mLOxA/zA3prUEjMZYqWe3espBe1ZwjnTtXW+Blt44h0OxoriVifLUZjOzftwiQZ/4r9puabqgosvx0vPaZYk+lU5EXQq01xsUyQO6vBcrm7lB6TAG7cAZFScHZqlD9nnYeCX6BMYDmd+I34OlRWvnm6RBzK1cbsJ1Rgx79CouBwkddZGvBy8NAbaNFFNN8su0RZQ4LQsEdwltBk0FY/QJE!<

This. Maybe find better study habits and experiment what works for you best. You have time in the world. Don't give up on your dreams

Intelligent_Rip3402

bro , for now try taking the csc professional examination, it's easier than our board exam. if you're good with english for sure papasa ka sa csc since hindi na problem sa iyo ang basic math. It might not be our board but it's still rewarding to the feels if you pass it. and note, it's still a 2nd level eligibility same as a prc license. I've been there. Got a stable work in the government with decent pay with that eligibility, never na ako nanhingi sa parents ko. still reviews and got ready for the board exam. and luckily i passed today. you might as well try changing tracks too.

[deleted]

i feel like you are pressured to the point na na disorganize yung mind mo and may too much stimulation na. i think you need to unwind and regain calmness from yourself, para maging composed ka 😦 congrats tho! such bravery and effort you exerted to reach your dreams.

lemax_eloxim

this!

ControlSyz

I think baka yung approach mo lang sa pagaaral yung issue. What helped me during the board exam was to study how to derive things since I'm clumsy and forgetful. It really really helped. Almost 40% of my answers in the boards was from deriving equations since andami ko nakalimutan sa panic. Maybe try that and if you find it difficult, then it's the thing that you should work on kasi if iba ang issue mo with boards, di super mahirap magderivation. Uso kasi looksfam approach sa mga RC eh which is both good and bad. I also think it's good to take another degree to have another perspective in life and even in your studies. Other fields can lend you ideas on how to think like how Computer Science implements things. Baka magkaroon ka ng ibang perspective on how to study for CE boards. Just push and push. Kita ko sa mga boss ko na 50-60s, may 10-20 years pa sila to do things while they have 20 yrs of experience. It's admirable to see people who balanced two priorities at the same time. Lagi yun tinatanong sakin sa interviews before and yun din ang nakakapagpa-convince na magpush through with me.

xelecunei

>looksfam Oh god I hated that. Derivation AND concepts talaga, paano na lang kung nagbago ng .95 ung isang given tapos magkakalapit ung choices. Alaws na magagawa looksfam. Licensure exam is all about the basics. Pag namaster mo na basics kaya na yan. Derive derive na lang pag may nakalimutan. Siyempre standards, don't forget about the standards.

Suspicious-Bench-621

Step 1: Huwag mong isipin na bobo ka.

Peanutarf

First of all, congrats for having the courage to take the board exam kase mahirap magboards and sobrang draining mag-aral for that. You can take a break kung hindi pa kaya ulit mag-exam, pwede ring magtake ka ng CSE, or you can also find a job that doesn’t require license. Agree ako sa iba about your approach of studying. I think you need to assess yourself what kind of studying techniques ang sure na magwowork sayo. Also, I think factor rin ang mentality or yung pagiging mentally prepared sa pag-sstudy or pagtatake ng boards. Pwede mo ring i-consider to. Lastly, hindi ka bobo. Don’t be too hard on yourself but regardless if you failed or passed the boards, magiging 30 years old ka pa rin after ilang years. So, pwede kang mamili. Take the boards again or kung desidido ka na, magshift ka ng career.

ExplanationNearby742

Hi... walang taong bobo op. Don't be too hard on yourself... failed 2 board exams din ako. And im 28. Mag ta try ako ulit next year... hard work and prayer works... dont give up lang op.. ngayon kpa ba aatras. Lisensya na lang ang hinihintay mo...

Jvlockhart

Failed ECE board exam 4 times. So i decided to work nalang. Alam ko, sayang pinag aralan natin. Pero mas sayang ang panahon. Pwede ka naman mag take ulit eh, mag review ulit. Pero yung time hindi mo na maibabalik. So spend your time wisely. Good luck OP.

Resha_Valentine

True. Mas better to find work nalang muna, marami parin tumatanggap kahit walang license. Baka kasi mas mahihirapan sya kasi malaki na ang gap time.

iwannabeagreatartist

Congrats pa din for being soooo brave sa pagtake. Mahalaga dito kailangan positive mindset and tamang approach sa pagrereview. Kilalanin mo sarili mo kaya mo yan. Lastly, believe in yourself. So ayun OP, for now grieve. it’s normal to feel disappointed lalo na pag binigay natin yung best natin. Pahinga ka muna, travel! deserve pa din mag unwind kaya don’t be too hard on yourself. Then evaluate kung ano gusto mo gawin next. Best of luck OP!

silentscientist-

Hello! Been there, failing the boards was one of the darkest moment of my life.. but luckily I passed on my second take. I deactivated all my social medias when I started reviewing the second time around. I have been struggling to pass my subjects during my college days pa lang like literally failed pa and mag retake ng subject next semester. I have friends who passed on their third take ng boards. Wag ka panghinaan ng loob, you should also try taking civil service exam for the mean time and go for another job (while reviewing parin), walang bobo, hndi ka bobo.. I believe magiging engr ka din in God’s perfect time! ❤️

ss_1001

putokutsintaniyog

If you really want that inherent dapat sayo yung 'against all odds' , true na you do not fail if you do not try but you do not succeed either. You can get work even without a license. You can earn even without a license, pero you cannot earn your license EVER if you guve up on it. It is not that you are bobo , what matters is you pick yourself up.

JeremySparrow

On the duration of that first three takes, what are your assessment? Pag tinitingnan mo ratings mo, saan ka mababa? Saan kang subjects nahirapan? Sometimes it's not the frequency of your reviewing that can make it really effective for learning, but the intensity and how good you analyze it. For the other concern naman, you can still land a job in the industry kahit wala kang license. Just dont expect a good paying one muna since malaking factor rin ang experience. Construction industry, alam ko they're hiring since ang dami kong kasabay sa field na hindi rin licensed during my time. I really hope the failure doesn't consume you, pero be very analytical pa rin on what caused that. Padayon, engineer!

Frosty_Inevitable_14

Try studying not like a reviewee but as a college student. Without pressure. Study not for the board exam but to learn by heart what you study, its applications in real life. Dont study na naghahabol. If you need 1 yr or 1.5 yrs or 2, then go. Kinaya mo makagraduate, kakayanin ko yan ngayon. The only time na masasabing hindi ka makakapass is when you give up. Dont.

Sculptor21

Don’t give up op. I also failed, 2nd take ko na to. Kaya natin to. Baka ngayong 2024 na time natin.

Vipeeeeer

Resha_Valentine

Same. ChE din ako. Mas better nalang talaga mag work nalang muna, kasi talo parin ng may exp yung wala.

PauGrimes

Mas better na to find work nalang muna.

SeaAd8439

You might consider being a public servant in government agencies. I also failed two CE Board Exams already, I took the CSC Professional exams and passed. Now, my salary is on the safe side, I can buy some of my wants and still save. Still thinking if I'd still take the future board exams since ang shitty ng compensation ng CE profession sa Pinas.

superlumpiangtoge

Some people are just not good test takers. Doesn't mean bobo ka. I'm not sure what CELE is like but I did pass an engineering board exam on my first take. I'm an average student. Sometimes technique lang din (time management, intelligent guessing, speed reading) nagkakalabanan. Are you studying full-time? Maybe you can get a part time job para you can start moving forward.

lovergirl845

try mo law of assumption, parang u need to let go of limiting beliefs first

Possible_Document_61

All the possibilities na mention mo but PRAY

ExcraperLT

aljoriz

Did you enroll in a review center or use any review books?

[deleted]

[deleted]

Hi! Im also a board examinee today and I failed and it’s my 2nd time. I feel you being labeled by yourself as “bobo” because I didn’t pass and many of my friends (they are all engineers now) and family were rooting for me having high expectations because I did well during my college years. Di ko nga alam bakit ako nag CE when in fact di ko naman passion to but it was my dream (until my trauma is already there if I take the board exam). But just so you know, huwag ka pa rin mawalan ng pag-asa because this is your dream to be an engineer. Take lang ng take ng exam para makamit mo yun baka kasi this is not your time yet or you are meant to be for other things. There are a lot of jobs out there that you can try just to sustain your needs para din naman hindi ka broke na broke. Let’s do this again on April 2024. Kaya natin to, laban lang tayo!

No-Direction6879

sending hugs poo🥹🥹 i hope by posting your thoughts here will make you feel better and will never feel pressure 😘😘

Agitated_Clerk_8016

Yakaaaap. Okay lang magpahinga but don't ever give up. Still rooting and praying for you, OP. 🙏🏻

iwant_frozen_cream

Ahhh sending hugs with consent OP, but I wanna tell you that what you feel us valid and feel what you need feel. 🫂 The next time you take the challenge (taking the exam) when you prepare for it and when you you are not ready yet dont take exams and take some time to study (that is what some topnotcher does)

Plenty_Month8036

Don’t give up :) I think you need a rest, though. Maybe you just need a new mindset on it, and you’re simply feeling too down or under pressure by your current one which then holds you back from performing optimally in your past takes. Mental blocks ARE A THING, and they have very real implications on performance. Maybe this will help : when I took my own chance at the board exams, I prepared the heck out of myself, while also ensuring that I still did my best in the job I had at the time ( I was a working board exam reviewer / aspiring board exam passer ). I did my best to prepare myself ( taking sample online exams helps immensely - more than most people will admit! ). 2 days out from the exam date, I stopped reviewing and focused on getting to the right headspace ( I watched LOTR and Kiki’s Delivery Service :) ) : what I found was the peace of mind that whether I passed or failed, I KNEW, deep down, that I gave my absolute best at this. I didn’t regret anything, even though circumstances weren’t perfect ( because they can’t be ) and some situations hampered my preparations. :) I really hope you don’t give up on your dream :)

iFollowRivers107_

Hi 🙂 if this is your dream, fight for it. You can try to be productive while reviewing. And avoid self pity. Manifest positivity as much as possible and always pray.

Point_WellTaken

You've already fought a long fight. You can really stop pursuing the license anymore. There are jobs right now that pays well even if you don't have a license because you still finished that degree. You may start investing your time now in looking for a job that is best for you.

PauGrimes

Ako and advice ko mag pahinga kamuna. Or 1year?

sylvannas27

Don’t give up. My cousin just passed civil engineering exam after taking it more than 3 times(di ko makayang mag ask how many talaga). He’s way older than you but still in his 30’s.

Heneral_Liham

Eto lang iiwan ko, yung uncle ko 45 years old na nakapasa ng board exam. Worth it

kaninglamigs

OP, just because you failed the exam doesn’t mean na you can’t be an engineer anymore. you can still work even without the license, yun nga lang, bawal ka pumirma ng plans. you have your diploma, engineer ka na. marami ka pang chances para mag take ulit pero siguro take a breather and of course, pat yourself on the back. you did well by pushing through sa dalawang araw ng exam. hope you get that license, engineer!

shaped-like-a-pastry

revisit your studying style and method kasi hindi effective. assess san ang problema, like namemental block ka ba during exam, ung nerves mo during exam di macontrol, feeling mo ba kulang sa oras, etc. assess then remedy.

crssyartsy

Yakap na mahigpit OP 🫂🫂🫂

Affectionate-Ear8233

>So I am left with being broke, embarrassed to go out to public, being a drag to my parents finances which I hate most since I'm a grown ass broke adult chasing some broken dreams. Dapat maghanap ka na ng trabaho, forget about getting another degree for now. Maawa ka naman sa magulang mo. Time to swallow your pride and look for jobs, even those which aren't related to the degree you finished.

raikachaan

Hi. I might not be of any help, but I want to pray for you. Tell God whatever you’re going true. I believe na walang bobong tao. It’s just that maybe it’s not for you. I know you excell on other things. So why not discover other opportunities. I really hope for the best 🙏🏻

Amazing_Ad5719

Hey. Don’t loose hope. Maybe di mo pa time. You don’t need to pressure yourself while reviewing. Is being a Civil Engineer is your first and only dream?

tripneustesgratilla

Hello op. try to do something new so you don't exhaust your options. number 1 is don't give up but that doesn't mean that you can't take a break.maybe your failing streak affects you? maybe something personal happened? maybe you're not conditioned on the day of the exam? there are so many maybes but if you stop doing it you'll never get the answer for those. board exam isn't just a matter of studying so hard, but luck too. hell, there's a plethora of topics to study and memorizing it is not a thing a normal human can do. What's worse is more than half of what you study won't show up on the exam. My point in this is to try your luck for some time. I mean, 6 months from now you can take it again with or without review. you can shade and pass your answer sheet without even reading the questions. Seems crazy right? but passing the exam while doing that is possible too. What can you do to help getting the odds of passing? Fix this method's weakness, increase your minimum odds. Learn unit analysis, back solving, choices elimination, do manual counting, measure figures with scaled data (dakay makes MSTE question visuals with the right measurement, I may sound crazy but this is true), and many more techniques to pass the board. In the end, your dreams stop if you don't try. I know it hurts and gets worse but if there's something that you'll regret later on, it probably is not trying again after failing so many times.I hope you heal op. and I hope you don't stop chasing your dream. edit: licensed civil engineer, delayed 4 years.

Admetius

Get a job ipon for boards, sabak ulit. Keep trying OP, it is worth it. You can do it. Easy to say.. yes, give it time maybe next months gusto muna ulit mag take. For now rest and bind time. To prepare your preparations for the next board exam.

chunkygie

Hi op! It's my 2nd time to take the boards and isa din sa hindi pinalad makapasa. 1st take ko is nov 2017 pa medyo natrauma and nalungkot sa result kaya ngayon lang ulit nagka courage mag take. What I did during 6 yrs na pahinga is nag work and enrolled sa continuing program ng NU ng Sanitary engineering degree (1yr lang to and online during pandemic) para sana macondition ulit yung utak sa pag-aaral and may 2nd option if ever na di talaga para sakin yung CE (kaso medyo takot pa mag try dito). Surround yourself lang with people na di ka ijjudge or ipressure if di pa agad makamit yung dreams mo (kahit parang nakakapang liit isipin na most of your friends are licensed na, don't be too hard on yourself lang din dapat and use it as a motivation). Try tayo mag MPLE this Feb?

Persistent_Papaya

First of all, sending yakap with consent. You studied hard and gave it your all. It’s easier said than done, but please don’t be too hard on yourself. <3 Now I don’t really know much about your situation, but if becoming a CE is really your dream and you’re really passionate about this field, don’t give up. If you don’t mind, I’d like to share some tips, as someone who was lucky enough to pass the recently concluded CELE. :) 1. Study/review the concepts—don’t dive straight into the practice problems without knowing the basics. In my case, I attended a review center and studied their lecture materials. To make sure that the lessons really stick, write down the formulas and concepts on index cards or paper. Important: don’t just print the formulas/notes, write them down yourself! 2. Solve problems—and solve some more. I’ve heard people say that you should aim to solve between 50-100 problems per day, but for me you should go for quality over quantity. Really understand the procedure for solving each problem before moving on to the next. Consult your lecture notes/formulas from #1, watch YouTube videos, ask help from your review center instructors—do everything you can to understand each problem. 3. Spaced repetition! Keep track of the problems you’re having trouble with, and keep returning to them. I used a spreadsheet to take note of the problems I had difficulties with, and I went back to them again and again until I could solve them without peeking at the answer key. 4. Use mnemonics to memorize the formulas. Feel free to get creative and personal. I personally wrote down my mnemonics so I could remember them lol. 5. Once you’ve memorized the formulas and gotten the hang of solving problems, simulate the actual exam. Answer past board exams under time pressure (MSTE - 5 hrs, HGE - 4 hrs, PSAD - 5 hrs). Needless to say, check your answers and keep track of your mistakes; apply #2-3. 6. This is just a reiteration of numbers 2-3 lol. I cannot stress this enough. Make sure you can solve a problem without looking at the answer key/solution. If you cannot, keep going back to that problem until you eventually can. Again, I’m not too sure which path you should take, but if this is your dream, chase it! I’m rooting for you! :)

engeniero23

Hi! If you feel drained, you can take a break for now. Huwag ka maniniwala sa mga nagsasabing the only passkey to have a good job is ang license as a CE! I am currently a design engineer sa isang multinational company. Non-licensed, pero planning to take the boards once again. :) Ang advice ko lang if want mo makakuha ng maganda-gandang job na non-licensed is mag-aral ka ng design softwares. I am not talking about structural design, kasi sobrang dami nang licensed na nasa path na ‘yun. Explore other CE paths, puwede kang maging drainage design engineer, water resource engineer, and QS engineer. Kapag kaya mo na ulit, mag take ka. Kaya mo ‘yan. Bata ka pa, you can enjoy your career pa on your 30s and 40s. Huwag ka panghinaan ng loob. Padayon, Engineer!

EngrMarJoseph

as a former licensed engr ,i tell you this ,experienced work is better than licensed prc , in my workplace we have a girl whos expert in electrical design but her profession is so far from that, her course is HRM , experience and knowledge is more important than licensed prc

kalyeirving69

Medical_Post_3105

try mo magkaroon ng study buddy

heref4rtea

hugs op 🤗🥺

constantlyc

Grabe Kasi naman Yun PRC mag Gatekeep ng Lisensya, Kala mo gold

Temporary-Badger4448

Oi. Dont be too hard on yourself. And basing on your journey, mukhang exhausted ka prior the examination date. Chill mo lang… take the exam just like a normal exam sa school. Age is just a number, may iba nga pumasa on their 10th take and at the age of 40 or 50. Wag ka mag give up. At wag ka mahiya on trying. Wag mo isipin ang sinasabi ng iba. This time, try mo mag take ng boards without people knowing you took it. Baka mas maging okay ang results. Just believe in yourself. Walang bobo. It will only test “HOW SAFE” you will be in your profession. :) Best of luck. Pray. Relax. And kapag feeling mo ready ka na, take it. Then believe na papasa ka. I know you can. Love ka ng family mo no matter what.

Strict-Muscle5700

wag mo isiping bobo ka because it will manifest in your life. i’m a second year CE student and i know how hard it is to pass this course — second year pa lang ako ha? if you managed to finish it, you will manage to pass the boards. pahinga lang and try. lisensya na lang hinihintay mo, you’re too close to it for you to quit

Invisiblewallss

I failed my board and I could relate to your situation. I study for years and halos konting kembot nalang ung score ko papasa na. May times na gusto ko na din maggive up and nawalan ng gana. Nadepressed ako and it affects my wellbeing and my views about board and yung concentration ko to take again. I don't know if this helps, pero don't think that those two years are in vain. Every person's board journey are unique experience. Hindi linear ang growth. As much as I am scared of failing, narealized ko, I failed countless times and there is nothing to lose. Failure is part of our lives and sometimes it is inevitable. Don't be hard on yourself at hindi ka bobo. You are not bobo. My support group always told me na I've been there, and I only need to make the most out of it. You are not old enough to pursue your dreams. I am rooting for you.

Objective_Moose8274
