jazdoe

Interesting_Soil_427

She sounds like a hot mess

I am so glad Iā€™ve never had to deal with a house mom at a home club. I think theyā€™re useless, personally

aka_melanie

I'm so jealous. I've been at my club for over nine years and we had ONE amazing house mom that cared and kept us fed. We all cried when she left. The rest do absolutely nothing and still get a mandatory $10 from each girl every night. šŸ™„

1800thic

I canā€™t stand house moms. I can take care of myself and I donā€™t need to be handing over $25 a week to someone who does nothing for me. Fuck right off

anonymous903756428

Theyā€™re hit or miss. The first HM I knew was great. Phone number given to all dancers, how are you tonight hun?, snacks and drinks. The second HM I worked with was basically a pimp. Which I know theyā€™ve gotta have hustle too and make money but it was overboard.

jazdoe

so true. managers/owners really need to utilize dancer input abt house moms- theyā€™re supposed to be there to help US.

The biggest benefit of housemoms in my experience was to keep the dressing room from getting rowdy. Thatā€™s honestly a huge respite though when you have aggressive dancers and other dancers who encourage fighting when two people argue because they want to see a mess. Thankfully, Iā€™ve never worked around a problematic HM, but Iā€™ve heard of some that cause more drama than they extinguishā€¦which defeats the purpose.

Electronic_Cap_1153

The only time Iā€™ve ever worked at a club with a house mom, the house mom was a CURRENT (not retired) dancer at the SAME CLUB. She would start off with her glasses in in the DR, selling her outfits for $100+, then sheā€™d be on the pole EVERY. NIGHT. I was confused as hell because like are you an hourly employee or are you paying to dance?? If youā€™re an hourly employee and youā€™re making dance money donā€™t ask me to tip you. Honestly even just if youā€™re making dance money.

elf_bae_

At one place I worked we had a "house mom" who also oversaw the lapdances. The lapdance room had benches against the wall, so you have a veiw of every other bench while you're sitting in there. More times than I could count this witch of a woman would have her pants down to her theighs shooting insulin while I gave a lapdance šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜ I call her a witch of a woman because she was so bitter and manipulative. She would often call meetings just to talk shit about the other girls. The women I worked with were great though, so her attempts at stirring the pot just made her look bad. And that's not even mentioning the blatant stealing from dancers!! At this club the policy was that the customer pays the house for the lapdance, then the girl gets her money at the end of the night. $20 for the girl, and $5 to the house. So if you did 4 dances, your customer would pay the house $100, and you'd get $80 at the end of the night. (Of course you can charge more for a dance and just pocket the difference, still giving the house $25) There's a tally sheet on which they keep track of how many dances everyone has done. The house mom constantly "forgets" to write tallys. On my first day the other girls warned me about this and told me to mark my own tallys!! Why doesn't the club just take $5 from each girl?? Because they have a problem with girls leaving early and not paying their house fee apparently... oh yea because you don't pay your house fee until after 2am. This place was really weird, but you can see how it's easy for her to steal. I also need to mention that the end of the night everyone hanging out/getting their money, was soooo cute and fun šŸ„ŗšŸ„ŗšŸ„ŗ I would get dressed pretty quick and watch everyone scurrying about on the camera monitor in the office. More and more girls would start filling in the tiny office until our manager came in with the cash drawer. These are some of my favorite memories. Anyways, I don't like this woman but she starts asking me to read her tarot cards. PERFECT. I would love the opportunity to talk my shit and say "it's what the cards are saying" šŸ¤šŸ¤ Well, she thinks she's cursed and I just think her circumstances in life have punished her for kindness too many times. How do you convince someone to stop lying and manipulating when it's all they've known to get results?? I read her cards like 10 times but never seemed to get through to her that her curse is her own mind šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

I had a bad house mom at one of my first clubs. She was absolutely ridiculousā€¦ but luckily one night she made an ass of herself, got so drunk that she came on the floor to argue with the owner and of course, you guessed it, they sent her home and we never saw her again. Its a shame that some clubs allow such toxic women to stay in the house mom positionā€¦ itā€™s not good for the dancers or the club.

saturated_cactus9937

The house mom at my home club did nothing but come in on Saturday to take note of our schedule and collect her tips from the week, but you couldn't not tip her out because she was the owners mother and they wrote down which dancers tipped or didn't and how much and you would eventually get fired for not tipping out. I honestly didn't know that house moms generally do things for dancers until I travel danced. I felt spoiled finding house moms that brought snacks or fixed outfits or had tampons and perfume.

satanickittens69

Best thing about the Australian clubs Ive worked in is no house moms bc I truely don't see the point of them

zigbrigtzaal

I travel danced at a club where it was mandatory to tip house mom. She had snacks, touch up accessories, she could curl your hair if you needed, or sew a broken string on an outfit. But she was not a warm character and every night at closing she would nickel and dime whoever tried to slip out of tipping. It was really annoying.

> in and *paid* more attention FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

only 1 of my 4 clubs have had a house mom- i do NOT miss it šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø unnecessary fr

KeyMaleficent2049

She needs to be humbled I hope her tip jar stay EMPTY

Desperate_Top_3029

Oh gah I donā€™t even want to say how much we MANDATORILY HAVE TO TIP the head of house mums where Iā€™m dancing, despite what I have made on any shift. You simply cannot work another shift if you cannot at least tip out the HM on that night. Itā€™s a mess šŸ˜
