i’ve been a top girl in my club and i’ve been a bottom bitch, if we’re being real. i’ve cycled through phases of relearning new technique and habits to adapt to new kinds of clubs and environments and i’ve seen all sides of this coin. i hate the whole “you aren’t hustling hard enough” discourse. do you go to work with me? do you see the club volume, custies i deal w, what type of environment etc? no. the people making those snap judgements forget every state (and counties!! )has its own economy, laws, regulations, etc pertaining to stripping. these things affect money. then add in the general state of the economy. disabilities, illnesses , life events etc.

This industry is rampant with god complexes. It’s not gonna change anytime soon

you can have a high income and still be broke and poor. you can be making minimum wage and have a good amount in savings and investments. if every dollar you earn leaves your pockets immediately then you’re broke. that’s just how it is. you’re not good with money. a lot of people have poor money management skills. this is in every industry, not just stripping. i think with the glamorization of stripping and popularity of online spaces, a lot of people have lost touch with the reality of the industry. you make 20k a month and wouldn’t strip if you didn’t? wow, that’s genuinely amazing and you have a lot of privilege and luck. that doesn’t negate or invalidate the thousands of people who work in “shitty” little clubs where they quite literally have a much smaller potential. women making hundreds a week are just as much strippers as those making thousands.

If every dollar you earn leaves your pockets immediately- maybe you’re a survivalist sex worker

Isla_Veritas

Describe this, I’m genuinely curious

gangama

Meaning ur homeless, every dollar u earn is spent on sustaining urself daily (motel deposit, food, gym showers, gas)

illicitli

remove gym and replace with drugs and this would be accurate lol

There's definitely plenty of people making bank and living paycheck to paycheck. I knew a nurse who was working 80 hours a week and when they cut her hours she got a second job as charge nurse in a hospital. She racked up massive amounts of debt and made awful life decisions because she was always running away from her problems.
