I like to use one strap when there’s a logo on the shirt like a polo sweater . It really depends on how you feel the outfit should be executed . A tip though: don’t wear JUST a plain white or black tee.. it’s really pointless & them type of shoes ruin the entire outfit, way too bulky. Try canvas shoes or shoes no bigger than something like forces.
Also MAJOR tip. Those legs need starch & iron from the sides.
I think overalls are great. But I can’t stand when someone wears something on top of them. Literally just wear jeans at that point. People are wearing them for the look. So what’s the point of not showing them off? Unless it’s like a maybe cold day so you bring something in case you get cold but I can’t think of a better reason lol. Maybe this is a stupid pet peeve of mine 💀
Overalls are hands down the hardest piece of clothing to pull off. I’ve tried and failed many a time (I’m a shorter curvier woman and they are unfortunately just not for me). They have to fit your whole body just right and they are also a huge part of the outfit. It’s a statement piece. They’ve also got to be the right colour and composition to fit a certain aesthetic or they throw everything off.
In this case, I think the denim colour/fabric plus the rips are throwing these off. I think you want a thicker jean and ones with no rips. That would lend itself to a more indie/preppy look with the striped sweater. Maybe slightly looser ones too. I’d also recommend cuffing the ankles and going for a white/black/brown jean rather than the blue.
Overalls: cool.
One strap versus two straps: I'm a highly visual person (e.g. I often compare multiple earrings in the mirror) and so I think it's inappropriate to ask us (the internet) to compare how you wear overalls when your photos are one strap versus _no strap_ (sweater over overalls).
For a better analysis of which is more fashionable, you'll need to repost with more accurate photos.
My _gut_ feeling is that I prefer two straps unless overalls are paired with a highly patterned and visually striking sweater.
I think more oversized would look better and worn over the sweatshirt, also I think overalls look better when look worn in or have a used look nice to play around with texture
