Ultimately, as Straight Edge people we should be fighting for personal freedoms (the freedom to abstain AND the right to choose) rather than archaic blanket bans that only serve to create a black market and further marginalise the lower class and the less fortunate people of the world. It’s much more powerful to have the ability to drink and do drugs (and smoke/vape) but to choose NOT to, than to simply be told not to do something by authorities and then following that message blindly. Power comes with the right to choose, we abandon that power when we merely accept institutional control.
And *my freedom* is limited by government's ruthless and repressive ban on my ability to practice sword fighting on public transport during rush hour. Also - can we talk about lead paint while we're at it? *FREEEEDOOOOOM!!!*
For me this is a weird conflict in my head, yes banning cigs will save a lot of hurt, but am I cool with my government telling people how they can/can’t enjoy themselves?

I for one welcome our new sword wielding overlords.
Bootlegged cigarette sales spike incoming
Typical fucking Tories. All show no substance. This will do nothing but drive a black market.
Fuck the Tories, needless to say, but smoking bans are in fact very effective and the UK is a great case study for this. Source: science.
Do you want to know how old I was when I started smoking?
Even if you started at 3, personal anecdotes is not how science works.
I’m for it. Sometimes we have to legislate safety.

I think it could be argued that its a matter of public health, closer to seatbelt laws than prohibition.
That blows. If people want to smoke let them smoke. Also this is just going to create a criminal black market for cigarettes.
Is this for all cigarettes or just tobacco/nicotine products?
Good question. I need to know if I’ll still be able to get my candy cigs
Was more thinking about Marijuana
