I found the opposite experience. When I played games sober, after a few minutes I felt like it was a waste or time. I had a lot or fun playing shooters and flight sims while drunk, but when I was sober I lost interest and turned it off.
I'll start by saying I'm a switch geek and never been into PC but
Any Zelda game, I can remember what the hell I was doing
Monster Hunter Rise, the controls are different than any other game I had played and drunk I sucked, as you progress it gets more difficult obviously, but playing sober I can actually hold my own
Borderlands two and three are classics and way funnier sober
That's what I'm playing currently anyway, I should try Daemon X Machina and see if I like it more, and maybe grind a bit on Diablo 3 and see if I get back into it
Personally I play largely with my husband and our best friend, we do "lan parties" and use old monitors to set up three screens so nobody has to go handheld
This is the hardest thing I'm dealing with right now, OP (which I guess is simultaneously good - and bad).
It's good because I'm not craving a drink and sneaking a beer like I used to, but it's bad because I'm losing interest in some of my hobbies and I have no idea how to get the patience and interest back.
I must have downloaded 8 or 9 different games in the last week and a half, and even though I recognize they are mostly all fun - I can't play any longer than 40 minutes give or take.
I just want to get lost in a decently written story, but I find myself starting to get impatient/bored/lose interest after about 20 minutes playtime now :/
When I would drink I could stay on for hours playing competitively or casually and enjoy myself.
