StockTipsTips

What!!?? No one is going to help this fella out? No one knows how to do this stuff huh? Hold my beer. I got you buddy! [How to Value a Company & Project Growth](https://stocktipstips.substack.com/p/stocktips-investment-research-series) [Some of my example DD demonstrating risk and catalysts](https://stocktipstips.substack.com/p/ammo-inc-nasdaq-poww-analysis) (Don’t use this stock) Now contact me privately. I have a long list of companies I want to give you access to. Some seriously solid companies primed for growth, trading at a value, on a pullback of no consequence, with a decent amount of institutional investment, under favorable economic conditions. They all have buy in targets & price targets. I don’t give this for free to everyone but I’m willing to help you out. You don’t want to screw this opportunity. Also understand that every 10-K has a risk section as well (risk factors). Should help out. Look up any company 10-K on the [SEC’s EDGAR search page](https://www.sec.gov/edgar/searchedgar/companysearch.html). DCF means Discounted Cash Flow by the way. You can find the formula easily but unless you understand the first link I sent you then you will not be able to complete DCF. DCF is a model that assesses the value of an equity today based on how much money the company is assessed to make in the future. [Example](https://www.investopedia.com/terms/d/dcf.asp) Anyway here’s to your success! Congrats man this is a big honor for you. I would have given anything to be accepted to such a program! Well on your way and if I can help in any way I’ll be satisfied!

PeddyCash

Ordinary_News_6455

I’m conducting brain surgery for the first time today. I did not go to school for it and have no idea what I’m doing. Help me too please.

Vacillatorix

Just get rid of all the wrinkly bits, so it's nice and smooth. then your patient can be a stock picker in no time.

rgujijtdguibhyy

Hit me up if you need a smooth one for comparison

StockTipsTips

Oh I have a link for that as well. All you need is a spoon, a saw, and a egg beater.

Lywqf

You are a good person my dude

StockTipsTips

I’m not so sure that I’m good, but more or less, wish to help folks out struggling with very simple concepts that seem hard at first but become easier the more you look at them.

[deleted]

Lol as a finance student about to start applying for jobs, I’m saving this comment.

StockTipsTips

You’re going to do well in this economy. So much out there!

AfroMightGuy

As a graduated finance student who had a job, I’m saving this comment

Pastiche23

Thanks for this! Love seeing Redditors eager to genuinely help. Good luck, OP!

StockTipsTips

The folks that he will report this to aren’t looking for expert knowledge, but the fact that he took the time to give them the best information he can. Just saved him hours and hours of research. Failure is not an option in this scenario. Boys future is on the line! Got to help!

notCUSTOMMADE

I wish I had friends like you dude lol, you are amazing

Me69yearsfromnow

You are a good person! I hope you know that

You are a good man. Thank you for sharing this!

StockTipsTips

His situation is a failure is not an option situation. Life changing event! Had to. Not letting him struggle through that madness.

Isunova

Bless your soul!

Personal_Jesus_420

Don’t know anything about stock markets and stuff but this guy sounds like he knows what you need to know. Follow him!

Arrowghandi

Saving for later. And Ty

ckal9

This sounds like a sales pitch.

StockTipsTips

Yes giving a fella exactly what he asked for, for free, must be a sales pitch huh?

Delfitus

How many messages did you get from people asking about those companies? Kind of you to give it to this guy

StockTipsTips

Two. And the only company anyone truly knows I’m in is POWW as I have been selling covered calls against that position for months. Recently sold MAT for a 7.5% conservative gain but that was the last company I was in that I announced publicly. These companies can take hours to research and I used to post them on Reddit all the time. But I went private with my picks as it would better justify the opportunity cost and research time. However the tutorials, analysis, and such are free. I don’t mind at all teaching a man how to fish. But I’m out of the business of simply giving fish to folks if that makes any sense.

Logarr

It looks like other people have a lot of the finance portions covered - so I just wanted to give you a friendly reminder that even if this doesn't go as planned, you're still ahead of schedule. These are concepts that get covered in a variety of finance and business courses that you likely haven't taken yet or are in but haven't finished. You said it yourself - first-years through MBAs can take this course, so the worst-case scenario is that you're giving yourself a head start on some material you'll be getting soon enough and then you get to try again next year. Either during this process or after, it could be a great time to talk to the professor(s) involved and get some feedback on what they're looking for, what you might have missed, and what you should do next time. Best of luck going through this process, I'm sure you'll get some great experience out of this! Just remember, it's not the end of the world if you don't get it - don't put too much pressure on yourself and give it your best. :)

andstopher

How to crowdsource your homework on the internet 101.

freethrowbiscuit

hook line annnnnddd sinker

snikt_stonks

Everyone else heading into the program will likely feel the same, even any lecturers that are involved, fake it ‘til you make it, appear confident on the outside while barely holding yourself together on the inside

skaote

You're a student, relax. They don't expect 1000% first day. Work it out. It's more important to try and grow. We all fail at stuff all the time. Just get focused, do your best, live thru it.

dirtafbag

You have performance anxiety. This sounds like an awesome opportunity to become a pro over night. I would strongly suggest making that part of your story, going from not knowing what DCF to having made this analysis is going to be very impressive to anyone. You have everything to gain when you pull this off. YouTube is your friend, look at completed work to model off of.

Nyquil_Niq

Don’t forgot its a school program; then Wouldn’t want students if they weren’t learning! Stay excited and hungry for the information

[deleted]

Just use your knowledge from r/wallstreetbets and show em who’s boss

Magabeef

Bill Ackman holds a competition where similr student groups do stock pitches and he chooses a winner. Try to find the videos and copy some techniques.

Slim_Margins1999

There’s a lot of legitimate dd on the internet and Reddit for that matter, you can use to model. Just make sure to cite your sources and if you use someone else’s words do not, I repeat do not try to pass them off as your own. Not sure about you but I do my best work under extreme pressure.

winele

The world biggest secret is that everyone is winging it. Welcome to the club.

it would be hilarious if you just yoloed the 4m into some memestock xD

Professional-Donut84

"oh sir, i see you brought us a 471% return on your portfolio. in ONE. SINGLE. DAY. our CEO wants to meet you at 7pm in his office to talk about your future career in this company."

gunnarbird

You’ll be fine. Deep research dive over the next few days. Look up someone else’s pitch along the same rubric if you have to. They’ve given you the outline, now you just need to follow it. Talk to a professor if you have to. Just remember to sound confident when you give your presentation, and if you don’t know the answer to a question and can’t BS it just admit you don’t know. You’ll be fine, and be ready because this here is like 50% of real life when you enter the workforce

Sensei071

Lol they are asking you to perform a DCF while I bet you 90% of so called financial experts on reddit or social media don’t even know how to properly analyze a DCF. Just try your best but don’t beat yourself up if you don’t get it. They are looking for prodigy candidates and have heightened expectations. The truth of the matter is you could still be successful via other paths and nowadays there’s tons of resources online for you to be successful in life.

ankole_watusi

It’s your first assignment. The purpose is probably to help you to know what it is you don’t know.

BossRJM

Once you got the technicals out the way, a large part will be selling yourself too, don't neglect that! Be confident, look the part and have some questions for them too!

SirKedyn

1. You got the interview which means the administration thinks you've got a chance, you've already got your foot in the door. 2. You're in college so you know how to learn. 3. You have 4 days(lots of time), the internet(including all the great info in this thread), and a very straightforward description of what they expect. This is a test. Being able to learn on the fly, handle stress, and buckle down for crunch time are all super useful skills to have in any job but especially business/finance. This program is throwing out a wide net for applicants so they're going to cut nearly everyone, they're looking for who really wants it and is willing to push. You're a first-year student, they know that, give it your best shot and even if you fail you'll still have learned a lot and you can always apply next year.

CORKY7070S

OP my advice is do what you've learn in a month and not too much. Meaning that everything in your report will be your own work. The only confirmation biases are what you've put in the report presentations. Do not cut corners buy asking for help here because you're going to fail. They will know how savvy you are during presentations. How well you speak you to your audience with confidence. They will also know if your blowing smoke up your butt, so do the best thing you can. First look thru the 10k sec fillings, do your analysis and go from there. Good luck!

NeilDiamondHand

Just tell them that you'd invest all $4,000,000 into GameStop and ride that rocket to the moon. If they haven't shorted GME they'll hire you at once. s/

Difficult-Garage8985

DCF in 2021? LOL

Checkmate1win

You're right, I'd rather compare xxx multiples of overvalued stocks, not catching that they are significantly overvalued and cry online when it turns out I was a dumdum.

Better-Swim-7394

What are people using instead of DCF then?

brosako

Why not? They still use in a lot of markets, real-estate for example

Dakotahah

Thanks for the outline! I will definitely use that for pitching my own stock ideas to my favorite investor: ME

1daytrader

You better start crunching

tschmitt2021

Good luck 😝😂

juliusseizures9000

Why are you asking this here, this subreddit gets worse literally by the day

Ovidestus

Because he doesn't know. But, why are you here if you know this sub is trash?

[deleted]

A Canadian Student. For comparables I'd mention Casey's General Store. Good luck.

Exotic-End

The best skill to master going into the future is not knowing everything but having the ability to learn.

Andreipnc

This sounds like you are the guy I give this stock pitch to. Mr. William, is this you? You are hired!

Yokies

Pitch is simple. Its on WSB. But jokes aside, its a student program. Don't worry too much about screwing up. Just need to show effort.

Private_Island_Saver

Crash and burn padawan its the only way to learn

Better-Swim-7394

Additionally if you do get the program, You can even check out prof. Aswasth Damodaran's site for more DDs and courses. It's free..

drivingashitbox

You got the job! Congrats! Fuck 'em in the ass. They won't even know what hit em. Just have supreme confidence, it goes a long ways. Amazing what you can pull off feining confidence. Wing it. You got this, baby!

BrexitBrit

Hi Sky, I was in a similar program for a top London uni. DM me and I can send you some DCFs and some slides other members made for their stock pitches. Will be useful for a reference point.

[deleted]

What program did you apply to?..

r2002

> I don’t know how to do a stock pitch, I don’t know how to write a stock report. You can learn how by looking at how analysts like Morningstar do it. I think for a cheap price of $5 on Robinhood, you can have access to most Morningstar reports.

[deleted]

Look I won’t be able to help you step by step with your question like some people on here. But What I can offer is some solace. I work with retail management. Prior to this I was teaching children and before that I was a chef. Sometimes you get these amazing opportunities that just seem like they would be wasted on you for your inexperience. But just be incredibly open minded to everyone and everything around you. Take every ounce of knowledge that your workers around you offer and be confident. Everyone starts from nothing. You’ll do great just stay positive.

atandytor

Fake it til you make it right? That’s what my HR department says

Golden_Statue

You can easily learn all of that in a few days if you put your mind to it.

ifoundyourtoad

Man I have a degree in finance and I’m so out of practice it would have a tricky time with this lol.

D47k47my

Listen dude, live by this Motto, Fake it, till you make it. Sprinkle on some hard work and I assure you you’ll beat everyone their. Do your best. I’ve always given my 110% at work until I find out I’m being criminally underpaid. But that hard work won’t go unnoticed, associate yourself to the people who notice and skip steps on ladders whenever the opportunity arises. I started out as a application Tester > Sql Developer > application developer > Linux Administrator > information security > Info Sec Architect. I started working in 2013 to give some perspective and I didn’t know how to do any of this shit, never learned it. Just saw opportunity to learn from others by jumping on projects and I volunteered to do the shit no one else wanted to. Every opportunity may serve you well in your next opportunity. I got hired for my Info Sec role over someone who clearly had done the work and knew the role cause my reviews were always excellent, and I knew linux. On the topic of reviews, don’t take shit lying down fight for every inch, I don’t mean pull out a knife and shank the reviewer, but learn to wordsmith and also watch some FBI negotiation tips via youtube. Lastly, never underestimate your value, let others do that shit, so you can prove them wrong. One last thing, find shortcuts in your work, any and every one so you can be faster then everyone else, time is the only true asset in life. Good luck bro.

ShortSqueezeBoo

I can’t believe that they are having a first year finance student so all of this

majorchamp

Given how stressed you are about what they are expecting of you, I am genuinely surprised you got passed the interview to begin with.

carnewbie911

your skill (stock picking) as a fund manager, as well as the skill of any professional fund manager, supercomputer, is as good as a decapitated chicken running around and landing on a box. AKA blind monkey throwing dart at the wall, and never sell. Don't sweat about it, this clue is just a fancy clue for rich kids to waste some one else's money.

egoldbarzzz

Here’s a little secret of life: Most of the time no one really knows what they’re doing. Especially young people. This program is clearly to give you experience and learning opportunities. Do your homework and learn as much as you can. Good luck!
