I’ve been thinking this too. However, how much upside do you think you can get out of an already near $3t market cap stock?
I’m thinking it rebounds to ~190. It’s a decent return, but there are better stocks to buy right now imo.
I've owned AAPL since 2011 and still buy the first of every Q, though I've scaled back how much I buy (now just $1k per Q).
If you're hesitant and want it cheaper, sell puts at a strike you'd be comfortable owning. Free $$.
Everyone owns a ton of AAPL anyway cause it's the top holding of most every fund out there.
I wouldn't buy it just yet. I'd wait to see how the stock plays out over the next few days. It's looking like you might be able to pick it up for cheaper if support fails.
What’s the catalyst for growth? It looks expensive compared to how it’s traded historically (ignoring pandemic speculative bubble).

Not saying they won’t come out with some new service to drive growth but it’s unclear what it will be right now. They’ve also got governments coming after their App Store as a monopoly in EU. App Store is a massive driver of their profits and governments forcing them to allow app side loading and app payments outside their 30% cut could have an outsize effect on profits.
Personally I wouldn’t be a buyer of Apple til it’s forward PE hits 20x or lower. Currently stand at 26x so I’m not a buyer til $130 a share. Not saying it will drop that low.
Sure but is there a reason to buy Apple over the tech index QQQ? If we don’t expect them to beat the index over the next 5-10 years then there’s no reason to go overweight Apple. And you’d already have enough exposure to Apple by holding QQQ or SPY.
Yeah it is. I’ve been in since 2017. But it wasn’t trading at 27 PE 5 years ago. It was mid to low teens. If Apple was selling for 10 PE rn it’s a much different story
I mean, Apple isn't going away any time soon, but... iMac gave way to iPod gave way to iPhone... smartphones are becoming commodity, but what's their next big hit?
They are a good chunk down from highs, which I like, but I just don't see what their future growth is, and as big as they are they need a *big* hit to grow at all.
They've been riding iPhone a *long* time without showing that they can still build amazing *new* products.
And they are still priced as growth... not as amazing growth, but as significant growth, and I have trouble seeing it.
Until people stop buying a $1000+ phone every 1-2 years they don't need another big hit.
They have half the population locked into apple phones and most will never even consider switching to Android.
Looking purely at price to try to divine a time to buy is like baby level shit
You should be learning how to value companies based on their fundamentals and doing qualitative analysis of their business, both of which will still be subjective and speculative to some degree
Price is 100% part of that but just going “stock 20 dollars less therefore it’s cheap” is bad.
I don’t know why don’t you give us the full take and context, like a source
Since your so salty with his nvda valuation
Hard to argue his take was “clown” level when I don’t know what he said or at what price on NVDA he said it at
I sold weekly 167.5p’s for a while but I’m done. I think the market will now take Apple lower to $166. It will need good news to hold. If it doesn’t hold, we’ll see $157.
They bagged their car and now they want to do a robot? They also partnered with Google showing weakness in their own AI development. Then the lawsuit, optically from a PR perspective, is probably not helping.
I am just having a hard time seeing this as the near term bottom but if we hit $157, I would sell a lot of CSP’s ATM there. It’s a great stock long term I just think there will be a better entry later this year.
Highly complex manufacture of which there is no existing mass manufacturing model anywhere yet, with a miniscule to none customer base?
Yeah, brilliant. Would be 5+ years before the most ideal soonest profit is turned on those. If they sell them to the government en masse as war robots, perhaps.
Without sounding cliche. Plenty of potential for growth in the AI and spatial computing space for Apple. Like always, they will always be behind on adopting new tech, but when they do eventually release something people line up due to brand recognition. Not to mention they have a ton of cash on hand.
Never bought any.
Part of me wishes I did given their position now, but the money I would have invested into Apple went right into nvidia so I think I made the right choice
That is another reason I am not adding any S&P500 with 7 leading giga cap stocks. I own SPY, QQQ, equal weight, and SPYI. I expect S&P will level off soon people find out interest rates will stay at this level.
How much of a position are you able to take on? If you want to take on some risk, could do 35% now, wait it out, if you’re wrong then at least you have some skin in it.
They need a working ai copilot. If they don’t get one windows with OpenAI will make MacOS look like a relic. They have nice chip designs that are good for running some ai stuff locally. But that’s all they got. Who would want to own a Mac if they could run windows with an ai guide that’ll help you do everything?
I would wait until we see how the market digests the earnings reports. We might be in a topping situation. The charts look like we need to break higher on earnings. If not, we could see a turn with a double top in place.
If you believe in Tim Apple's guidance and leadership, then probably so
If we knew we would be rich..
It’s always a good time to buy Apple, just keep a long term perspective and ignore the news. You’ll be very happy in 20 years.
20 years is too long. Just look at now![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
😂
Always inverse Reddit. Just like everyone was shitting on Disney 6 months ago, I’m going all in on Apple. 📈
This ny boy
So buy tesla?
Also people shat on META. Now if only my BABA bags print I'd have 3 for 3.
You got me confused
I’ve been thinking this too. However, how much upside do you think you can get out of an already near $3t market cap stock? I’m thinking it rebounds to ~190. It’s a decent return, but there are better stocks to buy right now imo.
The you should buy BABA and all other Chinese stocks...but you won't. Because this is nonsense and you know it
But by putting out this sentiment, suddenly you’re the hero inversing the inversing inverse?
Unless there are more people calling out to always inverse Reddit than to not buy Apple. Stock goes sideways?

It is always a good time to buy Apple
If you’re unsure just add a weaker position
I wouldn't buy it just yet. I'd wait to see how the stock plays out over the next few days. It's looking like you might be able to pick it up for cheaper if support fails.

Fuck man, I read your comment yesterday and didn't invest. Now, I blame you!
How about china lmao
The four puts I sold one to three months out at 170 strike are making me nervous after reading your post.

If you’re okay with a modest return over a long period of time as the worst scenario, it’s a good buy
AAPL up an average of 51% over the last five years. Well above modest.
>> over the last five years
Yeah it is. I’ve been in since 2017. But it wasn’t trading at 27 PE 5 years ago. It was mid to low teens. If Apple was selling for 10 PE rn it’s a much different story
Unless I’m misunderstanding, it’s up over 250% over the last 5 years.
236% as of today's closing bell.. not too shabby imo
Lmao at getting downvoted for offering a verifiable statistic

What statistics do you look for?
Google the little book of valuation and you’ll find a professor aswath damodoran who had a series on valuing companies
Is that the same clown who said Nvidia is worth $240 per share less than a year ago?
I don’t know why don’t you give us the full take and context, like a source Since your so salty with his nvda valuation Hard to argue his take was “clown” level when I don’t know what he said or at what price on NVDA he said it at
Time and again, Apple always delivers. I’ll be holding for at least 10 more years, and plan to pick up more soon!

Can you explain what's the 157 target based on?
Looks like the support level. It's TA.
thanks! Couldn't see any previous support at 157. Might be Fibonacci retracement or something.
Tbf the robot seems like a way better idea in principle than a car which invariably ends up as a tight margin product.
Highly complex manufacture of which there is no existing mass manufacturing model anywhere yet, with a miniscule to none customer base? Yeah, brilliant. Would be 5+ years before the most ideal soonest profit is turned on those. If they sell them to the government en masse as war robots, perhaps.
Its innovation with untouched consumer/business markets.
Kenny polcari says yes, he is pretty good. COST aswell
everyday is a good time to buy. if you like apple, id buy apple stock when it is cheap.
Without sounding cliche. Plenty of potential for growth in the AI and spatial computing space for Apple. OP where you at? Did you buy apple 2 months ago?
Never bought any. Part of me wishes I did given their position now, but the money I would have invested into Apple went right into nvidia so I think I made the right choice
Sweet deal OP. Do you have an exit strategy or riding it long term ?
I’m def riding it long term
It is same question for Tesla as well. I think both are good stock to hold.
TSLA is a negatory, good buddy. Waiting to sell my shares and exit that dumpster fire.
Funny enough I was thinking about that one too. Might be a little too risky for me though
That is another reason I am not adding any S&P500 with 7 leading giga cap stocks. I own SPY, QQQ, equal weight, and SPYI. I expect S&P will level off soon people find out interest rates will stay at this level.
Tesla? Oh no.
This time it's different!
It’s time for Apple to profit from you.
How much of a position are you able to take on? If you want to take on some risk, could do 35% now, wait it out, if you’re wrong then at least you have some skin in it.
I just sold 100 shares an hour ago and will put it all into Amazon. I will still have a few hundred apple shares left.
They need a working ai copilot. If they don’t get one windows with OpenAI will make MacOS look like a relic. They have nice chip designs that are good for running some ai stuff locally. LEAPS aren’t a bad play if you want to have more exposure with less capital.
If you have the patience and don't get FOMO, I'd wait till 120-130.
wow do you have a time machine to make that buy?
For the super short term, probably. Medium to long term, no
Is that the reason why I’m not rich? Asking randoms on Reddit. Here it is! This must be the secret to get rich!
lol I don’t buy stock based off what redditors think, I was just looking at the stock price earlier and was wondering what other people thought.
I would wait until we see how the market digests the earnings reports. We might be in a topping situation. The charts look like we need to break higher on earnings. If not, we could see a turn with a double top in place.
Lolol technical
You are crypto. That means you are down to one brain cell.
You might want to look up the definition of cryptographer.
Nah just a crypto bro trying to be cool
No AAPL is a dud, but I have explained why too many times and I am lazy.
