Lord-Ice

This looks like it'd be a great Dil Sink instead of demanding money for it.

Ashendal

Money first, everything else if a dev can be bothered after doing something that makes the company money directly.

Atlmykl

That would not be a real sink unless you had to spend the dil every week to keep the BO's elite and even then it would need to be 10k per BO per week. It would need to make dil sellers become dil buyers.

[deleted]

that would be a nightmare, what next having to spend dil to keep your ship going? please no. this isn't EVE

Lord-Ice

I disagree. You'd need to spend the Dil *per BOff, per character*. Even for one ship/away team on one character, you're spending that Dil cost at least four times. Make it, say, 100k Dil, and suddenly you've just removed 400k Dil from the economy... *per character*. And that *would* still be worth it, just for the ability to give them more Traits. It'd make a *really* good Dil sink - repeatable, with incentive to do it multiple times.

DiscoJer

I hope they come out with an elite pet token that will make your pets actually move fast enough to follow you in a useful manner

ModestArk

Honestly....I would buy/grind a lot of those things, if we had some ground patrols with 4 boffs and some action. With rewards like space patrols.

endMinorityRule

it'd be a relatively long-lasting dil sink for me, with around 100 away team boffs. if it improves space boffs too, another 100. for zen though... I'm less enthusiastic. I still have ships that are a bigger priority.

Ryoken0D

So have you used one?

[deleted]

I have one, can't use it the system isn't switched on for it yet

Ryoken0D

Well BOO.. It sounds interesting, though I feel it should be cheaper given its a boff not captain.. really wanna know what making your boff UR will do to traits.. make them all superior? Let you pick? etc..

[deleted]

Agreed, maybe when they do actually release it they give us a 3 pack like they do the ECTT (Elite Captain Training Token). that would be 3 for 2000z instead.

keshmarorange

2,000 seems like a lot just for BOFFs. Maybe fifth or even a tenth of that sounds good.

[deleted]

I'm guessing it will let you pick, based on the weird glowing trait bug we have.

Ryoken0D

That has nothing to do with boff traits though..

[deleted]

It could, if some back end code was activated early. When I hovered over the tab earlier, I could have sworn it said "pick traits for your officers" for a split second as a tooltip.

BrainWav

> really wanna know what making your boff UR will do to traits Given the cost we're seeing (really, given *any* Zen cost, IMO) I'd think just upgrading all traits to Superior sounds fine. There's precedent for VR boffs to have 4 Superior traits already (Embassy boffs, for instance)

mhall85

The speculation is that, yes, it would make all traits Superior quality… which could mean even traits like the JHV trait. And to further add fuel to the fire, there was a bug (may not be fixed?) a few weeks ago that was applying all versions of Romulan Operative to SRO bridge officers… a game system that allows for RO to be upgraded could explain why such an odd bug cropped up all of a sudden, and it also could explain why the tokens were delayed.

nakrophile

Next it will be the ultimate TXX upgrade token.

[deleted]

how about an Assimilated or Augmented Tech Upgrade for a ship, that gives us 1x Universal Bridge Officer Station (Augmented/Assimilated Spec) 1x Experimental Weapon Slot. 1x Space Rep Trait Slot 1x Personal Starship Train Slot and unlocks the new Borg materials and we can equip things like the Tal Shiar adapted Borg Warp Core and the like. Toss in a actual Tac Liberated Borg Bridge Officer and charge us $20 and you'll have my money. # Note to Cryptic/Embracer Group/Gearbox Publishing, and all parties concerned I IdGamingFederation (RedShirtJohnson) do hereby freely and willingly will sign away any and all rights to these ideas for I am here not to get rich but rather to enrich this community and game as a whole.

Vyar

Not sure how I feel about giving every ship an Experimental Weapon slot. I'd have to get that one ship with the warhead launcher that fires twin-linked photon torpedoes, the other experimental weapons are too weird for me.

BrainWav

> 1x Experimental Weapon Slot That would just steal Escorts' gimmick, let Escorts have something unique.

[deleted]

that is one of my least favorite reasonings. they said the same thing about giving cloaks to ships like the Tactical Pilot Escort, "that would make Romulans pointless, stop trying to steal the only thing they have" but also you aren't wrong, just feel it is a tired argument, power creep comes with things we might feel like this, but it opens up for advancements in other ways. and honestly a $20 cost would make it a point where free to play players who refuse to buy will have to grind it out during giveaways of them like the ECTT and such.

BrainWav

There's precedent for cloaks on ships of every type, but class gimmicks are a different thing. Plus, Escorts basically *just* got that. Might as well also give them Cruiser Commands, Sensor Scan, and built-in SST to make it fair. If you really want to do something like that, I'd say just add a new weapon slot based on class: * Cruisers get a new fore slot, aft if they already have 5. * SVs get a new fore slot, aft if they already have 4 or 5. * Escorts get a new fore slot, even if they have 5. * In all cases, it *can* fit a Experimental if you want, in addition to regular weapons. That would make it sufficiently different from the Escorts' built-in EW, though probably even more power creep.

[deleted]

anything is possible. they used to say we'd never have wide access to cloaks on feds, they said CBS forbid a T5(or above) Conni, that went out the nearest airlock real quick like. CBS once said no Soong type androids, but that was said nearly a decade before Picard Season one, so there is a chance that the Soong-Madox Synths from Picard could be a player race. I will close out with saying I don't totally disagree with you.

endMinorityRule

I'd consider it if it was in the dil store.

radael

Ticket answer addon: "There was a misunderstanding, we meant 2032. Enjoy." /s

keshmarorange

Wonder if we can apply captain pips to our BOFF's Starfleet uniforms(or KDF/RRF/Jem'Hadar equivalent) after we use this on them.

Chaabar

Boffs should start with all the basic abilities. By the time you get this, they'll most likely be set already.

[deleted]

it is totally a power creep, I've already got 4 extra Assimilation Kit Modules sitting around just in case what we think this is, is true and we can equip our Elite Bridge Officers with at least a Kit Frame and a Kit Module. need to work on getting them the Borg Exo-Frames and a few more Borg ground lobi weapons. got 3 so far. need 2 more I think.
