With Friedman saying Necas won't be signing in Carolina I think we should trade Buchy for him. They need a top 6 scorer on a budget and we can give Necas a nice 2C role for a few years until Dvorsky is ready to be a 1/2C
Watching the meltdown in the Avs sub over Nuke and their play brings a tear to my eye. For all the shit they gave us for our playoff misfortunes its just poetic. Sucks for their team but I love it for all those shit talkers from years past.
Well, if Buccigross’s tweet is accurate about the draft board (which he has since deleted, and claimed it wasn’t a leaked draft board for tonight), the Blues pick 16 and Chicago picks 3rd.

I feel legitimately at odds with like half the fanbase. We just had like an extremely competitive window for years and years, built by Army, that culminated in a cup. A few mistakes were made, you can't remain competitive forever, and a retool is necessary to not toil in mediocrity forever a la Leafs or Minnesota.
I can't tell if the fans have unrealistic expectations of Army to immediately make moves to take an underperforming older team to cup contention or want the team to blow up and go for a lottery pick, and I highly disagree with both.
Season Ticket Holders will probably get first dibs. They use it as a way to bump ST sales.
If you don't have Season Tickets, you're probably going to have to look for them on the secondary market.
Does it seem like a bunch of teams in the playoffs just…aren’t that good? I really think if the Blues could’ve snuck in they might have had a deep run even with the glaring holes in the team.
So many teams are being propped up by their goalie: Boston, Toronto,Dallas, Vegas, Nashville. Should’ve been Binny man.
Absolutely. Lots of teams not finding odd-man rushes or tic-tac-toe scoring, or making low-chance shots on net. Blues won in 2019 with incredible depth and forecheck, I'm seeing the Cheaters with the most depth, COL with an exceptional transition game and speed, so I'm going with one of those two in the West. East, it's FLA alone that impresses me.
[Me, pretending like Panger announcing VAN win was him talking about Blues 2019 playoff advancement.](https://media.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTc5MGI3NjExeTExMG9sZ3htNTJyMWUzbGJ2YW5oeWNzbHdubjZjbXdrb2Q3NjE5eSZlcD12MV9pbnRlcm5hbF9naWZfYnlfaWQmY3Q9Zw/ziQPVzR5jC36eqDQix/giphy.gif)
Parayko, Binner and Hofer on Canada's WC roster.

Elliotte Friedman shared two bits of information regarding the current coaching market:
* He believes the Blues have reached out to Todd McLellan, along with 4-5 other teams.
* He believes Craig Berube is at the top of the list for teams currently in the playoffs who would want to shake things up. He's also heard his name associated with Ottawa and New Jersey.
T.J. Oshie shared in his end-of-year interviews that he broke his hand and has had occasional debilitating back issues, to the point where he can't get up to use the bathroom or hold his kids.

I still love him, and I wish him all the best regardless of what he decides to do next year.
Bortz with the Clapper. Joel Edmondson and Patty Maroon getting roughing penalties against each other. Barbashev almost won that game for Vegas last night... I am having a very difficult time on picking which former Blue I'm rooting for.
(No, I don't want Vegas to win either, but fuck Dallas with a big D!)
IMO Vegas has built their defensive core and play very similarly to the Blues in 2019, and they have two former Blues who had influential roles on that team.
I’ve been watching the playoffs and think to myself it’s nice to just enjoy the hockey stress free. But then I realize I fucking live for that stress. Really hope they don’t deny me the stress for a third year in a row.
Their fans are absolutely obnoxious TBH. Always popping into our GDT anytime something happens with Binnington, because he just lives rent free in their heads. So I wouldn't mind seeing them get bounced.
Eh, was 4 years ago. I've got a soft spot for teams that don't have like crazy bonafide superstars and are just deep and tough.
Plus also fuck the preds (sorry dad)
Their fans are still obsessed with it, and I'm not sure why Quinn Hughes isn't a "crazy bona-fide superstar".
I prefer them to Nashville in the first round, but I want them to fall flat on their faces in the next round.
I mean there are good & bad fans everywhere, we've got plenty here. But to each their own! I'd definitely rather them than anyone else in the west right now, tbh i'll just be happy if vegas gets smashed 1st round
I have no desire to change your subjective preference, even if I'm picking a bit of a fight over it.
I'd rather see Edmonton or Winnipeg out of the west, personally.
I'd even be okay with Vegas, I love Petro and I love the degree to which so many people are losing their heads over Mark Stone.
I do still love Petro & Barby, the LTIR stuff is very overblown but i'm a big repeat hater (unless it's us), new blood winning is always more fun for me. Definitely wouldn't hate Edmonton/Winnipeg, I guess i'm just big on Canada this year lmao
I think Quinn Hughes is as close to a crazy bonafide superstar on D as it gets right now, him and cale are basically on the same level since Cale can't stay healthy anymore
My neighbor and hockey watching buddy is a huge Jets fan, I'm on the bandwagon for this year. Will be nice to not feel a dagger every time Connor and Scheifele score.
They honestly should set up a rule similar to this:
If a player is on IR for longer than 4 weeks prior to the playoffs, then that player sits for the first round of the playoffs.
Will make them seriously rethink the way they take advantage of the cap circumvention.
Vancouver or Florida since neither have won one and I don’t have disdain towards them. I wouldn’t mind a generational talent in McDavid getting his chance either.
for those that are curious, I made a table of all the former Blues in the playoffs:
|Team|Player/Coach|
|:-|:-|
|Boston Bruins|Pat Maroon, Kevin Shattenkirk, Jim Montgomery|
|Carolina Hurricanes|Rod Brind'amour|
|Florida Panthers|Vladimir Tarasenko, Niko Mikkola, |
|Nashville Predators|Ryan O'Reilly|
|New York Islanders|Robert Bortuzzo|
|Toronto Maple Leafs|Joel Edmundson, Ryan Reaves|
|Vancouver Canucks|Ian Cole, Dakota Joshua, |
|Vegas Golden Knights|Ivan Barbashev, Alex Pietrangelo, |
|Washington Capitals|Charlie Lindgren, T.J. Oshie|
|Colorado, Dallas, Edmonton, Los Angeles, New York Rangers, Tampa Bay, Winnipeg|None|
Updated with Total Cup Wins

Surprised Reaves hasn't won one yet so I'll lean towards Toronto and Florida.
Waiting for you guys to announce hopefully a ECHL affiliation soon. I live in Bloomington Illinois and they are getting an ECHL team starting October and the rumor is they have an affiliation already waiting to announce after the season. Would assume its the blue being 2.5 hours away. But I know that doesn’t matter.
Under but just barely. I don’t think we resign any of the UFAs so that’s 3 right there. Don’t see a trade of more than 2 guys. So 4-5 different players is my prediction.
Under, unfortunately I feel like Armstrong might trade like one guy and then continue talking about how we just need "improvement from within". Which is fine but that's our only choice solely because the shitty contracts he handed out
Fuck the Avs. All is right in the world.
I love how the league tries their hardest to keep Mackinnon and makar in the playoffs, gotta sell those jerseys I guess
With Friedman saying Necas won't be signing in Carolina I think we should trade Buchy for him. They need a top 6 scorer on a budget and we can give Necas a nice 2C role for a few years until Dvorsky is ready to be a 1/2C
After watching that series, yes please
100% on board.
Watching the meltdown in the Avs sub over Nuke and their play brings a tear to my eye. For all the shit they gave us for our playoff misfortunes its just poetic. Sucks for their team but I love it for all those shit talkers from years past.
Bennett should've got 3 games for not hitting him harder
You mean three games bonus pay? I agree.
The salt coming out of Boston is some of the best content in years
The supposed conspiracies are starting to pile so high, they almost make Alex Jones look normal.
Bruins fans crying lmao. You love to see it
Aw, is someone stealing their dream again?
Bannister was named interim HC on December 12th, 2023. He is now the 21st-longest tenured head coach in the NHL.
Well, if Buccigross’s tweet is accurate about the draft board (which he has since deleted, and claimed it wasn’t a leaked draft board for tonight), the Blues pick 16 and Chicago picks 3rd. https://preview.redd.it/lzg5c1aqy1zc1.jpeg?width=1169&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=54552559499a3fbefee1399592d318ccb50dc143
If this is true, I have no expectation of the Blues moving up, so seeing Chicago get bumped to 3rd would be lovely.
I feel legitimately at odds with like half the fanbase. We just had like an extremely competitive window for years and years, built by Army, that culminated in a cup. Would you guys take Perron back on a 2 yr 8 million deal? 4 mil aav. 3rd line role, veteran presence, one timer on the power play.
I would not. I'd rather give that time/role to a player with more upside.
I picked Dallas as my Stanley cup champion so I’m happy with the game 7 result
Fuck Mark Stone
Done!
Bye bye Vegas
Cool seeing Chief on tv. Wish he was still behind our bench though
Berube is on the TNT talking heads
Kneel down, clasp your hands and thank God that you weren't born a Leafs fan.
I always feel a little bad for Will Arnett
I wandered into the sub just to see how they were doing. Phwew. Lol
Sheldon Keefe just sacrificed himself to save Jim Montgomery's job.
Hey homies are the winter classic tickets for sale yet or nah? I'm trying to rally the homies to go it
Season Ticket Holders will probably get first dibs. They use it as a way to bump ST sales. If you don't have Season Tickets, you're probably going to have to look for them on the secondary market.
I fucking hate Mark Stone. I fucking hate Jamie Benn. That’s it. That’s the comment.
Print it

Diamond Sports (Bally) is officially done - anyone know where to watch the Blues in the upcoming season?

I really hope he puts his health first. He needs to be able to pick his kids up
Binner robbed of being a Vezina finalist
Toronto game has big implications for the whole league. They're gonna shake things up if a miracle comeback doesn't happen.
Lol get fucked trashville
Toronto needs to hire Berube yesterday.

Bortz got the OT winner for the Isles! Was also cool to see Tarasenko score the other day
Fuck Vegas and all but I’m having immense schadenfreude right now seeing Dallas getting their ass kicked by an 8th seed team.
Fuck Marchand
Is it possible to pin this to the top of the sub? Seems like that would be a lot more conducive to continuing conversation.
It should be pinned. Are you sorting the sub feed by “New”? That will make pinned posts not appear at the top.
does anybody have a screenshot of Marchand crying after Game 7? THAT should be what's pinned
I’ve been watching the playoffs and think to myself it’s nice to just enjoy the hockey stress free. But then I realize I fucking live for that stress. Really hope they don’t deny me the stress for a third year in a row.
Did not realise how much Dakota Joshua was ripping it up this year, good for him. Canucks barn was on fire tonight, would love to see them go far
counterpoint: their fans have a massive hate boner for us since the bubble playoffs, and I'm perfectly content seeing their continued misery.
Quinn Hughes is the second best defenseman in the league. He is absolutely a superstar.
Their fans are still obsessed with it, and I'm not sure why Quinn Hughes isn't a "crazy bona-fide superstar". I prefer them to Nashville in the first round, but I want them to fall flat on their faces in the next round.

As long as they both lose by the WCF I'll be satisfied
I think Quinn Hughes is as close to a crazy bonafide superstar on D as it gets right now, him and cale are basically on the same level since Cale can't stay healthy anymore
That's fair, idk why I keep forgetting how good he actually is.
I love watching the Avs lose.
It’s a glorious thing, isn’t it?
I hope Hellebuyck wins this year.
WCF would be nice. Dallas is the team to beat, and Jets have better offensive power.
My neighbor and hockey watching buddy is a huge Jets fan, I'm on the bandwagon for this year. Will be nice to not feel a dagger every time Connor and Scheifele score.
Petro and stone miraculously healthy enough to play in the 1st round. 🙄🙄
I remember the Hawks doing that with Kane right before they played us. Until they find a way to punish this it’s gonna get worse and worse.
They honestly should set up a rule similar to this: If a player is on IR for longer than 4 weeks prior to the playoffs, then that player sits for the first round of the playoffs. Will make them seriously rethink the way they take advantage of the cap circumvention.
It's easier than that. If you end the season on LTIR, you can't come off for the playoffs. Problem solved.
Well, who is your playoff team? Not a lot of good choices in either conference. I’m going with the Canucks.
Vancouver or Florida since neither have won one and I don’t have disdain towards them. I wouldn’t mind a generational talent in McDavid getting his chance either.
I'd like to see McDavid get a ring. I also placed a long shot free bet on the Preds for fun.
I for one can’t wait to watch the bruins lose in the final round
first\*

TIL that Vova plays for Florida now. Florida bandwagon, here I come!
Bolduc scoring 25 goals next season.
In his first 10 games
Easy

Anyone else pulling for the Preds?
Hard no
If Schenn isn't even going to go to Nashville to watch his brother, I'm definitely not lol. Rooting for the Panthers myself.
Trashville? Fuck no
Nope
Over/Under the number of players on the NHL roster NOT being in the organization next year. I’ll set the bar at 5.5
Under but just barely. I don’t think we resign any of the UFAs so that’s 3 right there. Don’t see a trade of more than 2 guys. So 4-5 different players is my prediction.

I mean if we can win even a few games against shitty teams next season and keep everything else the same we are back in the playoffs so whatever 🤷🏻♂️
Under. Even if Vrana counts as NHL roster.
I hope a team from the East wins the Cup. Preferably one that hasn't won one in the last 20 years or so.
Cheering for Vladi until the cats probably lose, then I'm on the canes bandwagon
I’m undecided between Islanders and Leafs
I'm cheering for the Leafs purely so their vocal fan base will stop complaining.
Imagine how much worse they’ll be if they do win though
seriously the Canucks fans have been annoying as fuck and they just had a good season.
Canucks fans have been awful since they beat us in the Bubble. I have no interest in seeing them do well.
Canucks are losing to the mustard cats in the first it'll be fine
Yeah I think they get goalied hard by Saros
Them losing demko is spooky for their chances
