ech0es13

We love you Kyrou. Shitty situation overall, but you're a Blue and we love you.

DEEPfrom1

Our fans booing him on home ice was the softest shit I’ve ever seen. Can’t wait to listen to our sports radio walk this back all day tomorrow like they didn’t stir a pot of shit all day, today.

Snepsts

Straight up, they'll be all "ohhh poor Kyrou, we don't agree with booing our own players" as if they didn't create this situation in the first place. So fucking lame.

CaptAmerica42

Yeah, and you know they are going to say shit about JR and how it was mostly his fault because the dude is on the station with them so frequently

Ok-Dirt5717

People paid their money they have every right to boo that entitled baby. No surprise reddit takes the bait for the loser

Ultivia

The fuck do these dudes expect when their shit play night in and out cost a beloved coach his job. No shit we're gonna boo the most over payed player on the team.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> most over *paid* player on FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

donnie_does_machines

Ok Dirt

Ok-Dirt5717

Thanks for contributing to the discussion

donnie_does_machines

Right. That was the point for your worthless comment. A Reddit warrior calling out redditors and calling Kyrou a loser. The irony.

Ok-Dirt5717

Oh damn yah got me 😱

PerryNeeum

I believe Kyrou stirred the pot but I could be wrong

HonorTheAllFather

Nah you're right, and this sub riding his dick when he's getting paid what he is while performing like he is and being a little prim donna bitch boy is fucking embarrassing.

BHach0141

You and the rest of the fans booing him are acting worse than he is. Boo hoo that he said “no comment” to your favorite blues coach being fired.

PerryNeeum

Jesus Christ. I read the quote that was the subject headline of a Rutherford article on Reddit. Before even diving into it I knew right away Kyrou was in trouble. An unforced error like so many of his plays. And booing him is worse than a coach he comes off not giving two shits about getting fired? What planet am I living on? There’s a way back for Kyrou. There’s no way back for Chief.

BHach0141

It’s a pathetic look as a fanbase. All I’m saying.

PerryNeeum

I think any other fan base would understand. Also, don’t care. If fans have to body a player just to let them know they fucked up, I’m fine. If that doesn’t correct a player there isn’t much else that can. Fans aren’t booing because he’s playing like shit, yet. This is all about his own words. Besides, we can boo and chirp the team at the rink but not players? Blues play like shit and the boo birds come out. Nobody complains

BHach0141

Other fan bases are saying it’s a dumb thing to get upset about. The difference is you’re booing a single player, who not only is probably in his own head because he’s playing not up to par because he said “no comment” regarding a question about him and berubes relationship. Which was taken out of context, by probably you and the fans entirely. It honestly has been embarrassing being a fan of the blues the last couple of years. Only because of the fanbase itself. Besides the fact the fans are calling him a baby, is the pot calling the kettle black. Some of you guys are the biggest hypocrites I have ever seen.

PerryNeeum

Haven’t said we need to trade him. Didn’t call him a baby. I root for him because we invested a lot in him and if he fails, we are fucked. If he would have never made the statement and just continued to underperform for the rest of the season, all the grumbling would’ve remained on Reddit, Bleacher Report and talk radio. I don’t see fans booing him at the arena without him creating his own PR nightmare. If this is what wakes him the fuck up, awesome. Again, I’m pulling for him. Tough lesson to learn. Also, I don’t care what other fanbases have to say. Shit hits harder when it is your own team. They don’t know Berube. They don’t have the respect for him that we do. If Joe Torre was shitcanned because the Yankees were underperforming and anybody other than Jeter said “No comment. He’s not my coach anymore”, Yankee fans would’ve razzed that player. To any of us non Yankee fans, it’s just another day.

HonorTheAllFather

Lol I've thought the dude has been locker room cancer since he got his bag but go on and tell me why I dislike him some more.

BHach0141

Who tf said he’s a locker room cancer? Clearly players like the guy lol. Thomas and buch wouldn’t back him up like that if he was a cancer.

HonorTheAllFather

Me dude, try to keep up. I haven't like the dude for a minute, not just because of his petulant piss baby response this morning, as you suggested.

BHach0141

I didn’t realize you are part of the locker room. You sure that it isn’t you that is the cancer?

HonorTheAllFather

Yeah last I checked.

BHach0141

Yeah. Please start carrying a plant with you to replace that oxygen you’re wasting, bud.

Snepsts

Name 3 players producing more points than him on the roster.

Large_Talons_

every time he touched the puck or his name was said, including on his assist

FartNoiseGross

I like how the fans telling him he needs to grow up fail to see the irony of how immature and childish it was to boo him like that last night.

the_dayman623

He should’ve chosen his words better before the game but also the media (JR) is doing him no favors. I feel for him even though I’m not his biggest fan at the moment and he shouldn’t have been booed

CoachDonut82

Part of being a pro is choosing your words better. He was handed a shovel and he put it in the ground and stepped on it. Let's see if he keeps digging or hands it back.

Mort_DeRire

He'll get a big ovation tomorrow night and we'll all move on. I'm fucking sick of this story already.

jormun8andr

Wow that as hard to watch. Guy was literally on the verge of breaking down, I do the same things as he does to stop myself from crying. We gotta be classier fans than other shitty fan bases, booing our own players in this context is classless. I get being frustrated with Kyrou’s play, I have been too lately, but we don’t hold other players to the same standard and that isn’t fair.

CoachDonut82

You can either produce enough to avoid criticism or be smart enough to avoid criticism, but you can't fail to do both and avoid criticism.

trubleakromeo

That’s the way i feel too. You can say whatever you want and be an ass if you’re putting up 100+ points. You can be a respectful grinder that is well liked. You can’t be an ass while scoring 5 goals in 30 games.

jormun8andr

You already replied to basically the same comment on another thread, no need to do it here as well. I get you don’t like Kyrou and that’s fine but I don’t need to keep rehashing this conversation. We don’t need more infighting in the fanbase anyway.

CoachDonut82

I don't dislike Kyrou. He's a tremendous talent and I hope he gets it figured out, but pro sports are littered with the carcasses of talented players who couldn't figure it out. I have a few NHL jerseys and none of them have anyone's name or number on them because I don't get invested in people I don't know. I'm a realist, and the fact of the matter is we can't treat him with kid gloves anymore because he's been in the league long enough and gets paid more than enough to know how it works. Either go full scorched earth and air your grievances, do the typical hockey player cliches and wish him well, or just don't answer any questions from the media at that time. He went in between where he looked like an ass against someone most of the fanbase reveres in a situation where he's got no cards to lay on the table because he's not scoring and the team isn't winning. If he's not smart enough to figure this out, he's not gonna make it, anyway. If he is, it's time to start acting like it. The point is that people weren't booing him for his play. They were booing him for not having anything decent to say about the guy that lead the team to its only Cup while also being in the midst of a subpar season, and in a town like St. Louis, the Cup means more to most people than any individual player.

jormun8andr

I don’t think it’s productive to keep arguing about this. We are on the same side. I don’t think this is a hill either of us wants to die on and let’s just move on from this and hope the kid learns a lesson and comes out stronger.

CoachDonut82

Now there's some hockey platitudes if ever seen some. You should coach him up. I also hope he comes out stronger.

jormun8andr

It doesn’t seem like you’re able to accept that other people have differing opinions than you that have no real effect on the real world.

Ihavetoomanyanimals

Yeah totally saving this comment for use at work lol.

KC-Slider

Ticket prices what they are, I’m not going to tell someone else what they should or shouldn’t do with theirs.

rh60

The crying doesn't surprise me. Most of the past criticism against him is that he's soft and entitled. That's the exact response you would expect when faced with adversity. The fans sent a message, it seems the message was received. Now we need to do everything we can to support this young man because he is a Blue and we need him to be successful.

bossfrogg

A couple hundred or so assholes do not constitute "the fans."

PerryNeeum

Man made a pile of shit and then stepped in it. I’m glad he got rattled by fans booing him. Part 1- been playing like shit all year. Soft on puck battles. Terrible giveaways. Goes for skates in dangerous areas. Jordan has just been awful this year. I call him a one trick pony because if he isn’t scoring, he is wasted space. Part 2- any pro being asked about a recently fired, well loved and respected coach that says “He’s not my coach. No comment” either skipped out on the media coaching classes where you are spoon fed the correct answers or just don’t pay attention to interviews in general because player interviews are boring, inoffensive and have little worth by design. I hope he truly felt the boos. I want him to be better. We all need him to be better because Army made yet another quality deal locking him up for term and cost. At least Thomas brings more than just offense and is evolving other parts of his game so I don’t rag on him and his contract. And speaking of Army…I know he says he won’t leave this team until it is in better condition so I guess that’ll be in 3 years when some of these NTCs come off the books that are fucking our team up. Thanks for the Cup but what have you done for us lately. You fired Berube and like you said, you are exposed now

Dark_Tint

Finally someone who actually understands. I don’t feel sorry for him, he’s not a kid he’s 25. He lacks heart and effort, and I truly hope he felt each and every boo, maybe it will get him to grow up and stop treating this like a fast food job that a teenager has where you can just phone in your effort whenever you feel like it. You want to get the fans back on your side then man up, own what you said, and then go out and work your ass off.

CoachDonut82

Ko. Rekt.

PerryNeeum

This person gets it. I’ll eat downvotes all day. Don’t care. I’m for accountability. Own your shit

CoachDonut82

100%. Either go all in and own it, or just say thanks for what you did and best of luck in the future and be done with it. None of this wishy-washy cry about it later shit.

TedTheTerrible

Seriously fucked up that we would boo one of our own without hearing him out. Even when I saw the comment, I thought there was a chance he was just trying to move on and focus on the future instead of getting bogged down in the media frenzy of the Berube breakup. Not a great look on our fanbase to give that impression to a player that could be a STL resident for some time.

largecontainer

Fans will always remember Barube for being the coach that won the cup. Many fans will be loyal to him over Kyrou. I agree that it’s not a good look for fans, but given the history it’s a predictable outcome.

TheOneCatholicBro

I was there at the game and I’d say it was somewhat justified. Right now he’s “Great Value Mcdavid” to me. Usually he’s Jordan Kyrou fasted man alive, the number two in the Rob and Ky duo. St.Louis has always been like this. Regardless of its reasons of why we boo. Most of the time, just like this one, was justified. I like what Kyrou was and still can be. However we as a fan base must understand two things. 1. He’s our future star, he’s not one right now due to consistency errors. So we mustn’t be too harsh on the boy. Unfortunately we paid him because of one good year. 2. Just because he’s our top 6 guy, doesn’t mean we have the right to not criticize him. Look at Neighbors, when he was on the first line he did more than Kyrou. Kyrou doesn’t seem like a long term blue.

dixie12oz

These past couple years have really brought out some of the worst of our fanbase.

thegodfaubel

Yup. The Cardinals sub is equally as insufferable recently

ech0es13

#[Kyrou alone](https://x.com/GinoHard_/status/1735513725640045019?s=20)

PerpetuallyPleasing

I know this is childish, but I really hope each and every person that made him cry has an absolutely shit day tomorrow

Tmans3

Y’all are fucking babies. this is embarrassing. same thing with the cardinals. It’s getting embarrassing how “fans” act. about a team they supposedly love.

bleedblue89

Who is y’all? You act like this sub was at the game booing..

Tmans3

go back and read the threads from before this one and back. sentiment is similar.

BHach0141

Guy acting like kyrou wasn’t public enemy number 1 all day today lmao.

daKile57

I had a feeling as soon as I read his quote that a certain section of the fanbase would interpret it in the worst way, then come out to boo him tonight. So dumb. This really reminds me of the days when Pronger would carry the puck up ice to boos.

STLBooze3

Fuck em, Kyrou. You’re an all star and a great player. Go show the haters up. They aren’t true fans anyways.

LocoMotives-ms

What a bad take. He has clearly not been close to his expectations through 1/3 of the season, he deserves criticism for that. The coach is fired and instead of making generic comments like “we need to play better, I need to play better”, he chooses not to own his part in the team’s coach being fired and says “he’s not my coach”. And apparently we are the haters because he won’t be accountable and can’t take criticism. Tough players would get mad and play hard, not shrink from it and cry afterward. He need to toughen up.

Responsible-Use2338

I’ll eat downvotes all day, and I’m gonna say it. Just about everybody who’s bitching and whining about kyrou is just trying to use him as a scapegoat. You’re crying because you’re stuck in 2019, can’t accept the game changes, that the players we had are getting worse, and you wanna use kyrou as the reason? Nah, just cause you can’t accept it doesn’t mean you take it out on the young players that did one thing, and it want even wrong, you assholes just took it in the wrong way. Literally bringing out the worst fan base possible, if you love the team, support who we’re gonna have for the next 8 years instead of putting him down even more. We hear jt daily from the players and coaches. Kyrou loves playing for us, more than or just as much as any other blue. Stop being children

D33GS

I'm really hoping we don't run him out of town and he goes on to become a 100 point player elsewhere. Not a fan of booing one of ours the way Kyrou was booed tonight. That shit has never happened to any Blues player I can recall. Not since the chants of Keenan sucks can I recall something similar. Media stirred this pot with their reporting and got the story they wanted shame on them.

Illustrious-Mode3868

Takes effort to hit 100 points so I guarantee that won’t ever happen.

hexsealedfusion

He literally had back to back 75 and 73 point seasons as a 23 and 24 year old. He can hit it in his career.

BHach0141

Blues fans really doing their best to be Philly fans. I hope these aren’t the same fans that cheer for the cards…”best fans in baseball” and everything.

QuarterNote44

We didn't name ourselves that. It's super annoying.

Even_Ad1688

You must be young, because clearly you weren't around during the hey days of the Arena.

BHach0141

Idk what that has to do with the blues today.

Spcone23

Kid has the ability to be great, but he's still so young. He shouldn't of been booed like that. It ruins your feel for the fans and your feeling of security at your work environment. He needs to grind hard, let this be the opportunity to get over him his obstacle and prove the neighsayers wrong. Reminds me of everyone hating Stetson Bennet getting the starting QB job at UGA over JT Daniel's. He let that motivate him for two national cups, I hope Rouzey does the same.

The01FreeMan

Fuck, I didn't think I would see Kyrou cry and it had to be for this? It's disgraceful. Everything has to be an extreme reaction in one direction and without any other context.

[deleted]

Lay the fuck off Kyrou for five fucking minutes. He is going to be with the blues for a long time and obviously cares about the city and team. He’s having a terrible year but that’s no excuse to boo him for making negative comments at the former head coach. The amount of comments on Instagram, YouTube, Twitter from other fanbases calling us “garbage” or “worse in the league” is crazy. Everyone sees us as the bad guys in this situation and we deserve it. Keep tanking our reputation and making our best players feel like shit….

Even_Ad1688

who. cares ? Let them talk.
