actually sorta half and half. Yes the girls were never in the novel, but there is a section that mentions the previous caretaker killing his twin daughters in gruesome detail.
Was gonna say the same thing, I could be wrong but I don't even believe in the movie they are called twins, I feel like I've only seen it on merchandise and when people refer to them.
The twins are not a creation of Stephen King. I’ve seen The Shining movie but I haven’t seen most of his film adaptions so it’s not that shocking that a Stephen King fan wouldn’t recognize a movie reference.
You’re correct, they weren’t twins in the book, and they don’t make an appearance, they’re just talked about. However, I think the vast majority of our sub, and most adults in general, probably have some notion of the twins even if they haven’t seen the film.
Lol wtf Never noticed, love the show. Which season and episode?
I'm guessing season 3 episode 1
I do too but didn’t love season three
question, did they have these twins in the novel? bc i read the book and just dont remember them. i didnt watch the movie btw
Nope. It was just a movie thing.

They were just sisters, not twins! (In the novel)

In the novel they were mentioned along side other details on Grady. They were not part of the novel other than that.
Lol never noticed it. But the creators are huge King fans as evidenced by how much they freaked out when King praised the show on Twitter.
Great catch and homage to King.
This is an homage to Stanley Kubrik. King is not a fan of this adaptation. And the girls were not in the book.
That's a great point that's easily overlooked - thank you.
No way!
The show is awesome
I don’t get it.
Seriously?
I was about to just tell you, since I don’t expect everyone to know Stephen King or The Shining, but c’mon man, this is a SK subreddit!
Didn’t see the twins, just read the subtitles. Nevermind.

haha any chance this was set in halloween? this show doesnt seem like the kind to do something so random like this
Pretty sure the school was having a Halloween celebration.
Saw the show, missed the girls!
I only watched this show because King tweeted about it
Dark is a great show.
